Backstory ;; Chikova was born into a pleasant world, with a pleasant family and pleasant neighborhood. He lived in the outskirts of the city, close to a run down parts store. His family worked well and he was given an excellent education, learning paws-on most of the time.
As a young wolf, he was a tinker and an inventor. He crafted all sorts of trinkets out of scraps of metal, some with electrical circuits. He made paw-made clocks, pocket-watches, and even metal pottery.
He would often journey with his family to different natural landmarks, caves, lakes, forests. He was vastly passionate about these places, with a love for nature and life. So much so, he decided put together two of his hobbies together and invent a mechanical companion.
Chikova spent nearly a year perfecting his creation, a mechanical bird that ran on looped electricity circulation. He named it Sahone because, almost instantly after he sparked up the electric circuit in the body, a flash of warm yellow light as beautiful as the sun illuminated the room. Chikova has to wince away until the flash dimmed and he was presented with the bird buzzing all through the air, flying around him like a maneuver pilot. The young wolf had created life within the bird, as it seemed to be conscious.
Very soon afterwards, he constructed a voice box small enough to fit the bird and Sahone became
From then on, Sahone has never left Chikova’s side. Chikova won an award for Intuitive Inventing from the city hall when he presented Sahone to the council and the press, and, when he became a young adult, he was asked to lead a class for beginning crafters and inventors and share his own knowledge. Of course, he was still young and full of ideas, he didn’t accept the position. But he did stop by the campus to give occasional lectures and share his experience building Sahone.
That is, until the world seemed to end... on a very unpredictable day. Mortars rained down on the city, flames engulfed the streets, and the world burned itself to the ground.
Chikova knew the world was at war between the different countries, and he took caution to build a bunker underneath his house. The first mortar that hit the ground was at the center of the city, but the ground shook all the way to the outskirts where he lived. He knew it was time.
Fear shook his core as he grabbed everything he could save from the house and shut himself and Sahone in his bunker. Days went on, dragging out until he didn’t know if it was day or night outside but he dared not go outside until the ground was still.
At last, he opened up the metal door and his heavy heart fell. His once beautiful, colorful home was plagued by dust and barren land. He could no longer see the distance buildings of the city, most were toppled over.
He first searched his own home for anything he could salvage, finding an old green collar his father wore as an accessory. When his parents passed away before the war, he kept his father’s collar and his mother’s paw bracelets.
He put on the collar, keeping it on throughout all of his travels.
His next stop was the city, Sahone at his side as always. From then on, he scrounged for any food he could find, in search of somewhere he could rebuild his life.

Personality ;; Chikova, before the war, was a spry, young wolf who was up for any kind of adventure. He was a creative pup, taking up the metalworking hobby. He was passionate about his creation of Sahone, and all of the metalwork he accomplished. He loved visiting natural landmarks with his parents, spending the weekends camping by lakes. He used to love visiting the campus to speak about his accomplishments with inventing, and teaching his own little techniques to the classes. He adored the excitement of the classes when he brought in Sahone to entertain them. His best friend was always Sahone after Chikova perfected him.
After the apocalyptic war, he became lonely. Sahone kept his company, which he appreciated very much, but he sought the life of his people. He scavenged for food, although he didn’t favor it. Sometimes when he came across desperate creatures, he would have mercy and leave the food he found for them to eat. He could never resist creatures down on their luck.
