Spring

Ahh, the fresh breeze only carries hints of warmth, and the Fellowships no longer have to suffer the ill effects of Winter. Spring has brought renewal upon the lands, and bountiful prey. With sickness finally fizzling out, spirits are high as the days only get warmer and warmer. While the warmth means more prey, it also means easier births, new cats... and more predators; one should not blow caution to the wind just yet.

Two winged cats stood before Agraz. They were siblings, a male and a female. The male had soft cream fur, and
violent red wings, with red crystals growing from his forehead and tail. The female had bright ginger fur, wings
instead of forelegs, and red crystals (The same hue as her brothers) growing from her forehead, back, and hind legs.
The two seemed worthy enough, they had told Agraz their history as loners, born and raised explorers, and
seemed tough enough to fight against the unworthy. The female, Cinder, was especially interesting. Agraz had
found himself leaning away from Oceana or Snapdragon, but Cinder was a new player. Perhaps she could be
his first Blessed. The mother of his firstborn, his heir.

Agraz had been speaking to Amser, and knew that soon he would be speaking with his cousin again. Anubis's
Fellowship lived somewhere in the caves beneath the cave Agraz used to enter the camp's pocket dimension,
but they hadn't had the time to set up a meeting yet. It would have to come soon. Perhaps...

Drawing his attention back to the two cats, Agraz nodded. "Cinder, you will be a Knight." he growled "And
Warble, a Mage." he snapped his tail towards Oceana. "Oceana, you will lead Cinder and Warble in hunting.
Snapdragon, take Wasp and go on patrol. It is time for me to speak with Amser."

The assembled cats bowed their heads, and gathered near the stone that would send them outside. Sending
a burst of Spirit power into the shard, Agraz watched as the knights and mages were all sent out of the pocket
dimension that housed their camp.

Turning his head to check that Sybil was properly occupied with her kits, on the other side of camp, Agraz
turned back to the stone and sent another bit of power into it, this time connecting him to the spirit world.
"Amser," he whispered "Hear my prayer. Your Servants have been working tirelessly, and I have sent already
an unworthy into the belly of Kimonah. I ask you now, the unworthy ones will not always be so young. They
will fight me back, to try and save their pathetic lives. I ask you to send me a shaman, one who understands
that the unworthy do not deserve to live. One who will help me in my task of purging the unworthy from this
world." As he finished his prayer, the stone pulsed several times, before settling back into its constant glow.

Sending teleportation magic back into the stone, Agraz emerged from the pocket dimension and spread his wings.
The time had come to speak with his cousin....

Agraz'z tail flicked as he padded into the cave leading into the heart of Obreothia's territory. Sending flickers
of flame down to his paws to light his path, Agraz made his way into the tunnel, lifting his chin as he sought
out his cousin's camp

The ebony tom was waiting for him inside one of the main common areas. He was alone as of right now,
illuminated by some fires around the camp. When he spotted his elder cousin, he met Agraz's gaze with his
own—red into green. "It's time you've come to visit."

Agraz snorted at his cousin's words. Meeting Anubis's blood red eyes with his own lime green, Agraz simply
smiled and said "Ah, but time matters so little in comparison to our...task, does it not?" His tail rippled,
and he stretched out his wings. "How have things been going here in your caves?"

Anubis simply watched his cousin coldly, not bothering to get up while his ebony tail flicked idly behind
him. "Fair enough." He narrowed his eyes, "I heard you made a kill last moon. Who did you invite into your
lands that would have deserved to die?"

Agraz's ear flicked softly "I did not invite anyone, the unworthy was born." his pupils narrowed into slits as
he thought of Agnes. "A runt, daughter of one who will be dead soon enough. The others though...they have
potential. So long as their mother is removed as soon as they wont suffer from it."

It did not exactly take scribe physics for Anubis to get his answer, "The kittypet is bound to die then, one way
or another. Being reunited with her children is a scant mercy." He cocked his head with a cunning smile, "But
I get it that you have not just come here to chat, have you, Agraz. What have you truly come to tell me?"

Agraz laughed coldly "You never were one to mince words Anubis," he rumbled "Very well then. It is an
unspoken truth between the two of us, that our groups are allies. However, I believe we do need a more
...solid, way to prove that our fellowships will always fight for each other. Incentive, if you will."

