I'd be extremely happy with getting a set of tokens after the fact as well. Can we expect that idea to be brought up with the powers that be for this year?

I'm on mobile so I can't check now, but depending on the amount of pets & items this year vs 2011 taking into account free things, I think an extension of time for the event is also a good idea.

Yeah, this would alleviate a lot of the current stress. I'd absolutely love this.

I work full-time. I live life. I don't neglect the dog or my partner. This is my third summer event and it seems to me that it all equals out in the end. I haven't hit the banner limit. I've gotten everything I've wanted from the events. Sold my extra tokens. Traded during the event Gave some stuff away. I've seen almost everything go through the pound and in free adoptions. Maybe I'm the exception, I don't know. I only collect what I like, but that's most of the stuff. So far I've gotten all but one of the fruits, but it'll come through the banners eventually. It is a little stressful, but it wouldn't be fun or interesting if it was easy. My opinion, of course.

I'm so relieved to see this thread. I actually came here hoping that I would find one so that I didn't have to feel like I was the only one "complaining". I hate to complain, and I also love CS and appreciate the staff, but I just want to collect without too much stress. I have gotten less resort chips compared to the other tokens, and of course that is what's needed to do the big trade ins. I was hoping we'd only have the two that needed resort chips, but tonight there's a third. My anxiety has been through the roof! I love CS, and I love collecting one of everything. Trading, and stressing out over collecting, not so much. I don't even like to post in the forums with the exception of bumping my trade thread. I just want to be able to fairly easily keep up with new pets and items as time goes on. Trying to get the old stuff is hard enough when you really don't like to deal with people and trade, but I'd like to keep it to a minimum. Time is not really my issue, as I have plenty of it at the moment, but that doesn't mean I want to be on CS all day and half the night. I can't imagine what busier people must be going through. I don't really have so much of an issue with the other events even though it takes a lot of time to collect tokens. I just feel that the summer event has gotten too complicated.

For working adult users, they may have an hour or two of free time they can spend, but that only gets them 3-6 tokens if they maximize their time with the banners. The majority of their free time is spent waiting.

If there were another method of receiving tokens, they could concentrate their entire hour towards grinding to make up for the rest of the day where they are unable to commit because of real life duties.

Regardless, I much prefer the idea of getting a set afterwards. I don't suppose it could be tucked in with the monthlies after the event, and left up until September or something like that? I know I somehow got Egypt stamps despite joining after the event ended.

I think a fairly big/large font announcement + perhaps throwing them in the Specials area of the store for say 1 month after the event ends (so like Sept 1st) gives people plenty of time to see and realize there are free items.. even if it isnt implemented for this summer, perhaps it can be for next summer/any event with more than the standard amount of tokens (3 to 4) - it seems more people watch the news/read it when they are waiting for the summer event to start, plus it could be an announcement left up at the top of the event so people have the entire event to know that they WILL be getting a collector's set (kind of like the envelope token at the end of last year's event when it was handed out)

maybe something like
"Don't forget to come back after token trade-in ends and collect your FREE item pack of tokens for dress ups!"

Yes - I support this. Or at the very least there being more organized token trade-ins.

I'm a casual player of CS, but I always love the Summer Events. I'm finding them increasing frustrating of late though, mostly because I'm putting in so much effort for such little gain. That's the main problem. Not that I haven't the time, not that the pets cost too many tokens, but that there are so many different tokens that it can take days to gather the correct amount for a single pet. I've been collecting quite diligently for two days now - I'm on the computer for on average 5 or six hours, so that's around 15 tokens a day, probably even a bit more, yet I've only been able to trade in for three pets after two days of gathering. Three pets for several hours worth of hunting. Pretty as the pets are, it's simply not worth the amount of effort put into it.

I think this is the main cause of complaint - not that the pets are too rare, or take too much effort, but that the effort that goes into getting them is not worth it.

Adding to this frustration is how things aren't labeled well. You could be spending your tokens on a pet you really want or on an item that you don't really want. You could fail the games of chance and then have to wait several more hours until you find a token to try again. Now I love surprises, but it would be helpful if there were some hints or clues about the objects in the NPC dialogue.

I don't mind putting in the time for these event pets, but I would like to get what I put into them at least. I know as the event drags on there will be more tokens and more opportunities to snag all the pets, but it's still frustrating. Especially knowing more pets will be added and I don't even have enough to get the ones I want now. I've played CS for years, and I remember events where I could collect a lot more casually and still get a nice amount of pets after a day or two. I just don't understand the need for this built-in delay by making specific tokens harder to get.

