I suppose my grandmother would count? She has this fascination with jewelry, diamonds in particular, and is always buying me stuff whether I want it or not. Unpopular opinion alert: I personally don't see the point. They're shiny rocks. Whoo. *lackadaisically twirls a finger in the air*

MY gemstones are plain old everyday rocks that happen to have a natural hole worn all the way through them. I hoard those things like mad, and make a point of looking for them in people's landscaping wherever I go! So if you count THEM, I guess I'm obsessed too. X'D

Prompt Answer;; Not really! I don't know anyone obsessed with gems and I've never really found them interesting. Sure, they're pretty but thats all really. Not gemstones, but I remember when I was little I used to collect smooth shiny white rocks from my school and put them in my pencil case. I like pretty patterned rocks in my reptile enclosures, I think gems would be cool in them if I could find a way to make them work. That's about as close as it gets.
