Is it necessary to use the given prompts in a contest, or are they just provided to assist with the process?

Both, in a way. The prompts are provided for you to assist with the process and it is necessary to use them in the contest. I will be judging the contests according to how the prompt is answered, so leaving out the original prompt all together will knock off points for you.
There are certain contests that I’ll allow you to change out for your own prompt/keyword if you would prefer to use it over the ones provided. An example would be Blue’s contest, if you would prefer to use a different word than the ones listed then you are welcome to do so once you get permission from me. Not getting my permission/not stating it on your form, will result in an accidental loss of points, thereby decreasing your chances of winning.
Other contests you cannot change the prompt at all and the question must be answered. An example of this would be Mum’s contest.
