I am adopting Valdis because of his exquisite design and looks. I love how much detail and effort has been put in. The colors of him go perfectly together. I especially love the front legs, facial, and side markings of his design. The legs look very elegant and I just adore the combination blue and brown. The side marking is special to me. The red and blue yin yang makes me want Valdis 100x more than when I first saw it. Yin yang is very special to me, I even put it on my fursona. The fact that it is on this pup doubles my love for it more.

Also, the Warriors of Isket idea is very original and creative. I've been wanting one since the first round of adopting puppies. In those last two rounds, the pups didn't really "click" with me. But then Valdis came along and I knew I had to go for it. I also love the idea of each wolf having it's own unique armor. Plus, I would love to be part of the W.O.I. community.

With little guy, I would write many stories (probably not posted on CS, though. Just in my writing journal ^^) about him and do constant art. This would include in real life and digital art. I would also be very active in the RP. I love to RP and the fact that I could RP Valdis would be so fantastic. He would be on my character site and most likely in my signature. I would take great care of him, making sure we wouldn't collect dust.

Shy
Valdis, despite his name which means "rule" in Latvian, is a very shy pup. He does not like to meet new people, it scares him to death. Once in a while, when he is caught up in something and not really thinking, he will come out of his shell. Then, once he realizes that he was exposed, he hides again. Valdis usually hides behind his mother, Tira, for protection and comfort.

Quiet & Respectful
Valdis is usually a quiet pup, fading into the background. He does not feel like he needs to be loud and crazy. He respects his elders, like pups should, and doesn't not interrupt when someone is speaking. He stays silent and lets them finish. Valdis tries to be as polite as possible, although his anger or annoyance shows when it is at it's maximum level. Staying quiet when other people are talking is also a part of his shyness. He stays mute partly because he is too afraid to interject, and if he does, it will be in a soft, quiet voice.

Playful
One the other hand of his overall personality, Valdis can be quite playful and cheery. but this is only with people he trusts and is not afraid to show his true self. He usually is only like this with his brothers, sisters, and parents. Although some people are exceptions, but they have to be very, very close to him. Valdis likes to be playful, but only alone or with his family/close friends.

Impatient
Valdis is a very impatient pup. He wants to do everything faster so he can go and be by himself. He usually rushes everything, making things sloppy and disorganized. He doesn't exactly care, as long as it gets the job done quickly and he has time to think to himself. Valdis always wants to be alone (unless he is playing) so he antsy and hurries.

Thinking Alone
Valdis loves to be by himself just to think. Sometimes he will just go into a cave and think. He usually thinks about trying to bring up his confidence. He wants to be like others, not so shy, so he thinks about ways to fix that. He also thinks about current events or reminisces in past events that he enjoyed. Being alone to think clears his mind of daily frustration and stress. It is one of his favorite things to do.

About Armor
The metal Valdis's armor is painted different colors to make the design. Most of the design like the ribbons and feathers are just for show, he was just trying to stand (you will understand why in the story). However, the spikes on his armor is for protection, since his doesn't quite like the chaos or danger from fighting. The blue orbs glow very faintly, made of some sort of unknown stone.

I sat in the middle of a cave, thinking to myself. I use many caves to think, but I usually use this one. The reddish rocks surrounded me, but I was seated at the highest. The darkness was as dark as usual, being mostly nighttime in the land of Isket, but the moon shone a soft pleasant light through the entrance. I looked out to the stars droning out the outside world noises and went into deep though. I'm so shy and bland. I need to come out of my shell somehow... I always think about this, but somehow never find a solution. I kept thinking, wondering how I could ever be like my brothers and sisters, so confident and happy.

I leaned back on the rock, laying down. I stared up at the dark reddish cave wall. This was one of the caves not used for dens, so I was at peace when I came to think. I sprawled my arms out wide, stretching on the warm, hard rocks. I sighed and thought hopelessly, I'll never be able to come out of this shyness... I was just sitting up when one of my siblings came bursting through the cave entrance.

"Valdis! Valdis! Mother wants you! She says that we are going to have a talk about our armor!" squealed my sister. Her grin was wide, showing two rows of razor sharp teeth.

