Just a few steps farther, the door creaked open. You heard the noise and turned to see who had emerged- But it wasn't a who, it was a what.

"However, I do not wish to be rescued. I'm enjoying my cave here much more than I enjoyed being kept there. The others are so annoying and clingy." It stood its ground, though it was in a more relaxed position. Perhaps this human wasn't too bad?

"Let me cover you with this, maybe it'll stop the liquid from getting on you." I said what I hoped was a soothing voice.
I wondered what the liquid was to so injure and change the fara and was glad that I had instinctively stayed away from it. I needed to get this fara out of here and away from the liquid that was obviously hurting it. I wondered why it had stayed here.

Once you drop me off back at the shelter, no one will ever look at me again." It said, sighing. It seemed quite discouraged at the thought. "I'd be lonely there anyway."
