Another museum was hit, this was the second week running where museums were broken into. The thief, whoever they were, seemed to be after something specific. This second break in confirmed it. They were after garnets. Pacing around the room, I look up at the tacks of info on the wall. Working with the police was hard as a private eye, they distrusted me. Despite all of that, we got a lot done between the break in last week and last night's. I was waiting on the call from the chief letting me know it was okay for me to head to the crime scene. I didn't have to wait long.

The doors and windows were untouched, the only broken things were the display cases. A pair of garnet gems were on display, having been recovered from a site somewhere in Europe. That was the strange thing about this whole shpeal; all of the gems that were stolen had historical and cultural significance. Shaking my head, I examine the shards of glass. Well, it would be more appropriate to call it glass dust. Everyone working the scene had face masks and safety glasses on. Whoever was breaking into these museums completely obliterated the display cases. None of the pieces were larger that a centimeter.

Officer Hankins crouched on his haunches next to me, my watchdog since the police still didn't trust me. He carefully fingered through the glass, and shook his head. We were all stumped at how the thief managed to do this to the display cases in under 15 minutes. Less if you counted how long it would take just to get into the museum. As he fingered throguh the glass something caught my eye. Confusion showed plain on his face as I pointed to the shard buried under the fine dust. We carefully brush the dust off of it; a corner piece. It seemed scorched. Officer Hankins called over someone in charge of processing evidence. We had something now. Hopefully it would be enough.

Back in my office I was going over my board again, tacking on new pieces of evidence and information as I got them from the police department. I was only working this case because all of the museums in the area had hired me in a joint effort. Now that there was a pattern, or the start of one, I could start warning them. There was one other unusual aspect about this gem thief's pattern. All of the garnets were of the red variety. Both of the museums hit had far more valuable garnets on display as part of historical artifacts, or being found with them. The only difference was that they were not the red variety of garnet. I was no gem appraiser, so I couldn't say why they were going after those particular garnets.

I went down the list of museums in the area that had garnets on display, and went to make some calls.

    By dinner, I had a complete list of all museums in the area that had red garnets on display. I went down the list again, crossing off the ones that had already been hit;
      - Miller Rock Museum
      - Museum of Roman Culture
      - Leonard's Collection of Gems
      - Collection of Historical Artifacts
      - The World History Museum

The last museum on this list had a pretty impressive array of garnets; including a 12th century golden collar set with garnets. I pulled out my phone to call the police chief, wiping the food from my hands. Little did I know, that the closer I got to the thief, the more that she watched me. I saw something glinting through my window, but I dismissed it at the time. That was the first in several sightings, ultimately leading into me catching the thief, and then letting her go. But I'm getting ahead of myself here.

Back to the last museum on my list, I wrote out a few things they could do to keep their collection safe, or ways they could help us catch the thief. In the end, they went with a bit of both. I counted up the total items in their inventory that I suspected were of interest to the thief. Including the collar, there were five items. They already had 3 items from their first two hits. I sighed and decided to get some sleep. I could wait until tomorrow to go through the other two museums inventories. The thief wouldn't hit another museum the night after their last one, they were too cautious for that. Right?

Off in the night, a glinting body made her way into the shadows. With a particularly heavy sack strapped to her side, she looked back at the office as the lights flicked off. She smiled before melting into the shadows.

A loud and irritating noise woke me up, it took a moment for me to realize it was my phone. I scrambled to pick it up, nearly tripping over my own feet. The police shief chewed me out before finally getting to what had happened. Leonard's had been hit. The thief now had five gems. I grumbled apologies to the chief, and got dressed to head to the crime scene. Officer Hankins was already waiting for me with drive through coffee. I thanked him for it, I was going to need it. This scene felt more rushed, and the other officers picked up on it. They thought this meant that there would be a mistake like the last scene. There was not.

I was there when the chief got the report from the lab; an early one, as they were still running a few more tests. Heat. The thief was using high heat to shatter the glass. I could think of easier ways to break the glass, but when I looked at the systems surrounding these gems I understood why the thief had picked these particular places. The gems didn't have to be kept inside a temperature controlled environment. The other items in their display, if there were any, were usually carved stone or something else that didn't need a specific environment just to be stable. This thief knew how museums worked, more than I did.

