trying out for bram! I've got to go in a few mins, so hopefully you don't mind that it's all condensed into bullets. might edit later to make it less ugly

-AU: In the same AU as my kals Isaiah, Dio, and my newest kit. Basically it's a modern AU where I'm focusing more on development of personalities individually and relationships between the characters more so than really expansive worldbuilding. not gonna lie though, his aesthetic also works with my fantasy au with the rest of my kals, so I could put him in there somewhere down the line and give him a really cool history and such.

-Personality: I'd imagine his personality to be something around lawful neutral. he's driven by protecting those around him and himself, and he isn't overly concerned with the ramifications of doing so. he values self-preservation, or in other words puts himself before others (but not in a purposefully selfish way). he's not overly charismatic, nor does he have some interesting history. he comes from a meek household that was poor but not terrible-off. not really too much of a talker tbh--he expresses himself through the activities he engages in and the way he acts. he's pretty street and emotionally smart, but never developed book smarts.

-Relationships: He'd be the best friend of my kal Isaiah; it's a dynamic i'd be really focused on developing to flesh out his personality further. Isaiah loses his mother to early onset Alzheimer's when he's in his mid teens (his father was a run of the mill deadbeat dad lmao), so he leaves his family home, his brother, and his sister to make a living so they don't have to struggle the way he did carrying the burden of the world. i'd imagine them to meet in some odd job Isaiah picks up around their late teens/early 20s. he'd teach Isaiah to care for himself, while Isaiah would teach bram to be less selfish.

-Occupation: I'd imagine a job he'd have at a young age is a bodyguard or bouncer gig. it would really challenge him to reevaluate his himself vs. others ideology as well. i'd also enjoy exploring the moral ramifications of things he might see i.e. various illegal activities, vigilante types, etc. it'd probably be fun exploring that type of job too because i'd have to determine whether it would make him harder or softer to the outside world

history;
people think of budpendest as an alien because they came from a planet where their soulmates are tied with each other, but something happened and they had to flee their planet to come to earth. they don't have a set gender because those never existed on their home planet. budpendest can speak broken english but literally does not know what any objects are - think ariel with the fork, using it to brush her hair. that's like how budpendest was. whatever they saw became normal to them although it may not have been normal for others.
while on earth they acquired some type of powers, where one could see into the future and the other saw into the past. they learn of fortune tellers along their journey and end up meeting an overseer who explains everything that's happened to their planet. it wasn't good and ended up having to stay on earth for the rest of their lives.

their personalities really clash but they think of themselves as one person because they're supposed soulmates. they're both hooked on each other and wouldn't want to have it any other way. it's kind of a mystery how they work together because their minds work differently. they're very money motivated so you can bribe them into doing just about anything with the right amount of cash. although they can be pretty sweet with each other, if someone crosses their path they should be prepared to face some wrath.

Very finnicky, timid, skittish. Three common terms to describe Xander that you're bound to hear, no matter who you ask. Even when asked himself, he knows full well just how skittish he can be, flinching even at the drop of a hat. However, despite his scaredy-cat side, he's naturally curious and will generally explore whenever possible-- that is, if his friends come along. He doesn't particularly like doing anything alone, not just for being timid, but simply because he doesn't really enjoy things as much if the memory is his alone. When asked, he'll bashfully admit that his memory isn't too good, and he enjoys events much more if he's not the only one remembering them.
Concept: Ghost/conspiracy hunter with his buddy Leo-- the two of them follow up on various social media posts and conspiracy ideas and try to debunk them! The group was originally made for fun, until they realized that there might be some truth to it after all...

hi! i'm here to apply for camilo, budpendest, and bram.

for camilo i actually own their sibling so i'm thinking to possibly connect them because i enjoy a good long lost sibling trope. i think he would make a good sheriff of their town and a mentor to my girl maggie. he's an energetic and eccentric kal just like his sister cora and a real favorite at halloween parties.

for budpendest i'm thinking a traveler of the mountains with exceptional talents and gifts for seeing spirits and other worldly things. he's thousands of years old and even credited to building the first civilizations along those very mountains. he's almost like a crypted really and legend says if you see him you're blessed with good fortune and longevity.

and for bram i'm thinking an apprentice who serves móð, queen thema's huntsman, that becomes kind of like her champion. he's like one of those kids who was raised by wolves and his sacred duty is to protect his pack (his queen). he's stubborn, loyal, and a little arrogant and a perfect antagonist towards those trying to defeat the queen. he duels people to keep her safe.

he's a forlorn lighthouse keeper (after growth), who lost himself to legends years ago. in his old life, he was a folklore professor, trying to preserve ancient traditions that would be lost to the modern day, recording hearth fire prayers, translations of gaelic grandmother's fables, seeking the origin of faerie and selkie stories (old magic). there was always an unearthly quality about him, that people either took as charming or unnerving.

eynhallow (holy isle) with crumbling cobblestone walls, native sea birds dot the skies and soar above rich shrubbery and an uninhabited island. the isle of eynhallow, only able to be visited once a year, once owned by the legendary finfolk, is now a pristine picture of the past. it was rumored by locals to be both of this world and of another.

people of the town respect him; his position as lighthouse keeper has saved lives. but no one can pinpoint when he took on the job, or anything about his personal life. he's been seen wandering above the cliff sides at night, simply in contemplation (as far as we know).

i still have a lot to develop for backstory and all, but the general vibe is very 1800s/1900s 'wandering hero who feels out of touch with the world' Romantic (wanderer above the sea of fog), mixed with cosmic horror and british folklore. here's some more info on the island, which i plan to be a big part of his story -- is he out of his mind, or does he really have a deeper connection to the land? hint hint, possibly descended from fae, that kind of thing

I was thinking she would be an apprentice alchemist of sorts to my boy Howl and tend to his house while he’s away. She’ll be timid, unsure of herself and of course lonely when her friend is away.
But being based in Rome, she wants to be more than some maid even if Howl is kind and treats her as a friend. She lives where gladiators fought to the death for glory and wars raged on but were rarely lost. I’d have to work on her backstory and find her some friends, but she’d one day get the guts and inspiration to travel and find her true purpose; and Howl would of course support her fully since he’s seen almost half the world in his day.
Onyx won't always get her way and it'll be a struggle but she knows she can find something bigger in this world. Being connected to Howl, she'll likely also twine in with Allariia and her children. If anyone can spike inspiration it would be the rambunctious Ajax. Confident, cool, easy to talk to she'd fall for him only to find he has eyes for someone else. Even if she's jealous, it becomes clear she isn't going to find her place here either. She's happy to have made new friends, but instead travels with Allariia's daughter Orca to open her eyes a little.
The world is unfair, mean and makes her sad sometimes. Howl always made it sound weak and frail but his words did nothing to change her mind after seeing how terrible some kalons could be. Orca is positive though and pushes her along; no matter how unsure she may be. She ends up in the big city and settles down in a repair shop to start saving money. Her journey begins and ends with progress, she knows she can find her purpose but it can't hurt to slow down and smell the flowers either.
