Dear Enid,

You have been a joy. A pleasure to have and to watch grow. It has been wonderful watching you change into something I could have never imagined. Each day has been a surprise- and you have helped me become even better- more patient, and more understanding. My worries feel so less when you are around. Watching you grow has been a delight. It is calming in ways I do not understand. I feel at peace.

Thank you Enid- I am glad to have named you and raised you. I hope you do well in the ocean- and I know you will. You will be going with many friends. Everyone has done an excellent job on their corals. I hope you grow even stronger apart.

Dear Vivian,

It’s been so nice getting to know you during these past few days here at the resort. You’ve been such a sweet little coral, even though you’ve never said or done anything. I’ve always known at heart that despite your small frame, you’re one of the biggest sweeties I’ll ever meet.

Unfortunately, it is time to say goodbye now. We had a good run, but you’re all grown up and it’s time to release you back out into the deep blue sea. I’ll be releasing you off of the shores of the Calming Coast, just like I promised you earlier. I’ll miss getting to see you up close, but my hopes with releasing you here is that the waters will remain clear enough for me to still see you shine from the surface. I hope you’ll grow big and strong, so you can house many more friends and continue to express your loving, bubbly personality.

I’ve learned a lot from your in what little time together we’ve had. I’ve developed a much better understanding of the environmental issues surround marine life, and I’ve learned many ways that I can contribute to reducing
and solving these issues, so that animals like you can have a longer, happier life.

Thank you to everyone for participating in Reef Rescue! The Post for Prompt 8 will be updated in a bit, but I wanted to post this as the closing first.

Enke looks at a select few of you, and almost looks impressed as he looks at your corals..

Enke looks particularly impressed as he looks down at your coral in their tank. He ponders for a moment, and reaches into a box in the back of his hut. When he comes out, he places a badge in your hand that reads 'CORAL CADET'.

"Congratulations.. I think this is the best I've ever seen a coral grow in such a short time. It looks like a few of you have even grown some particularly rare colors.. and mutations I've never even seen before." He looks in the direction of said corals with wonder. "I'll be keeping these under close watch when they're released, so you can come back and see them any time."

You look at him, and squeal with excitement. "Are you saying I can come visit my baby and take them on a vacation tour around the resort again? Or go on picnics? Talk about their coral crushes-"

"Sure, yes!" Enke interupts you, desperate to get you to be quiet as he feels a headache coming on. "Now please, get out of my shop - and don't tap the glass."

Such a gentleman, as always.