Anubis raised an eyebrow, "Mixing our own blood and heritage between us would secure it."

Agraz smiled "I'm glad we're seeing things on the same page." he purred. "If we mix the blood
of our fellowships, our followers will be more willing to protect one another, so as to protect
their kin." He tilted his head "As well as a test of loyalty. Our cats say they will obey us in whatever
we say. If we demand two of them to become mates, will they follow through?"

POV: Supposuisse
Rumour had gotten around that Dulcis and Flagranti where now mates. “Will Dulcis have the fellowships first ever litter?” Supposuisse murmured. “I hope Captiosus knows what he is doing” Amica replied in a worried tone. “Of course he knows what he is doing! Captiosus is my brother, his name even means smart” Supposuisse answered slightly aggressively. Dulcis finally emerged from the mage den, everyone turned to look at her, the poor mollie looked embarrassed and scared. She looked at the ground ahead a slowly padded forward, as cats started to whisper she shot forward off, out of camp. “Alright! I’ve had enough! If this is how the fellowship treats a pair of cats when they become mates I’m out!” Flagranti hissed standing up for Dulcis. Supposuisse felt sympathy for the new couple and she suddenly felt that she had to go check up on Dulcis. She followed the scent trail deep into the birch forest. “Dulcis?” She called in a low mew, a whimpering sound came from behind a thick birch tree. “Here” Dulcis mewed back. “I’m so sorry for what happened” Supposuisse started, “I wanted to congratulate you but I didn’t know if the rumours where true” she finished. Dulcis turned to look back at Supposuisse, her blue eyes where full of trouble and sadness. “Thank you Supposuisse” she meowed lightly. “Let’s get you back to camp” Supposuisse purred.

The current season is summer! Is it just me or did the sun get warmer? The weather is lovely and everyone wants to be outside- including confident predators looking for a meal, so be careful who you send on raids. Births are going smoothly and you're likely to find some cats seeking shelter from the heat. Try taking a splash in a river to cool off!

Angus seemed to become clingy as the time went on. He left Fawkes behind on hunting and border patrols even though Etheria thought his stealth power would be handy. She noticed him brushing up against her more often, even when she purposefully shrank back not feeling comfortable being that close to another cat. She would never wish to be back in her lonely cage again, but she missed the moments where she felt completely alone. Etheria loved her freedom but it came at a cost: adjusting to change. She tried to bring this up to him multiple times but could never find the correct words. “There’s something blue in the bushes over there.” Angus bumped her shoulder to grab her attention. She knew he meant well. “Almost matches your eyes.”
“Let’s take it back to camp to show the others.” Etheria brushed past him to approach the blue stone nestled in the grass. It even seemed to be emitting a soft glow. She reached out a paw to touch it when a molly came out from behind and surprised them both.
“Hey, don’t touch that!” She yowled and Etheria backed away from the stone. “First of all, that’s mine and you shouldn’t go around touching things that aren’t yours.” The cat also seemed to have a soft glow emitting from her, though hers was lavender. “Second of all, if you touch it, you won’t make it special anymore.”
“How’s that work?” Angus crouched down to look at it excitedly. His whiskers almost touched it.
“I’m not sure,” The cat looked at her paws, “but I feel that we shouldn’t touch it.” She carefully wrapped it in a giant beech leaf. “I carry it around like this to keep it safe until someone needs it.”
“It glows like you,” Etheria observed, “Did it come from the Facility?”
“I have no clue,” The cat shrugged, “I found it in a shallow cave that I slept in during a thunderstorm. I, on the other hand, am spliced with a bioluminescent jellyfish and not found in a cave.”
“And you have an element?” Etheria asked.
“Air,” She replied, “My name is Reign. I can also sense weather patterns.” Reign noticed Etheria’s crestfallen face. “What’s yours?” She asked gently. “There really isn’t an element better than the rest, don’t worry.”
“I don’t know,” She sadly mewed. “I don’t think I have one.”
“That mustn’t be true,” Reign comforted her even though they just met. Reign knew the two cats meant no harm. “Maybe there’s a rarer one we haven’t encountered before.”
“Yeah,” Angus enthusiastically interjected, “You’re a triple splice after all. It’d make sense.” Etheria grumbled to herself, thinking her want of knowledge would never be satisfied. “Don’t worry, we’ll figure it out.” Angus reassured. Even though Etheria never said anything, she appreciated his concern.
“Do you two have a family or anything?” Reign picked up the stone still wrapped in the leaf. “Do you need a kit-sitter or an amateur hunter?”
“We’re not mates or anything yet.” Angus chuckled. Etheria didn’t know how to feel about the ‘yet’ he added. “But I’m sure we could use another set of claws around our camp. We have an expectant queen to feed as well.”
“Don’t forget Fawkes.” Etheria added. “He’s still learning how to fight. Hopefully, we’ll meet a fire element soon so he can be taught element specific tasks. Angus is mentoring him at the moment.”
“And I’ll bring my rock!”

