I first started adopting pets mid 2009 but didnt make an account til 2010 which was such a big mistake!

I started CS when I was in Year 7 (equivalent of 6th grade) and I didn't even have my own email at the time other than my school email so I had to sign up with my mum's email address. I used to go on my computer when I was supposed to be asleep and get astonished when she came to confiscate my computer because I didn't realise that she got an email for just about anything I did on CS! I'm now in my last year of uni and applying for a post graduate degree!

I first heard about CS when I was in elementary school, when I signed up I also had to use my moms email and she always got annoyed because every time a trade was sent/accepted she'd get an email. Back then there was no list pets and I know I've been on here for almost ten years but ever since the list became a thing I feel like I know nothing haha. There was just an easy going process in the early years for trading without the list, I'll catch myself looking through trades when I first got on here and have gotten so mad at myself for the pets I traded away that are now big list pets, to include both cerberuses which I've never been able to get again.

Hello everyone,

I see that this thread is basically dead but I'm excited enough that I just need somewhere to post. I started using CS when I was in middle school and as I entered into high school and university I became increasingly too busy to keep up but I still like to pop on whenever I can to maintain my account, however infrequent that may be. Today I decided to take a break in between chapters of a book report and found myself logging in again and I noticed that some pets I adopted 10 years ago as common are now rare! I never thought I'd see the day! I truly cannot believe it. I just needed to share with someone. I think it's pretty cool.

Miss you, CS. I hope to be back again as a regular user again some day.

This was probably one of the coolest parts of coming back and getting my account back, to me. I'm still on really infrequently, but the first time logging back in in years and seeing absolutely how many rare pets/very rare pets I had now was mindblowing. I remember they all used to be mainly common or uncommon. Kid me would've lost their mind.

This pet was the first one I ever adopted, without an account

I now have a copy on my account XD

But yeah I'm glad I've at least popped on once a month for all my years here on CS... I've gotten so many pets without need to go back and collect them all! Glad I joined in 2010 as well, otherwise everything would be so daunting... And getting to my dream of a full CS feline collection would probably be impossible!

A lot has changed from checking to see if a notice from the Pound saying it was open to crazy adoptions to nowadays with an upgrade in rarities. I remember when things were mild compared to now. Bullying and threats are still around, but I believe they are being managed better.

I feel the exact same way. My little mind would have been blown back when I registered exactly 10 years ago today if I knew how rare some of the pets I was adopting would come to be. 😆

I'm so glad I've kept up, however infrequently and I'm so glad CS has always been there for me when I've needed a space to hang out on the internet. Some of the replies after I've posted and throughout this thread are talking about what's changed but every time I come back I'm mostly happy about what's stayed the same. I'm so glad that CS still feels very similar to how I've always remember it with minor changes but not so many that older players who aren't able to be on all the time aren't alienated.

Exactly, this is something really, really special for me too. I figured I'd come back and everything would have changed, but really at it's core this website is still the exact same, and it's amazing. The community is way bigger I think, but the game is still the exact same, and the joy at getting your favorite pet is still the same, etc. It's very sweet.

Seeing the rarities jumped when I got back honestly scared me a bit xD I barely got the economy before and now I've got a new boatload of rares, no Rares List to go by, and an OMG so rare that... I honestly am clueless how to value.

It's been an adventure coming back. But man I missed this site.