I aimed to fix that. I spent the rest of the day talking ot the different museums. I wanted to learn why this thief wanted these gems, how they picked their targets, and why they used extreme heat. More results came back. The glass was too finely ground for any rigorous tests, but somehow the lab determined that on four sides of the display there was simultaneous heat. Our thief just became thieves. We almost expected another museum to be hit that night, but there was nothing. And nothing for the next week and a half. My employers didn't think it was over, especially since their gems hadn't been pawned off in town. Why else would someone steal gems of that value?

When I left my office, my foot crunched on something. I looked down at the folded paper on my stoop. I opened it, and my eyes went wide. I fished my phone out of my pocket to call the police chief. In less than ten minutes I was back in the station. They were analyzing the letter, which could only be from one of the thieves. There were details, very specific ones, about how they managed to break into each museum without being detected. Only the officers tasked with this and I knew those details. There weren't any officers hiding snickers, either, so that ruled out a prank. The chief thanked me, and bade me goodnight. Once he turned around, the room suddenly seemed very loud.

Officers gossiped in groups, over coffee, against desks, and for once I didn't care. Officer Hankins gave apologetic eyes from where he was cornered with another group of officers. I gave a small smile, and made my way towards the door. My bed was calling, and it was impatient. I looked through my photos again; I had taken some of the letter before the cruiser picked me up. The script was elegant and looping. It was also handwritten. When I played the letter against the light, the ink shone in a way no printer could achieve. Finally, sleep claimed me. I rested easy knowing our precautions were in place.

I woke up at the set hour, a few hours before dawn. I made coffee, and put it in two thermoses. I had a shift with Officer Hankins watching the front of Historical Artifacts museum. I hoped it was enough. I waited outside for him to pick me up in his car. He would park it a few blocks away from the unmarked cruiser keeping watch. He looked exhausted when he pulled up. I asked him if he got any sleep, he just shook his head. We rode in silence. When we were in place, I handed him a thermos. We almost missed it. Something glinted in the moonlight, and then dashed into the alley, followed by three more shadows. Hankins called quietly into his radio, and we left the car once we were given the go ahead.

Then we heard it. The alarm going off. We ran towards the doors. All officers on duty were given keys to the front doors for just this reason. Crashing echoed within. We heard the sound of boots from the other officers. We fanned out, for once I was included because the more eyes there were the better. I saw the broken display case, but I ignored it. Then we heard a skittering sound and something dash form the shadows. One of the officers tackled the shape. It was a kalon. Well, at least this thief was. They kicked off a bag and threw it at the officers, but it was no use. We had them surrounded. Then they looked smug. It dawned on me, and apparently Officer Hankins, that they were just a diversion.

We both ran deeper into the museum, and saw an emergency exit door closing. We ran out it, looking around. We heard the thumping of boots and clawed feet. We ran after the sound, but it was too late. Officer Hankins grumbled under his breath, and headed back towards the mouth of the alley. A waited a moment longer, and then I saw her. She looked at me, and grinned. I was speechless. Her hair glinted, and it took me a moment to realize why. It was decorated with the stolen gems! She gave a silent laugh, and took off across the roof. It was too late to catch her. I jogged to catch up with Hankins. At first my breathless mutterings confused him. When he understood what it was I was saying he called other officers over, and informed the chief.

I was given leave to go back to bed, and I extracted a promise form Officer Hankins that he would actually get some sleep. When I was dropped off in front of my building, I slowly made my way up to my apartment. Something about the kalon I saw bugged me, the one on the roof. I didn't know it at the time, but she was a familiar face. A very familiar one. I said hi to my neighbor, who looked like she was leaving for work. She glinted red. I thought nothing of it, and went to bed. After all, why would I suspect an archaeologist of the theft of precious artifacts? But this isn't the time I came face to face with her, and let her go. The next time we met, I would know her for who she was.

