Name of Serenche: Haru, meaning 'sun or sunlight'
Personality: Haru is a contradicting character, with many different faces and even more flaws. He struggles and strives to be normal, but for him it just isn't easy. He isn't social, and is awkward in conversation, if not rude or standoffish. Haru tries to be strong, but strength is something that he happens to lack, especially mentally. Perseverance is not in his vocabulary, and neither is brave or blunt. He can talk circles around the best of them, his inner walls remaining steadfast and loyal. Maybe that could be a term to describe him: loyal. But then again, how can one be loyal without strength? Perhaps he judges himself too harshly, and cannot see his own hidden treasures beneath his patch-work skin. Rarely, if ever, will something catch his interest; those things that do will not be forgotten easily.
History: He remembered. Soft, human skin, grabbing hands and chubby human cheeks. Warm nights, fuzzy blankets and the constant smell of peanut butter cookies. Back then, all he was made of was scraps of fabric and button eyes, perfectly assembled and brightly colored. Not a thread was out of place as he was dragged around by a blue eyed, curly haired toddler. Through thick and thin, they were together; through dirt and rain and ice and mud. They were an inseparable pair.
Over the years of many washings and treks through unknown places, the poor strange looking plushie became threadbare and dull. The only reminder of his past glory was bright, red button eyes. His beautiful cloth hung in gray tatters, the finest of threads jagged and loose. His sweet human soon became bored with her old toy, and moved on to ponies and Barbies, leaving her best friend all alone in the garbage can.
There he lay for three cold days and nights, hardening himself to the world and the loneliness that came with it. On the fourth day, a second before the garbage truck was able to lift it's cargo, a rainy wind blew through the street, shaking shutters and loose objects. The odd plushie blew away with the wind while the trees and grass strangely remained unmoved.
Over the town he flew, into a forest that called to him. The wind vanished as quickly as it came, and the tattered plushie fell through the thick trees of the forest, landing on the ground with a wet, pitiful plop. Stuffing and cloth landed haphazardly around him. Strangely enough an old woman was waiting for him, a portable sewing kit in one hand and a gummy smile on her wrinkled, kind face. She made quick work of the desecrated toy, sewing all his bits and pieces back on with strange thread, all the while humming a sweet, foreign melody. Her work was quick and efficient, and when she was finished, he looked as good as new, besides the faded color.
But then, something strange happened. Haru couldn't explain it even if he had a million words to describe it with. A tingling started in his toes, and a sound of popping and stretching fabric was heard, before suddenly, magically, the once-plushie was standing on four feet, balancing easily with his tail. But he wasn't so strange anymore; he was something new and unheard of by few human ears: a Serenche. He whirled around to look for the wrinkled old woman, only to find her gone, and nothing but a silver needle in her place. A bittersweet feeling swelled inside him: a mixture of his newly found freedom, and a longing for his lost little girl.
Which Cage?: 2
Other: Well, that was fun. XD So, I don't really have a character thread/site to put this baby on if I get him. The reason? I haven't adopted characters before and I just decided to try it out recently. But I promise if I win Haru that he will get his own little thread and tons of bought arts because I can't draw with my tablet to save my life.