Suddenly, I knew how I was going to get rid of my terrible shyness. My orange eyes sparkled with hope. I leaped off the rock and sprinted in front of my sister, to excited to wait for her. "Hey!" I heard her call after me. I could hear her paws thudding against the grass as she raced after me. I almost leaped into the air with joy. The solution to the problem I've been wanting for years has finally come!

When I reached my mother, Tira, I was out of breath and panting. The long run from my distant cave to out den was tiring - especially if you're sprinting it. I felt like my lungs were going to burst, but I was too excited to care. I sat right next to my brother, in front of my mother and father.

"Valdis! You look like you are going to pass out! You shouldn't have run all the way here," scolded my mother. She put on a face that was half worry and half annoyance.

I shook my head, "I'm fine." I took another deep breath and settled, though I was still tired. I saw my sister come trotting up, she obviously didn't care as much as I did to sprint the whole way here. She sat next to me, her eyes on out parents. I pricked my ears to their direction, paying all my attention to them.

"Now that we are all gathered," started my mother, her voice firm and strong. "I would like to talk to you about your trip through the old forest of Isket. You will have to go through many dangers to get your special armor, and face them with bravery."

At that, I tarted to get worried. I was not the best at bravery, I was a shy, quiet fool who didn't like danger or chaos. "Um, do we have to go through the forest for our armor?" I interjected. I don't think I would even last two days in that forest, let alone travel through the thing to find a cave!

"Yes, Valdis, you have to. It is part of our custom," my father answered in his deep voice.

My mother nodded, thanking him for his answer. She kept explaining, "You will take turns going into the forest and getting your armor. Do I have any volunteers to go first?" She scanned the row of her pups, looking for any takers.

I jumped to my feet. "Me! I'll do it first!" The faster you do it, the quicker it'll be over and the sooner I'll have my armor.

Mother nodded, "Anyone for second?" She looked that my other two siblings, but frowned when no one volunteer. "Okay, you will do it second and you will do it third." She pointed randomly at my brother and sister with her tail, assigning them their turns. She turned to me, "Valdis, this is a very dangerous path. You must be very careful and smart. I know you will do fine." She rubbed her muzzle on my head in affection.

I smiled, even though it was really embarrassing, I didn't care. I wanted all the comfort I got when I was about to plunge into a deadly forest. "I'll be careful, I promise," I murmured into her ear.

We pulled away and she announced, "You will leave at dawn." Then she walked over to her bed, giving me a encouraging smile on the way.

My father followed, smiling proudly to me. He settled next to Mother and closed his eyes.

Suddenly I felt butterflies in my stomach. I decided that sleep would calm my nerves. I padded over to my bed and curled up, laying my tail over my nose. I shut my eyes and drifted of into a deep, nervous sleep.

When I woke, everything from last night came crashing down on me. There was a mix of excitement and utter terror. I trotted over to my parents, who were muttering in their corner of the den. They kept casting worrying glances at me as a approached, so I assumed that they were talking about the initiation and I. I reached them and cleared my throat, "um, isn't it dawn? Aren't I supposed to go now?"

My mother nodded sadly, obviously distressed about my leaving. "Yes, it is time." She walked outside into the rising sun. She beckoned me to follow, so I did. My father was right behind me. "Come with me while your siblings are still asleep. We are going to the forest now."

I followed her through a field and other landscapes, finally reaching the forest. It was very green, to tell you the least. I stared at the bushed and trees that were blowing in the wind. I wondered what creatures were in their just waiting me to arrive so they could tear me to shreds.

Mother nuzzled me one last time and gave me a good lick on the cheek. "I love you, don't you forget that." She backed away to let my father say good-bye.

Father walked up and grinned, "I'm so proud of you. You know that, don't you?" He joined my mother, standing close for comfort.

I nodded to both of them, "Of course." I turned around and headed into the forest. Not looking back, I was going to do this. Like I said before, the faster you do it, the quicker it'll be over and the sooner I'll have my armor. I broke through the first line of bushes and surveyed my surroundings. It was jaw dropping.

Sunlight streamed through the trees, casting spider shadows on the lush, green ground. The trees looked big and ancient, like they've been there for centuries. Mushrooms grew pleasantly on fallen logs and flowers I've never seen before where planted everywhere. I stared around, awed at the beauty. I thought to myself, Surely no creatures could be lurking in the beautiful place!

