Me and my girl Fluff have a very good relationship where if need be she will let me gently restrain her and in return I am very aware of how she's feeling and give her often breaks. It works very well for us, afterwards she always comes for a bit of comfort which I love because I need it as much as she does.

The older boy Ash however, is an absolute nightmare to have to do anything with in that regard.
Neither me or my dad have managed to obtain a close enough bond with him that he'd take much comfort from us, not that it's made any difference in the past when my sister did this. Granted it isn't usually a problem, but we had to worm them all tonight.

We made the mistake of using a paste- I'm quite panicky about the pill method (they wont take in crushed/hidden) but next time I guess I'll have to bite the bullet! It managed to get all over me, all over him, and only a fraction actually went in his mouth.
I feel really bad for him and he's going to all of his comfort places (hiding on my bed or the shower) but I sat down with him and he finally let me clean the now-dried paste off his chest, not only that but he actually started to enjoy it which I'm happy about!

I always assumed I'd just leave him with my dad but I know they'll never bond properly and it wouldn't be fair to him, now comes the part of trying to develop a genuine bond with him. We've been making a lot of progress in the past few months which I'm happy about but we've still got a long way to go.

Playing is a great way to bond with your cat, especially if you can find a game he loves. Another thing you could try is helping him catch bugs in places he can't reach, my cat absolutely loves this and calls me whenever she thinks she sees a bug.
And it might be a little harder since he's older, but you could try teaching him some tricks. I started teaching yuki some simple tricks this year, and she loves doing them.
And when he's scared of something, you might try using a blanket on your lap to make a cave for him to hide in so he associates you as a safe place. This definitely helps yuki whenever there's a "stranger" in the house.
One last thing, definitely do a lot of floor time with him. Just sit on the floor near him, play on your phone or something, maybe get out a blanket, and only pet him when he wants you to. Both my cat and rabbit love this and always come over to cuddle.

I hope these help at least a little bit, I'm not sure if you were asking for ideas or anything so sorry if you weren't ;w;

I figured that'd be a pretty good way but he has some pretty wicked claws so I'm a little cautious of how exactly we do that, he also looses interest relatively quickly which doesn't help. Me and my girl do that and she does the exact same thing, it's the most adorable thing and I'm so happy you suggested it! Unfortunately he's a little on hefty side and tends to be a little picky about being picked up and also, surprisingly he's not a bug chaser, seems to be more of a bird kind of guy!

He might be open to tricks, I know he'll definitely be open to the food aspect but he tends to be a bit stubborn so we'll see how it goes! I also like the blanket idea, he is definitely a hider so it might be something he'd like! I know he's try to source comfort from me in that sense a few times but I've just never known what to do since he doesn't want to be touched when he's that nervous.

I love floor time more than they do unfortunately, but when I do find him there I'll definitely keep that in mind!
And nonsense! I wasn't asking but I'm more than happy to receive, I'm a little out of my depth with him so I really appreciate the help. <3

Is it considered medical advise to ask what sicknesses one cat pass and get from the cat? I did look it up, but I still feel like I have Gary some kind of cold, and then got it back(but without the sneezing)

I don't think anyone could give you more information than a google search would.
But yeah, always best to consult with a doctor/vet.

i saw that you can share or just give Mononucleosis to your dog. just wondering if anyone here thinks they had ever given their cat a day cold, then got it back.. I accidentally cough on the cat because he is in my face, and then he almost sneezes by my eye, because he is in my face

He's 5 weeks old now and I still bottle feed him and he's starting to learn how to play, jump, and run now! he keeps following me wherever i go whenever he's awake now and he's so cute when he jumps like i was sitting on my bed which is like 3 feet tall and like i said he follows me he sat, stared and meowed at me and attempted to jump on my bed and he only got off the floor for like 3 inches from it and it's so funny and cute and he did it for 2 more times until i carried him to my bed. he's so precious :')

I forgot to update :0
Charlie is already 3 months old and grew! 3 weeks ago he just learned how to jump on the bed like properly jump lol
Actually he still has to grab on the bedsheet and climb all the way in order to get on top of the bed but that's a progress!
Also he may have grew a lot but he's still small for his age since he was small when he was born
He's sibling is like 1 and a half times the size of him already but he's such a sweet kitty! He always chase my foot whenever I walk and sometimes chase him back and he'll run and hide so we'll play hide and seek (kind of) like i'd hide behind this furniture and he'll look for me and then i'd jumpscare him lol
Ever since he learned how to climb on the bed he always come and sleep beside me

A couple months ago I lost my cat, Bonnie. Y’all gave wonderful advice. Thankfully, she was found!

Unfortunately, I have some bad news. Due to a series of unexpected events, I don’t think I’ll be able to keep my two cats, Jasper and Bonnie. I’ve had Jasper for nearly four years, and Bonnie for just over one. To say I love these cats with every fiber of my being would be a gross understatement. Since I discovered that I might not be able to keep them, I’ve cried several dozen times. I don’t have time to rehome them, so I’ll most likely have to bring them to the humane society. Although, from what I’ve heard, a lot of bunchers and hoarders target people who personally rehome their pets, so perhaps that’s for the best. I’m worried that the people who adopt my cats might not be good people. Or a buncher will adopt them and then sell them to a lab. Or a hoarder will adopt them. Or some bratty child who will get bored of them after a couple of years. Every horrible outcome is running through my head.

Does anyone have any tips on handling the entire process, or anything? I’m a huge ball or tears and nerves at this point.
