Does anyone else feel like Demand is killing CS?

the tigers demand seems to have died down quite a bit in the last couple weeks, or at least that's how it feels to me.
i've seen several trade where he went for 5-5.5 nons lately. i remember how he used to be really popular and people would trade 7+ nons

Just out of curiosity, has there ever been a drop in the UR Tiger's and Joker's demand?
I don't see them listed as dreamies as often as back in 2013-2015, but maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places.

I’m not sure if this is an actual reason but my hunch would be that a lot of players don’t list the UR Tiger as a dream pet because it does seem so far out of reach? My first week as a newbie I started going through the archives and saw the UR Tiger and loved it, but in the following weeks after I got a better understanding of what it would take to get it, I took it off my wishlist with the idea that it wouldn’t be worth it. it’s possible others may feel the same?

I think the UR tiger has a lot of value just inherently because it’s an older pet with a design that aged really well.

The "Dragon Cat PPS is not worth lists" part of the thread really sticks with me. I offered a mainlist omgsr for the PPS in someone's auction; they don't seem that impressed. I'd love to own a Drink Me but the demand is depressing. Maybe it's just me but I feel like CS would benefit from more transparent rarities. The rarity update was a good step, but people still don't really pay attention to it.

jeez, you're serious???!!! what'd exactly you offer for it??? but still, it's arguable that that particular pet has better demand than some of the OMGSRs. rats and fruits in particular though. so yeah, demand really overpowers rarity, but i can see too sometimes.

But that's the point, isn't it? If you go by what the demand asks for, you
end up in four nons per Raven Dog territory. Obviously we can't stop
people from valuing their pets as they please but I think that there's just no
real reference point for value which opens up the road for arbitrary
trades based on "demand" which is a nebulous concept that is hard to prove.

Personally if there was some kind of numerical value point the way there is
for C$ trades I would feel much better about trading and would have no
problem overpaying for a pet for the "demand" because that way it would
be a recorded fact that this is an overpay and not just what this pet goes for now.

For the record, what I offered was the Medium Speckled Rat which used to
be a mainlist but is OMGSR because back then nobody wanted to adopt rats. It
should be hard to get but I've somehow accumulated two, because even with it's
rarity, demand always pushed it down the list below new UR releases and now
way below even 2014 store pets in some people's eyes. That rat is a rarity higher and
six years older for anyone keeping score.

yeah, he's been on top of the rareslist for so long when it was still around and was that pet pretty much everyone wanted. i guess it makes sense that a lot still believe they'll never achieve that, even if it's gotten a little easier.

I wholeheartly agree.
I have beem offering everything for the Raven/PPS Dragon Cat in trades for years and no one seemed that impressed, even when offered everything on account back then. If I wasn't gifted the raven by a generous user, I still would be wandering around hoping to at least own it for a minute. I understand that they have amazing design, they are my favourite in the whole CS world but are they really worth OMGSRs..? Personally I think people have to pay more now but back then I payed this for the dragon cat.

Despite the fact that the UR Tiger is my dreamie, I have never once sent a legitimate trade offer for one. Never made a Trade Thread seeking one, either. Why? Cause I’ll never obtain one. Those dogs are crazy rare. Their demand is completely legit.

I've been on this site since 2014, and since I quit around 2015, and came back in 2018 everything has insanely changed. A huge dreamie of mine is to achieve the ur avacado, and I've tried thousands of times and offered tons more than the omgsr that I have. people deny the trades because one, it's a rat and two, the 'dEmAnD' is so important. What's the point of playing this game when the pets are literally tossed around and traded for more pets by people with no goal but to have something higher demand than the other person. It's becoming like a hierarchy and people just joining are no longer able to get any trades out because the 2020/2019 pets are extremely low demand. I remember trading rare for rare, vr for vr and ect. I literally can't wrap my mind around the list and how it came to be but it's just so frustrating, what's the point of even trading pets when you'll never be able to give the 'true value' of such pet. It's just a joke.

the joker i believe has been stuck at between 1-2 nons for many years. but there was a time not too long ago actually that the tiger could fetch 10 nons, and that was a normal listing price. but faced a heavy drop down to around 4-5 right after the '19 rarity overhaul. (this is what i got for mine almost exactly a year ago.)

actually, rarity wise they're worth roughly the same as a sunjewel or UR mint horse. the UR butterfly wolf, grevvy's, plains and nick unicorn are both rarer than the UR tiger if you look at rarity change data. but whereas most of those trade for 1 non because there's a massive misperception of their worth and/or "bad demand" the other is unobtainable unless you happen to have 7 nons' worth of high demand pets sitting in your collection.

We don’t have true values of pets. A pet is worth what an own person values it at. I think rats are quite strapping and value them at 50 rares. (Valueing a ‘non’ at 100 rares ) Some people think might think it’s worth more and value it at 75 rares. Others might think it’s worth even less and value it at 25 rares. None of these ways of looking at the rat are wrong. The problem arises when I want to trade my omgsr rat for 50 rares but the other person values it at 25. I have two options we can compromise and find some mid ground or I can move on and find someone who values it about where I do.

As for 2020/2019 pets, you can get plenty of trades for them. They are thousands of stunning commons and uncommons even rares. I think you can still have a fantastic experience and trade and collect lots of gorgeous pets from 2014/2015. Why do players or new players need to get very rare pets? They can gather so many pets without worrying about some extremely valuable pet.

I disagree, people need to stop living in the past. Anyone who thinks that the raven dog or dragon cat pps is not worth the outrageous demand needs to start thinking about the future more. Those pets won’t go for what they used. They will will only be worth more, they won’t be released again. Getting your hands on one now for an outrageous price will look like a bargain in a few years. People will be looking back going, “ The demand for the raven is so outrageous you have to pay and arm and a leg just to get one, why can’t people trade them for 2 nons like what they are really worth ( Insert trade from 2019 )” It’s like me saying, why can’t I buy a tv for 40 dollars anymore it’s outrageous demand I don’t want to spend 1500 dollars for it. ( You get the idea I have no idea how much a tv costs ;-; )