I spoke too soon.

There was a rustle in the bushes. A pair of red eyes stared back I me. I froze. Suddenly i broke into a run. This is crazy! I thought, sprinting as far away from the beast as I could. I heard heavy footsteps chasing after me. I kept running, terrified from what was behind me. I didn't stop until I knew that it was gone. Until I didn't hear it breathing anymore. Until it felt safe.

After a very long time of running from monsters and scavenging for food, I finally saw the big cave. I entered the opening, staring into the darkness before me. I could hear the drips of the water falling from stalactites, echoing throughout the cave. I held my breath and padded deeper in the cave, the darkness swallowing me. I was finally going to have a solution to my shyness.

Valdis chose a somewhat complicated armor design for himself. He choose this to try and make his shyness go away and stand out more. Although, this isn't the most elaborate design because most of his quietness is still there. He did not want to stand out too much.

Esca blinked open his crimson eyes. Blinding sunlight streamed down from above; he shook his majestic head. Pulling himself to his paws he cursed himself inwardly, he had slept till noon! He yawned, and headed on. Suddenly, a strange smell hit his nose, one that made him rinkle it. He followed it, interested in what it might be. Following the scent, he was led just to the edge of the Warrior's territory. He was confronted by the most horrid of beasts. It's brown fur was matted down it's spine and it's black lips dripped foam. Pale foam. This animal was diseased. Diseased animals had to be delt with swiftly. Typically, that was a Warrior's job, but there was no time to find a Warrior now. Bracing his paws wide, his ears flat, tail out; Esca pulled back his lips and growled fiercly. Making a lung that covered the ground in only two bounds. He soared over the beast and landed firmly on it back, digging his fangs into it's flesh. The horrid smell stung his nose, but he held on. The beast roared, rearing up on it's hind legs. It bucked around, trying to through Esca, but with little hope. Suddenly it flipped over its own head, crushing the wolf beneath it. Esca yelped as the crushing weight was thrown down on him. He grit his teeth as the beast pulled off him. He flipped himself painfully out of that weak position, only to feel sharp pain in his side as he was thrown many wolf-lengths away by a huge paw. Regaining his paws, he turned slowly to face his challenger, a fierce light in his red eyes. Taking up his attack position again, he howled like a Warrior howled. Esca charged his enemy with a furiouse rage, he lept clean over the slashing fangs, landing on the creature's neck. He sunk his teeth into the soft scruff. The beast twisted and turned, but Esca held on. Frustrated, the monster plunged toward the edge of Warrior territory. Esca's eyes widened as the crazed creature raced toward a sheer drop, many hundred feet into a gorge filled with water. Freeing his teeth seconds before the plunge, the wolf dropped off his doomed enemy.
The creature yelped as its claws scrabbled for a hold on the edge before collapsing over. Esca padded over to the edge, looking down. All he saw was the rushing water. My enemy has fallen.[i] he thought. Suddenly, the dirt beneath his paws gave way, and Esca was tumbling toward the rushing water. With a crash he plunged below the serface. Paddleing furiously, his head broke the waves and he gasped for air. He turned to face front when something huge loomed into his vision. With a sickening crunch, he smashed into the tall rock. Turning around, teeth set in pain, Esca sought for a grip in the smooth stone. Finding one, he pulled himself free of the water's icy grip. He dragged his dripping body onto the top of the rock, collapsing there, panting. Finally, he struggled to his paws and looked around. His only way out was to jump from rock to rock. Esca grit his teeth and made the first lunge. He landed, only to have his back paw slip, sending him sprawling on his belly. Getting up, he jumped to the next rock to the next, each landing with a grunt. At last he threw himself at the steep stone wall, dragging himself up it, pebbles rained down into the water below. At the top he collapsed, gasping for breath. He lay like that for a while, than got up and limped back the way he had come.
The way back to the den, he thought of what he had just done, and lifted his head proundly. He would go home and tell his family, [i]not like they are going to believe me. he thought. And he was right, they listened but did not believe. But that was only until the Warrior's Of Isket found the creature's trail and followed it to the scene of Esca's battle. Then they believed him completely after that. Now Esca looked foward to his next adventure, finding his Warrior armor.
