DAILO LORE

PRONUNCIATION
"Dailo" is pronounced Day-Low. Plural is "Dailos" or Day-Lows. More than one Dailo in a group is named a Pack. Infant Dailos are called hatchlings.

BASIC INFORMATION
Dailo lizards are small dinosaur-esque reptiles, many only tend to grow about 2 feet in height. Dailos are purely carnivorous and strangely prefer cooked meat. Once great predators in wooded areas they have adapted to have two strong toes on their front feet, and three large flat toes on their back feet. Scientist research has shown their feet to be great at both climbing and noise reduction. Dailos have long since been domesticated, but their hunting habits relied on stealth and a strong bite. Dailo lizards are not capable of noise above a soft hiss.

BEHAVIORAL STRUCTURE
Dailos Lizards have a pack-based structure, and have a tight nit family unit. Each pack has 1 alpha, be it an alpha female or an alpha male. Alphas look extremely different than a Sub [Normal] Dailo. Sub Dailos are more common than alphas. Sub Dailos can maintain a pack without an alpha, but run the risk of being run off territory due to the lack of an Alpha in the pack.

MATING HABITS
Alpha Class Dailos are unable to breed, and therefore cannot produce offspring. Sub dailos make up the heart of the pack, and alphas are there for structural support. Sub dailos are unable to breed with the same gender (unless human intervention is used). When 2 dailos breed the male creates an elaborate nest and keeps it warm until the female is ready to lay. The female will lay 3 eggs. the male will bring food for the female until the eggs are hatched. A first-time dailo couple will have a 40% hatch rate for each of the eggs. Some eggs will not hatch. A seasoned couple will have an increased hatch rate depending on how many eggs hatch from the batch. An aged dailo that has been through the routine over a long period of time can usually incubate and maintain all 3 eggs and get them to hatch. Baby dailos grow extremely fast due to pack nurturing and can age in a matter of days.

Epic or Mythical Traits are not allowed on adoptable dailos unless prior permission is granted, before making it.
Alpha Class dailos are not allowed to be created by artists. They are extremely rare.
Standard-Occasional Rarity dailos are allowed to be created by all artists. Scarce Dailos should be 1/10 of these dailos.

Additional/Missing Limbs (must be approved), More than 2 eyes, More than 1 head (must be approved), merdailo (must be approved), 5+ tails (must be approved), more than 1 set of wings (must be approved)

Alpha Class (must be approved)

Please keep a record of how many points you have and be able to link proof to each of your points, staff are not responsible for your points and if you do not have proof of gaining your points then we cannot count them.

dailos reserve the right to rehome any dailos if you are banned under specific circumstances.

GENERAL RULES


~Dailos are a Closed species, it is not permitted for a non-staff user to create their own.
~Selling or purchasing for any type of payment [art, currency of any kind, etc.] from non-staff is subject to re-ownership/ban.
~Do not post forms after the deadline, do not post forms for breeding without a breeding slot open.
~ Do not continually bump [more than once a week] an unjudged adopt, or attempt to blackmail/persuade the artist for you to obtain any adoptable.
~Roleplays and such are fine to proceed without permission.
~May be your fursona if you have proof of permission from the original artist.
~You may ask openly on the main page for breeding requests/trades.

OWNERSHIP RULES


~You may own 45 dailos. staff customs do not count towards the limit.
~Trading Dailos are only allowed if approved by a mod/owner/archive helper, with proof of both owners accepting the trade.
~Dailos are breed-able three days after ownership is obtained.
~You may only breed males with females unless proper 'magic' is used [see shops]
~Dailos can breed unlimited amount of times with unlimited amount of partners.
~Do NOT edit your Dailo's lines, if you want accessories added, etc. contact an artist.



ARTIST RULES


~Main artists must create an adoptable once every month. Your you will be removed from staff.
~Competitions must be judged within 2 weeks of the closing date. Or the owner will step in and judge.
~Extensions may only extend any competition a week, no longer.
~Trait rarities must be reasonable, do not make excessive amounts of Scarce level adopts without making lower rarity adopts.
~Gain approval from mods or an owner for any adopts with Epic or higher level traits.



NURSERY ARTIST RULES


~Nursery artists must open a slot once every two months.
~Babies with 'Epic' traits or higher must be approved by another member of staff.
~Artists may make batches for themselves by the approval of three other staff members, traits must be rolled by a mod or an owner.
