Flurrypaw yawn and stretched his long body out in the sun where he was just waking from a short nap in camp. It was a much warmer day then usual so he had over heated himself a bit when he had been hunting earlier. Not that he caught anything yet. His short legs and long body were different from the other cats so he was having a harder time learning to hunt their ways. The clan was not kind to him about that before the flood. He was a kittypet and was bullied but many others for being different, small, and a kittypet. After the flood, and being left behind to die in it, he had found others that had stayed and survived. They were his clan now and he was happy. They were all different in their own ways, not short like him, but still nice knowing he wasn't alone. Sitting up he looked around, he was the only apprentice in the camp by the looks of it. His gazed landed upon Eclipse, the leader of this new clan, before hopping up and trotting to join her. "Good afternoon Eclipse." He purred.

"It's very nice for hunting." He meowed in reply. "What makes you say that?" He glanced around, taking in the beautiful sunny day. He couldn't see any signs that the weather would turn bad.

She leaned in and whispered like she was telling a big secret: “My left hip aches when snow is coming,” she told him.
“But don’t tell anyone. Makes me sound old,” she joked.

"Snow?!" he meowed, looking at this long heavy fur. Sure he'd be warm but he'd also be covered in snow balls and he wasn't looking forward to it. "I don't think you're old though." He turned back to her and purred.

“Sure feels like it,” she muttered. She stretched, yawning. “I can’t wait to see the fresh-kill pile by the end of the day. A day like this, all the animals should be out.”

He picked up the rabbit and began strolling back to camp. He only made it just outside of the meadow when he stopped dead, his fur standing on end. He dropped the rabbit and began sniffing around, hissing.
“Foxdung,” he growled.
“Someone from another clan has been here!”
