Username: SparkzTheShinx
Kennel Number: 31
Species and/or Breed: Water Spirit/Winged Deer
Use: I would like to incorporate her into the same story I have Stormsong in! (As well as art practice, of course) I just love her design, and think that a well-developed character can come from her! I had to shorten the story because I was afraid it would go over the max amount of words...
Name: Muni (explained in History)
Nickname: Accio (explained in History)
Gender: None, though prefers to go by “she/her”
Age: Unknown
Personality: Muni doesn’t let trivial matters bother her. She’s more of a “big picture” thinker, and leaves the trivial things to the minds of Lumos and Nox. She’s usually very calm, but if you threaten her herd, she can become a force to be reckoned with. A creature of unknown age, she has vast depths of wisdom, and will share her knowledge of you ask.
Overall, Muni has a kind heart. She loves nature, and the only creature she truely dislikes (with the exception of Silva) are humans. She easily forgives, but she won’t forgive the human who took her life.
History: Before Muni became a water spirit, she was a peculiarity. A deer, with fantastic wings. She loved them, even if it meant isolation from the rest of the forest creatures. Even her herd was wary at her, was she an eagle, like the daring ones that harassed their newborns? Or was she a loyal member of the herd? Muni’s mother had died during birth, and no one claimed to be the father, which only increased suspicions.
But the winged deer could soar above the herd and their judgement. Here, in the sky, there was no one to tell her that she was a disgrace. A mutant. A freak. Here, she could soar without a care. The fact that no one had named her wasn’t even a bother, Muni would let her worries flow around her like water, drifting past her without a care.
Muni had a chance to prove herself. As it turns out, having eyes in the sky proved to be useful for the herd.
One ordinary day, Muni’s herd was traveling in search of better food for the younglings, when they wandered into a clearing. It seemed rather ordinary, and the herd discovered that the rocks had salt on them. A good way to get minerals, they stayed within the clearing.
Muni, who was too high to see what her herd was doing, swooped down to get a better look. She guessed that had found a food source, as they still looked like beetles below her. Getting closer, the winged deer noticed a strange lump in one of the many trees surrounding the clearing. Upon closer inspection, it seemed to be a human (Muni had only seen two so far, so she wasn’t quite sure). A human, aiming a shiny looking stick at her herd.
Muni had heard stories about humans, how they used their sticks to kill fellow deer.
So, like a good member to the herd, she flew straight into him. That managed to fling the human out of the tree, where it landed on its back and lay still.
Her herd, startled, almost ran away, but noticed the still human and hesitated. They slowly approached, examining it.
Muni had saved them. Muni had saved them from the human.
That was the moment in which she was accepted into the herd.
Muni became their guardian, a beacon of protection to those ground-bound spirits. She would soar above them, and if she spotted danger, she would swoop down and save them from it. It was a good life.
But what comes up, must go down.
And a bullet to the heart is what completed the act. Maybe from below, Muni looked like a bird, a bird some hunter wanted to bring back to Earth. Whatever the reason, Muni died almost immediately, her body then fell with limp wings and plunged into a river below.
The winged deer wasn’t so sure what happened, after that. Suddenly, she felt like she was the water, one with this river. This river, given the name Muni River by the locals.
For a seemingly endless time, Muni remained there. Invisible to the locals, her form still that of a winged deer. This wasn’t so bad, even though the spirit was bound to the river, she could still watch an observe.
Until one day, watching just wasn’t enough. There were other peculiarities, she saw them with her own eyes. A tiger with diamond shards in its fur. A lion with a mane of obsidian. A human with sapphire growing from her skin.
Her river was wide, and they were contemplating how to cross it.
“Accio, boat!” The girl cried out, and Muni identified the language as Feline.
“Silva, you know that’s not going to work.” The lion said with a sigh to his voice.
“I wish it would work.” Said the tiger, to which the lion sighed again.
They needed a boat? Muni knew there was one further up the river. Abandoned, she could bring it to them, if she increased her current to dislodge it from the land. It took some effort, but she managed to bring the boat to them. It was a simple boat, constructed out of wood with paddles lying inside. And miraculously big enough for the three of them.
The human spun around to gaze triumphantly at the two big cats. “Magic is real.” She announced before hopping onto the boat.
Both big cats were staring at the boat is disbelief.
It was amusing watching them cross, a human at one paddle and the lion at the other, nearly breaking the wood between his jaws.
They seemed to be on a journey, and adventure. Suddenly, Muni wished to leave her river. To join them, to be a part of a herd again. She could be their guardian, oh, the more she thought of it, the more she longed for it.
At that moment, something broke. Her bond to the river, it shattered.
Once the herd had crossed, Muni rose from the river, her form materializing from the water. “Don’t leave me!” Her head morphed into the form of a cat, to be able to speak Feline.
The three jerked around to look at her in alarm.
But that was how they obtained the fourth peculiarity.
Companions: Obsidian Lion/Nox, Human/Silva, Diamond Tiger/Lumos
Extra(s): Can change sizes at will, though prefers to be small enough to fit in Silva’s totally not stolen purse. Can make water on tail solidify and liquify at will. Can phase through objects (not yet controlled). Invisible to those not peculiar. Head changed form based on which language she needs to speak, the image above his Muni using this ability to speak Canine. Muni is possibly one of the first peculiarities.