If you want event pets to be rare, why not just have people collect one or two tokens, then trade those in for all the others? I could collect four tokens, trade them in for two saplings, and then trade those in for a pet. If a pet is meant to be rarer, just up the number of special tokens they need.

My frustration over the tokens is what led me to seek out this thread, so at least I know I'm not alone =P I haven't won a single duck race despite dumping most all of my chips into it (to the point I wonder if I'm bugged/not doing something right), so now I'm desperate to find chips but they are few and far between. There's just so many other tokens in the pool of banner items.

I think if there's going to be such a variety of different tokens, maybe it's best not to have specific all-or-nothing trade ins like the ducks and golf course. I can swap pets from other turn ins usually but can't do that for the races and golf course if I keep losing, all while using up very rare chips.

Maybe every token has an equal spawn rate of 1/25. Or, if you only count groups, 1/4.
But they don't have an equal occurrence rate. You can't just count groups.
Not when one group has TWELVE tokens. That's 12/25 chance. Not 1/4.
So the chips have a 4/25 chance of spawning from a banner. Again. EVERY token can spawn at the same rate. But since one group has so many more of that type of token, it makes the chip group harder to find. And given that the chip group has a randomly won race game AND a golf game that pays out baby exotic birds, and the fact that there are 25 tokens, and 4 are coins, it's not equal.
At all. This is a weighted average. There's 4 groups, but 1 group has more "weight".

If I throw 12 fruits and 5 seeds and 4 seedlings and 4 coins into a bag, you are still going to get the coins (and seedlings) less. It doesn't matter what you're using them for. Doesn't matter at all. It doesn't matter you really only need one or two. It matters that there are 21 other items I'm more likely to pick out first.

And there's nothing wrong with making some tokens more rare in turn making some pets more rare.
But it does become a problem when there's so many things you can get as a payout. Over a dozen items and a handful of pets that you have can always get duplicates of every time you happen to find a coin from the banner. Of course you can trade. But when you take into account that some items and pets have their own rarity spawn rates, it becomes less a game and more a grueling job stretching sometimes into months after the game begging people to trade some object because a rare 4/25 token you used on a 1/3 chance game didn't give you a 1/4 or 1/13 pet or item.

When you have 3 NPCs asking only for chips, and there's only 4 chips out of 25 tokens, that's not equal. That's a 4/25 chance you get a token.

There's 4 chips, 4 seedlings, and 12 fruits and 5 seeds, making 25 tokens.
3 games require only chips [Camo x2, 1 for the pool, 1 for golf]
1 game requires only seedlings [Harold x3]
0 games require only fruit OR seeds [so far]
2 games require seeds or fruit [Lloyd x3 and Harold x3]
2 games require seeds or seedlings [Carica x3 and Spirits x3]

The min amount of chips you need for Camo, provided each time you get a new outcome = 8 to account for the hair
The min amount of chips needed for the race to get ALL goods provided you get new ones each time = 11, doing 4 fist places and 6 second places and one third place.
The min amount of chips needed for golf to get all undetermined, but let's say 2.
There are 4 chips of 25 total tokens.
Chips = 21 minimum

The min of tokens for Harold AND Lloyd = 18
There are 17 fruit or seed tokens of 25.

The min number for the Spirits = 12
The min number for Carica = 12?
There are a total of 9 tokens allowed for these NPCs out of 25 tokens.
Seed/ling minimum = 24

The min of tokens for Harold for seedlings only = 9

Assuming every time you click the banner and get a different token, it would take you 8.3 hours to get one of every token. Basing this time, off of the number of tokens, we can figure how long it takes to get everything at the utter bare minimum:
Likewise, 8 hours to complete all the chip games. 8 Hours to get all from Carica and the Spirits. This is all assuming every token we get from the banner and every pet/item we get is new.

There are too many tokens. This is too many tokens. The Medieval Fair was a perfect game imho. A few more items and pets would have been more than welcome. But this, this is excessive. This is a full-time job. And there is bound to be more to the event requiring more tokens.

No, games shouldn't be a hand out. Yes this is a trading game. But how many people come home from work and have time for this and have time to ENJOY it? No, it's not fair, you can't ever make it fair to everyone, but there's no reason to make it excessive. The Midieval Fair was fun because it was just a game, you didn't have to sit around for hours upon end everyday to get what you needed. I could come home from class and play for a few hours, have fun knowing I didn't have to sit there and F5 every 20 minutes everyday for so many hours it become unfun and boring, just to get everything I LIKED (not for completion).

Limiting payout and tokens or extending the time of the event or cutting the banner cooldown is really all I can think of if one wishes to have so many items and pets and a disparity of tokens required for them all.
