Hello everyone! I'm the proud mom of two Kalanchoës, a blue star fern, an Adromischus cristatus v. sconlandii, a Mammilaria gracilis and a M. elongata, a Chinese money plant, a venus flytrap, some kind of air plant whose species I just can't determine, an Opuntia tuna v. monstruosa, and around 20 Aloes (A. barbadensis v. chinensis) because they just won't stop having babies jfhgfdglskd

If any of y'all know about flytraps hmu 'cause I'm lost

Sure it isn't the same like a human/pet but anyway, you just put so much love and sometimes time in them and it is nice to see them grow '3'

hey plant lovers, it’s been a while since I’ve posted! I’d like to try and be more active on this thread, pff. anyways, since last time I came around, ferdinand (my tall cactus man) died, soo... rip him?? shfkkg sorry I couldn’t care for you better my dude

on a more positive note, I’ve got a lot of propagated leaves that have grown roots and little tiny leaves! a few of them I’ve already moved to pots, so I hope they do well. elizabeth, my tree, is steadily outgrowing her pot so I’m looking into getting her a much bigger one! and my one little plant is absolutely dramatic, if I fail to water her for a few days she gets all limp and droopy, so I water her and she perks right up literally within the hour, lmao.

none of my plants have been very expensive, all within the four to seven dollar range if we’re not including pots and soil and the like. I hope to order an air plant online soon though, so that could end up costing a fair bit ^^

It looks as though a few of us have lost plants this week ;-; My cactus (Clive) seems to have given up now and he just looks sadder every day. I tried to revive him but it failed :c

As for my pvn, who I have been water propagating after she decided to split in half, she's thriving now and I'm pretty sure I should have repotted her ages ago but I keep forgetting about it lmao I'm sure I'll do it someday. My ficus tree is also looking very healthy, as I was quite worried about her at first because she had a lot of dead leaves. I guess it was because the shop wasn't watering her enough.

I've not really bought any expensive plants ? The most expensive was probably about £5 which is a bargain tbh. I'm thinking of getting a money plant soon, mainly because they're practically impossible to kill, so hopefully that won't cost anymore than about £6.

@Poppy I bought a carnivorous plant recently too! It's a sundew and because I didn't know much about carnivorous plants I've been researching them. I didn't realise they were so interesting, I've found out that some of them flower and there are ways to propagate them, too. Apparently they prefer distilled water or rainwater because tap water can be bad for them, so I tried that and my plant seems to have perked up. It caught a fruitfly yesterday!

Not much is happening with my collection right now but one of my phalaenopsis orchids is growing a flower stem so I'm lowkey excited about that tbh.

I don't tend to buy expensive plants either, I think the most expensive one I have is my Dendrobium Sea Mary orchid, which cost me £6. Definitely think it was a bargain tbh because it's one of my few scented orchids and it smells amazing ♡
Sometimes I see plants for £15-£20 and I don't think I could bring myself to buy anything that expensive even if I had the money because what if something went wrong and it died o.o
Most of plants cost me somewhere between £1-£4.

probably my monstera deliciosa, £15 (a lot for me), and as much as i love it i've not been able to keep it happy the entire time i've had it and i'm just so disappointed in how ill it's been the entire time - if it dies i dont think i'll get another for a very long time

Welcome, Sam! I’ve always wanted a Venus flytrap, maybe one day I’ll have one! For now though I’ll just stick with my trees!