It seemed that Reign’s glowing stone was very popular. The cats had stored it under a bush on the outskirts of camp to dissuade anyone accidently bumping it, however, another cat tried to investigate it just like Etheria and Angus had. This time four cats noticed and rushed to save the stone. “Keep your fur on,” The stranger widened his eyes as he was almost ambushed. “It’s just a healing stone, calm down.”
“Oh, is that what it is?” Reign poked it for the first time. Nothing happened.
“You didn’t know…?” The cat shook his head in disbelief. “You’ve never encountered one before?”
“…no…”
“I didn’t mean to make you feel so foolish,” The cat quickly consoled the molly. “They’re just more common to find in my old territory, I guess.”
“You didn’t make me…”
“I did, it’s alright.” The cream mink assured, “I’m an empath, I can read other’s emotions quite well.”
“And spliced with a…bat, perhaps?” Angus tilted his head looking at his deep purple wings.
The cat smirked. “I’m Sinner,” He introduced, “spliced with a dragon.”

“So…” Angus quietly groomed Etheria’s back, “What do you think of our new members?”
“Reign seems eager enough,” Etheria started to relax under his touch. It was strange to feel comfortable surrounded by so many other cats. Even with cages stacked around her, there was only the feeling of being immensely alone. “And Sinner seems to know what he’s talking about.”
“I don’t know if I like his vibes.” Angus said.
“You’re just upset that he said you were feeling jealous.” Etheria said.
“No…” Angus drew out the word, “…maybe…it’s not cool to point that out.”
“Well, we’re going to have to get used to him.” Etheria shrugged. “He probably will be very useful.”
“I love you.” Angus blurted out.
Etheria had no words for him. “O-okay…” She stammered. They were silent for the rest of the night.

for whatever reason, the fellowship's chief had decided to split up from her normal patrol partner and had decided to go with the fellowship's only brave, her childhood friend condor's mate star polyp. they had successfully gone hunting and star was carrying a graek in her maw as the pair finished their scouting patrol of the southern part of the territory. the two mollies noticed a mix of unfamiliar scents, and heard a small cry rip through the air; immediately, they raced towards the smell and sound, and they found a silver matron and her black kit, both completely soaked to the bone but a good several dhacul leaps away from the nearest pond. racing towards the pair, immediately star began to whip up the air around the mother, focusing on drying her fluffy fur enough to stop her shivering, and zinnia used a mixture of her fire and air to get the little kit warm and dry and regulate its breathing. after the pair seemed fully alert and calm enough to speak, zinnia nudged the kit towards its mother before speaking. "hey, its gonna be alright. this is star polyp, and i'm chief zinnia, of the spirits of nature fellowship nearby. can i ask what happened? we heard a cry..."

the matron let out a small smile as she shook her head a bit. "honestly, it was all a bit confusing. i'm wisteria, and this is my son jacaranda. we were looking into the water, jac was kind of playing but i was trying to fish for something to eat. its just been the two of us you see, since jac's father died, right after he was born. well, it was strange. the water was perfectly still, aside from the small ripples jac was causing with his little paws, and then all of a sudden there was a strong wind that caused the water to have these intense waves that soaked us completely, and then-" before the molly could finish, her tiny son spoke up, with this high-pitched and loud voice; "and then the water got hot and burned my paw! see!" he lifted up his front right paw, the only one with a bit of white on it, and showed his burnt pink paw pad. the two fellowship mollies shared a look, confused by the strange sound of this event they were told of. "we'll definitely look into that, thank you for telling us. please, come with us to our home, you'll be safe with us, if you'd like to stay." the molly then picked up the graek as the matron picked up her kit with a nod.

