Well, when I first caught a glimpse of the donation sheet, I must have literally gone awestruck. The simple interconnection of black and white connect in a fantastic way. The placement of her spots and stripes look as if they were done with a heavy purpose; something within. The stripes themselves look as if to be drawn by a fine artistic tool, the artist used only a pencil so narrow as to perform such intricate lines. And what really sealed the deal with my heart, were the dipped toes and bobbed tail. The bobbed tail really is quite beautiful in itself, it's perfect size creates a ripples of happiness when the animal is excited. [and those leg stripes are something to fantasize about; such a design would be the central purpose to my doodles for the weeks to come.]

[ notions for Amour ]

The sweet yet structured design of this creature is simply begging to be included in some epic story of the sort. Her story line has neatly been contemplated out for weeks, but I have simply been looked for the perfect being to take center stage. Her ongoing blindness was an instant spark for this continuous idea that has been burrowing in the back of my mind for days, how could I not take advantage of the perfect character for this idea? I would also create limitless page of artwork, as well as a descriptive reference sheet.

{ timid }

Amour will only wallow in your fears, instead of venturing out on her own. She will slowly recede into her newly found lifestyle, a life of shivering and cold hearts. If she finds a pure relationship, she will never want to look directly into your compassionate eyes.

{ coy }

When sorrow choked at her heavy heart, Amour would always attempt to search for adventure. Whether it be a bird or an interesting stone, she would pursuit her goal. When she claimed the honor of self-fulfillment, within the reaches of her own dismal heart, she found pride.

{ curious }

The complexities of Amour's mind seem to puzzle herself at times, but once she knows what she needs to find out, nothing will hinder her notions. If she spots something peculiar, one of which might be a fox-eared bat, she will do anything in her power to sniff every nook and corner of the animal. Even though her curiosity is something to be walked with pride, it will get her in desperate situations more than often.

{ the beginning }

"Maman, Papa?"
The sickening sound of a heavy mass pushing its way through mud slithered into the den, and sparked the naive curiosity of Amour and Seuleur. Amour backed away from the den entrance, to give an ill Seuleur an assuring nudge before peering outside the opening in the den wall. What met her infant eyes caused the chain reaction that would stop her childhood in a train wreck.

The narrow, disjointed body of her mother was collapsed in a heaving heap with her eyes closed in a precious manner. From afar, the muscles in Amour's ears jumped at the sound of her father's distinct shrill cries of horror. The veins in her legs surged with paralysis; her speech choked with terror, "Maman, why.... ?" She merely fell into the fur of her mother's chest, "Mon Amour, someday you won't have me near... you will be alone and afraid..." The last, murmured words of Amour's mother dripped with the acid of a mother's anxiety, each one to follow Amour permanently. With warm tears delivered from her soul, she fell asleep alongside the ever growing cold body of her mother.

{ the attack }

Amour woke, knowing that her parent's were no longer with her. She cried the last tear she would summon, and licked her mother's snout before beholding a most peculiar creature. A large creature, with a body of black and a snout of brown, slightly larger than her own feeble size, precariously stumbled into Amour's view. The animal shook its head briefly, and called out an earsplitting cry to an unknown receiver. Although, this elusive receiver soon blundered into Amour's sight.

It's large jowls dripped with the saliva of an acrimonious state, and her eyes flashed wildly with each stumbled movement of Amour. The animal roared loudly; gingerly dispatching the miniature beast elsewhere. With curiosity pulsing through her veins, Amour took a silent step; much too silent to be ignored. The monster, pivoting on its back feet, stood to glare closer into the young Lynx's eyes. Amour, taking this as a gawking reaction to her own marvel, raised her head and began to perform a howl, when, in a flash of pain and defensive actions, the female beast swung at the pup.

The thick scent of the creature hung on Amour like a smoggy blanket. The tears that formed at the edges of the pup's eyes were first shed once her glimpse of her scars were confirmed. She would have a permanent memory etched on her skin, of the time when the beast took her sister. She woke up, and immediately began the regret. The sorrow that forged the warm tears spread pain through a pitiful Amour like wildfire. Once she realized her sister was taken by the creature, her love for the inspiring sibling that was once hers, grew within her heart.

In its entirety, the nearly fatal attack strengthened Amour to point of mental exhaustion, but also gave her the purpose in order to recognize her debt for her sister. To help her retrieve the ill sibling that helped her face her fears and whom gave her hope. The challenge was nothing short of impossible for a juvenile lynx cub.

The scent of Seuleur was musty, and muddled around with the thick wax of the monster's smell. For Amour, it was as imminent as a beacon shining its glare at night. With her button nose cushioned against the ground, Amour began her life journey; something that would prolong its activity mightily throughout her life.
