Daydream moved through the undergrowth, branches brushing her pale coat as she strode through dew-soaked grass. Her bright gold and blue eyes peered through the shadows of tall trees, as she sought a place familiar to her. She was counting seconds, counting steps, until she would arrive to find Maplewhisker, her beloved sister. Their last get together hadn't gone perfectly, she recalled the frustration of it... "Dreamclan wasn't my home anymore, Daydream..." She gave a stubborn huff, "But you... you didn't even try," ...she didn't like to think about it. They only saw each other once a moon after all. They should be enjoying it. She ducked carefully underneath a bramble, shuffling carefully below it as the thorns clung to her coat until she came out the other side, where parting in the canvas above allowed a peaceful, warm light to shine through. She didn't immediately spot Maplewhisker.

Maplewhisker slipped out of her den and bounded through the undergrowth, towards the familiar meeting place. Her fur prickled slightly at the memory of last times meeting. It's better if I stay in Wishclan...
She was afraid that Daydream may not come this time- perhaps the Molly was too mad at her. She slowed her pace as she neared the clearing. Leaping over a fallen tree and sliding her lithe frame beneath a bramble thicket and paused, not seeing her sister anywhere. She slid out from underneath the bush, several tufts of her fur clinging desperately to the thorns. "Daydream? Are you here?"

Her ears perked at the sound, and she turned to seek Maplewhisker, finding a darker mirror of herself standing a few foxlengths away. "I'm here!" Daydream called softly. She strode over to her sister, touching her nose affectionately to Maplewhisker's shoulder in greeting, "The brambles here are getting long," She hummed, eyeing the bush she came from, where loose hairs had clung, leaving Maplewhisker's scent. She licked Maplewhisker's coat, grooming her where the brambles had mussed her fur. "Was your travel alright?" Daydream's voice was sincere despite her commonplace question.

Maplewhisker sighed in relief, glad she was here. Sweeping her gaze over her sisters slightly ruffled pelt before padding closer. Daydream closed the distance and Maplewhisker swept her tongue gently across the she-cat's ear as she spoke.. "They are." She murmured, following her sister's gaze. She smiled as her sister licked the ruffled places in her coat smooth. "Thank you." She nodded then. "Yes, it was quite pleasant. I spotted a few mice and a squirrel and thought about catching one - but I'd rather go hunting with you." She licked a place on Daydream's coat where several tufts stuck out unusually. "How about your own travels?"

"You know," Daydream chuckled lightly, "mornings were never my thing- it's hard to roll out of my nest before sunrise. But it's worth it. I had to split up two apprentices today," She smiled, nuzzling Maplewhisker, "They reminded me of us, when we were apprentices." It was only natural for siblings to squabble like they had- Daydream was a very competitive apprentice, she recalled the challenges she posed, eager to prove something. She had no reason, but she mellowed with age and became rather sweet, remembering the quality time she spent with Maplewhisker, not for her own accomplishments or failures. It wouldn't have been worth ruining the kind of friendship and understanding they had. Even with the nitpicking and arrogance, they were forgiving and tolerant, she couldn't imagine Maplewhisker not being by her side.

[Mythz]

Maplewhisker purred. "Of course. I remember the times we used to spend squabbling." She nudged Daydream playfully. They used to fight every now and then, although not as much as Creekpaw and his brother, Juniperpaw had. "I love mornings." Maplewhisker said, gazing at the sky. "So much beauty in watching the sun make its way across the sky, listening to the birds wake..." She shook her pelt. "Sorry, off-topic." She chuckled. "Anyway, how's your time been since the last time we saw each other? Wasppaw became a Warrior - her name is Wasplight - and Alfie has become kinda protective of Ripplesky since Adderfang died. I just know Bluestorm and Gentlestar will be expecting kits soon! They'll be so cute! And I hope Emberfang finds someone soon - she's as annoying as ever!"

She listened to Maplewhisker's adoration- it was one of her favorite things about her sister. She was loving to the world around her, willing to listen, she gave Daydream a new appreciation for life. "We've had some rogues come by... Autumnstar hasn't assigned a new deputy after Aldertail disappeared. I think he was caught by twolegs..." Her voice was distressed and the fur on her back raised. "The apprentices are almost as competitive as I was, normally that'd be great. They're not competing to be better warriors- just to one-up each other. It's caused some grievance with the other warriors." Daydream stood and listened quietly for a moment, noting how quiet the forest was, "...We should go hunting while the morning thrush are out."

Maplewhisker finished and stopped to listen to Daydream. "We haven't seen rogues in ages! I hope you guys find Aldertail soon - he was a lovely tom." She paused for a moment, the concern from Daydream made her motherly instincts come flooding in. She licked her sister's head, nuzzling into her fur comfortingly. "Hopefully everything will go back to normal." She pulled back to listen to her sister. "We don't have any apprentices at the moment. I do hope the Apprentices grow up! Becoming a Warrior is more than being better than your friends. It's about loyalty and kindness..." She paused and Daydream was quiet as well. She glanced around the clearing, ears alert as her sister started talking. "We should! The morning dew is starting to evaporate - which means it will be a warm day today." She chuckled slightly. "Lets head off before all the mice scurry home!"