after returning back to camp from his hunt for herbs, the spirits shaman found himself very mentally distracted. while out scavenging through plants, he could have sworn he caught the scent of his missing twin sister, however it turned out to just be a raspberry bush. the green tom had found a sad smile on his face as old memories enveloped him; being a nature element like himself, his twin sister was always obsessed with the aroma of fruity berries, and would rub some into her fur as a sort of perfume. raspberries had always been her favorite... he shook his head as he tried to refocus on organizing the herbs in his den; he resided in a large, open space that was located in the hollowed out base of a tree trunk. the green tom listened to the chattering of his little companion, the albino flying squirrel that currently was perched on his shoulder, and let out a deep sigh. he was about to speak when he heard another cat clearing their throat, and the chitters of his companion allowed him to know who had joined him in his den. “condor, blue ribbon. what can I do for you boys?” even though he couldn’t actually see him, the shaman could tell by the silent pause that the two tom cats were sharing a look with one another, before the low and calming voice of blue reached his ears. “we just noticed you seemed a bit distracted since you got back from your patrol. did something happen out there, are you okay?” while his voice remained level, his eyes showed a level of nervousness, not wanting anything to be wrong with his friend. “no, no I’m perfectly fine, although I do appreciate the concern. i just was reminded of my sister; i came across some of the plants she used to wear like a perfume. it just makes me wonder where she is, how she's doing. i hope to see her soon; she knew, if we ever got separated, to meet back here, in our home of birth." his friends shared a look before taking a seat on either side of him, giving him the simple comfort of their presence.

Citrine's POV:
Citrine forced her pace to stay normal as she approached Snarler, but she was about to burst with excitement.
"Snarler, meet me in the ravine." She whispered to him. He nodded.

Snarler joined the molly in the shallow crack in the earth. The ravine had been their safe space. Where they could simply be alone.
Since Heron and Serpenti had declared them fyrwith, the two had loved meeting down here to just talk.
"So," the skaarth said. "What did you want to tell me?" He looked confused, and Citrine wondered why he hadn't yet guessed. But no matter.
"This morning i went to see Barley, because i thought i had a bellyache, but actually," she blurted out, unable to contain herself," i'm expecting tads!"
"Woah, slow down. I couldn't understand a thing you just said." He chuckled slightly. The young thrynne took a breath to calm herself, then looked up at him, her eyes shining.
"Snarler," she said, her voice quiet and happy, "you're going to be a viryn." The tom gasped, his eyes as wide as an harfynn's.
"Really? Citrine this is amazing!" He said, then suddenly gave her a concerned look. "Do you need any help walking back to camp? Fresh-kill? Soaked moss?" He pressed. She chuckled and flicked his ear playfully with the tip of her tail.
"So silly, i'm fine. But i appreciate your concern. Come on, let's get back to camp." She said. Then, tails twined, they walked home.

Heron's POV:
Heron blinked her eyes open and found herself in a familiar black world, with only a single shape beside her. It was a tom, with large wyvern wings. He padded up to her, and sat beside her. hello, Heron. it spoke in her head. i have been watching you. Your temple of hallows grows more powerful everyday. his eyes burned into her. She couldn't speak, the words stuck in her throat. He seemed to understand. i know it sounds a little wierd, coming from a stranger, but i hope you do well in life. he turned and began to leave, but the tom must have remembered something, because he turned. oh, and the other spirits are angry with your dawn. They blame you both. Please be careful. with that, the strange tom-spirit scurried off. how odd, i wonder what's up with him. And where are the others? she thought to herself.
As if on cue, faintly at first, but growing louder, laughter could be heard. Maniacal and evil, it filled her ears, blotting out all other sounds. Then a voice spoke.
hello little kitty. it snarled. The rest snickered and snorted and cackled with laughter. what brings you here? Come to ask us something? Like we don't give you enough already! it seemed to be enjoying itself.
Then another voice spoke over top of it.
yeah, what do you want! You stupid mortals always running around with your greed, just leave us be.
make up your mind already!
She was about to answer when she was cut off abruptly by paws made of glowing mist wrapping around her. They were dragging her, down, away, towards a deep darkness. She struggled with all her might.
She tried to scream by paws clamped her jaws shut, claws digging into her face. She flailed her legs, but there was no ground to find purchase against, and her wings were pinned tightly to her sides. She could do nothing as she was pulled into the darkness.
As she fell she watched her mother die. Her siblings starve. Her father being hit by the train. She was being chased by a dog. She fell over a cliff and broke her leg. She thought she was going to die. Starving and alone.
She kept falling.
Finally she felt the ground. But didn't get up. She merely lay there sobbing, until a single voice spoke in her head. choose. it demanded.
"I-i can't!" She whimpered. Visions still flashed through her head. Her mother's glazed eyes. The screeching of a train passing, mingled with gurgling screams. you waste our time, mortal. Choose. thinking quickly, but stuttering slightly, she gasped the first thing that came to mind.
"A candidate. Send me a candidate."
Suddenly, something scaly touched her shoulder. She jumped, expecting the worst, but it was the wyvern cat's wings.
it's okay, they left. You're okay. he soothed. She could tell, something about him was different. But was it real? Or was this some kind of emotional torture, worse than snakes and thorny tendrils?
you'll wake up soon. Just remember, you're okay. then everything faded, and she stood up.
She was in her den, and she shook the dust from her pelt. Serpenti was gone, probably hunting. She felt a little annoyed. After all, he had been the one to anger the mana spirits, not her. Why should she have to pay for his mistakes?

