Your founder does not, necessarily, but in order to level from 1 to 2 you have to obtain a leader; so one of the 3 cats that you are able to have maximum at that level has to be a leader - which is why it’s safe to just pretty much make your founder your leader, until you have more cats.
I don’t know what you mean by achievements, but your MYO can’t be your founder.
