Hm...I typed in “salmon faux fur” on google shopping and found some. However, if those aren’t the colors you are looking for, try using other colors that are similar to the one you need! That’s what I’ve done, and sometimes you just may find the right shade. You can try searching “light pink faux fur” or “peach faux fur”. Just try experimenting with different searches, you’ll find it!!

Alrighty. I found some baby pink sades that should work just fine.
So, i'm planning to make my first fursuit of this character

Should be pretty easy, the markings aren’t very complex. The eye dots may a bit hard depending on how small you make them, but my first fursuit had those too and I don’t remember having much trouble with it.
Speaking of my first fursuit, I’ve been thinking of taking her apart and rebuilding a new head. It’s a resin base by dvc, so it would just be the fur and ears scrapped, and possibly a new paint job on the jaw. I would love to add some extra foam by the cheeks, muzzle, and eyes for more expression and the ears definitely need to be bigger. The inside also desperately needs padding and lining as all it has is some elastic to keep my head in place right now. I’d probably make it just a basic partial and add paws and a tail. It would be a nice project to work on and I can sell it afterwards, though I might just keep it in the hoard. I could even try adding leds in the eyes or claws.

Here's the progress for my suit c: I made the nose bigger and sewn in the front of the face. It's still a pickable nose so I can make a stick my finger through it. The front teeth are just placeholders so they're not the real teeth, I just love maws. I wanted to keep the cost down for faux for, and since I had leftover micro fleece from my kigu project, I thought it'd be perfect to add in since it's very lightweight and less expensive. I'll be adding the faux fur soon, I can't wait! I you have any tips or though, please suggest some, thanks !!

Birb wrote:Hiya! I already have most things decided for if/when I purchase my suit; I'm just looking for some tips on how to actually save up the money for it.
I found a wonderful custom partial maker on Etsy who charges a base of approximately $600 USD for a "full" partial (head, handpaws, feetpaws, tail, arm sleeves) plus a little extra for additional fur colors, additional accessories, etc. — but notably, not extra for any particular species or pattern complexity. I really love their style, so as long as their shop stays up, I really do have my heart on them.
I don't have a job due to being a disabled minor, but I do receive a sizable monthly allowance from my divorced dad on my own debit card. Already about $30 a month is taken away for an Adobe CC plan + charity donations, so if I calculated correctly, it would take me more or less 12 months of 0 other spending to get the full amount.
The issue is that I suppose I'm often impulsive with more frivolous online purchases. December and January are somewhat of exceptions, due to this month having to buy presents and next month having to renew an annual subscription, but even other months, I frequently spend my money on ultimately useless things without planning to do so in advance.
I don't seem to have any form of savings account right now, and I have no idea how to make one...
So I come here to ask: if you bought an expensive ($500+ USD) fursuit, how did you save up for it? Was there anything in particular to help motivate you? Especially if you struggle with impulsive behavior, I would appreciate some personal experience stories if you feel comfortable sharing!
Thank you. Have a great day!
A big factor to save money would to make a savings account where you're less able to spend it. I have a job so it's easier for me, I put at least 2/3 of my paycheck into savings and about 1/3 to spend, that way I have more money to spend in the future.
you can also do commissions to help save for money, like maybe you can write or draw? there's also online jobs you can do online depending on where you live, so you don't actually need to go out and do stuff. I'm not sure how old you are but most accept at least 16 or older (also depending on your country and laws etc)