Howleyed: insane, crazy, stupid. A light insult, often used jokingly.

Lyrewynne: a she-cat or tom who will never take a mate or have kits

Quyn: an exile or reject
Ex. "[name],leave the territory at once! You are quyn, and we have orders to kill you."
Thryn (ne for females): a cat who is alligned with earth and nature
Ex. He/she is thryn/ thrynne, they allign with the earth.
Skaarth: a cat who is alligned with fire
Ex. He/she is skaarth, they allign with fire
Whiryn: a cat who is alligned with air
Ex. He/she is whiryn, they allign with air
Frigis: a cat who alligns with water
Ex. He/she is frigis, they allign with water
Kriln: a very strong insult
Ex. "You foolish kriln!"
Viryn: how you would address your mother/father (virynne for mother)
Ex. The tad looked up at their viryn/virynne
silverlight: the time of night during which the silver moon shines.
Ex. during the begining and the end of silverlight, a dawn, who represents the silver moon, may pray to the mana spirits.
goldenlight: the time of night during which the golden moon shines.
Ex. during the beginning and the end of goldenlight, a dusk, who represents the golden moon, may pray to the mana spirits.

Prey:
Fraylins- a small mouse like creature with a very long tail with a colorful fan on the tip. (2 servings)
Griers- huge rabbit-like creatures with manes of feathers, ram horns, and long tails. (3 servings)
Tslaises- plural=tslaisi. Long, mink-like creatures that are extremely fluffy and are usually brown or tan in color. (2 servings)
Hleffris- tiny ground birds similar to quails except for their tiny horns. Traditionally practice prey for Tads. (1 serving)
Kippits- tiny, squirrel-like creatures, with no tail and antlers. (1 serving)

Predators:
Harfynns- basically snowy owls with four legs, claws and long feathered tails.
Patras- like a cross between a large cat and a badger, with thick neck fur, no tail, long pointed ears and a long face.
Hawreeks- basically a hawk with two very long tails, and four wings.
Slynxes- like a fox, but they have two or three tails, and extra set of legs, and four eyes.
Jaukers- the ultimate predator. Long tufted ears, huge front arms, lots of fur, talons and no tail. One single, twisted horn coming out of its forehead.

season: summer
the territories are in full bloom during the hottest time of the year. prey is bountiful during
this time of the year, and herbs can be found in abundance. kittings will be handled smoothly,
and cats are still around who might be in need of a new home. however, predators are also
fond of the warm weather, and cats who overwork themselves may find themselves suffering
from dehydration and exhaustion.

★ after a long day of hunting, mira manages to bring x2 fish back to camp to help feed the rest of the fellowship!
★ almaric begins his patrol optimistically, his spirits lifted by the wonderful weather. however, it seems that he's not the only one out and about, enjoying summer. he comes across a siren who appears rather annoyed by his presence on the territory, but he manages to get away before there can be any further confrontation. the rest of his patrol passes, fortunately, without excitement.
★ rowan also seems to be fond of the weather, but manages to maintain his concentration for the duration of his training. he successfully learns defense!
