Prompt response; "You know. Yes, I would. You may not be anyone too important to other people or you may be the most important Kjaku I've heard of. I don't care. It doesn't matter whose mouth a story comes from, it just matters that it is worth being retold. And if you are so willing to tell me that story, then I will listen. I have never heard a story without meaning behind it and have always found a use for a story that I hear. Also, I'm very grateful that you would shelter me in your home. I'll stop talking so you can begin," I said.

I sat down and looked up at the elderly Kjaku.

Prompt response; francis was slow to answer, taking the moment to graze their gaze over this older kjaku's home. regardless of if they would believe these fables, they were interested in them nonetheless. "often the stories that challenge one's beliefs are the most compelling to hear." they said no more, moving their attention from the fireplace and back to them. the creature clearly had racked up many strange artifacts over the years, and each was sure to come with its own tale, truthful or not. the stranger had a strange air of calm to them. francis would never enter a foreign home otherwise, but their intuition had often been wrong.

Helios looked to the elderly looking Kjaku, suspicion in their pairs of eyes. They doubted that such a creature would have anything truly interesting to tell. Legends, Fables, that sort of silly thing didn’t affect them, they saw their own life as much more interesting than any legend’s supposed stories. But then again, such long-winded conversations from one who is of old age could certainly benefit them in the future, the farther future, or the near future. Knowing such tales from an elder Kjaku could help them show others that they were to be trusted due to having been able to hear stories from one of an age that seems so fragile and breakable, an age that seems to have a limited lifespan, and an age that makes it clear those around them had not planned against them. That they shouldn’t run from their being as soon as their flame of rage sparks in their eyes and horn, and such foolish trust in them would make a lot of formerly annoying encounters go about much quicker. They huffed, still acting as if they didn’t wish to hear the tale, but sat down calmly in front of the other, trying their best to keep away by a suitable distance. Close enough to hear, but not too close. Surely they certainly didn’t care about this other Kjaku who seems at home in the tundras, but they also did not wish to make the snowy and elderly Kjaku uncomfortable with their flaming presence, they did wish to be nice to this one after all. Helios stretched their front legs slightly before placing them out in front of themself, intertwining their own claws to make it appear as if they were truly focused ahead towards the elder. “You know, one of many years, I believe I’ll stick around to hear your stories. From one like you, it seems like it’s worth my time.”

"Should I?" Oj pondered, unsure of wether to run for the safety of the trees or to wait and see who answered. Either way he was sure he'd find out who lived here-you know, if who ever lived here stayed outside long enough for him to take a peak at him. A shiver ran down his spine, urging him to stay where he was if he were indeed offered hospitality. He shook his head, he'd learned a lot of stuff about himself in the past couple of days, things he didn't know he could or would have done. This flower collecting business had really done a number on who he thought he was and been a lot more intense then he thought it was gonna be. He shrugged his shoulders and shook himself, bringing his hand up he reaped his fist against the door. He turned, making a dash for the safety of the trees but before he could the door opened.
"Oh, what are you doing here! It's so cold out there, kids these days and their foolish venturing. Come in!" A great fluffy floof bomb said warmly, waving him inside. Orange's eyes popped out skull at the sight of all the ancient looking artifacts. Could this really be the floof kjaku of legend? He wondered, taking a seat in front of the fire. He shook slightly, now weirdly aware of how cold it'd been outside. He couldn't help but ponder how this kjaku kept such a warm house with all that fur. He looked warm enough, happy, and-well old enough… Maybe he was.
"Don't take this the wrong way but…" He paused not sure how to ask the old guy if he was the one spoken of in legends. He glanced between the old floof and the fire before tilting his head and continuing. He seemed like a nice guy, he probably wouldn't get all to offended. "Are you the kjaku who went to hell and back?"
"Are you really willing to hear an elder's old, fabled tales…?" the other responded. Oj couldn't help but feel like the older kjaku was about to tell him nonsense but… the old stuff looked pretty credible so… He nodded eagerly.

I glance around the room and see what looks like an antique blanket and pouf near a fireplace. Seems a good a place as any to listen to a crazy story.

"My name is Alajax," I say. "Thank you for your hospitality."

"You're welcome, youngster," he responded. "I am Veks. Now, where do I even begin?"

He launches into a ridiculous, over the top story. I make him some tea as he continues. I begin to get a little anxious- the longer I spend in here, the less time I have to be out hunting flowers.

As the light creeping in from the windows gets longer and dimmer, my anxiety remains- but it starts to compete with fascination at the elder's tale. He speaks of caves and mountain peaks; of unbelievable monsters and pain and fear, but also of treasures- both material and spiritual.

The sun is setting. I make one final pot of tea as he wraps up his tale.

"Thank you, Veks. Your store is amazing! I must be going however- it is Gloom Day, and I must be off to find more flowers."

"Gloom Day already!" He looks bewildered. "Why didn't you mention that sooner?"

From a cabinet behind him, he pulls out a basket of dried flowers.

"What do you think that tea we've been drinking was made from, huh? Sometimes age can add just a little extra spice, wouldn't you say?"