In their haste to get the gems, the thieve had resorted to just smashing the display case. There was a blowtorch on the one we had captured. He was refusing to talk. That was fine, we had more than we had yesterday. The blowtorch he had was a high quality welding torch. The police had already requested information on purchases for the past few months, and looked through to see if any were stolen from local workshops. I looked at my board, and still didn't understand why they were stealing the gems. I flicked back through the official booklet provided by the Roman history museum. Then a phrase caught my eye

"Origins unknown, recovered in a raid of a black market dealer"

I went back through the other information on both the stolen gems, and the ones not yet stolen. They all had unknown origins. I phoned the police department to let them know what I learned. At first they scoffed, then they grew quiet. I was also sure of one more thing; the final museum was going to be hit tonight. They didn't hear me on that one. I went to the museum that night by myself. First, though, I would need supplies. Coffee, and high energy foods. As I left my apartment a familiar face greeted me; officer Hankins and a few other officers were waiting outside on the stoop. They believed me when I said that the final museum was going to be hit tonight.

We split up into two vehicles; one set in front of the museum and the other in back. I watched the roofs carefully. Then I saw them. Three shadows moving across the roofs with an ease that came from familiarity. They made their way to the roof of the World History Museum. Then they vanished. We ran out of the car, but we heard no alarms. A heavy shape launched itself at us. Then just as quickly it was gone. Officer Hankins was covered in soot. Looking at my clothes, so was I. Hankins used the key, and we carefully entered the museum. We made our way back to the collar and its fan of fellow gems. But it was empty. The glass wasn't smashed. But they were still gone. We ran back outside, and saw the shapes split up into three shadows. I followed the one that glinted, and the others went after the other two.

Hankins went after the other one, but I knew that the one I was following was the one I saw before. She went for several blocks, until she came to the river. There she leapt onto the ground and went into an alley. The chase was on. As a kalon, she was naturally much faster than I was, but I could run for longer. I just hoped she didn't get to where she was going before then. Then she turned sharply into an alley, shine glinting as it caught the moonlight. That's when it hit me. I knew her.

My neighbor, the one who alerted me to the break ins in the first place, the one who had recommended me to the very people she worked for and stole from. She was waiting for me, eye glinting with intelligence and humor.

"So you figured it out? Why I stole these gems?" she asked, grinning the whole time.

I thought about what to say, and then just spit it out, "the museums purchased them from the black market. They didn't want to deal with verifying where they came from, and just wanted something flashy to show the public."

"Bingo. As someone who loves history, it angered me. If they are going to pay thieves to get their items, then a thief should take them away, don't you think? I can't undo what they did, but the least I can do is find out where these really came from," she said, shaking her head at the last bit. But it didn't quite fit.

"Why are you wearing them, then?" I asked, suspicious.

She laughed, "These are meant to be used, to be seen. Not kept in some box besides the one their rightful owners deem appropriate. If I cannot find out who really owns them then I'll hold onto them. I'm not so stupid as to sell them. Now then, what are you going to do?"

She had a point, covered in soot and charcoal as she was, the gems did glisten magnificently in the moonlight. I made my decision. I turned heel and walked out of the alley. I heard her quiet gasp behind me, then the soft thunks as she climbed out of the alley. Hankins apparently lost the one he was following, and he had followed me. When he asked if I found the one I was following, I shook my head. I had a good idea who the others were. I was about to give them up, now that I knew why. Officer Hankins gave me a suspicious look, the first one he gave me since he had accepted me over two weeks ago. The next day the blocks were combed through one by one. They found nothing. I smiled softly to myself.

I spend my nights now researching, and going through what few records exist. Even for something as magnificent as the collar, it had just appeared in history, and vanished just as completely. Many times. All while the thief walked free, well, thieves. I smile as I look at one of them next to me, poring over the old paper records along with me.

"This is the seventh break in this month! and the worst one at that!" Detective Lominiea cried as she leaned back and placed her paws over her eyes, slowly dragging them down her face and falling to her side. "The Garnet gemstone was taken from the jeweller an hour after closing, it was one of the most highly valued gemstones in the world and is said to bring good luck to whichever jeweller owns it..." She read out loud and sighed deeply. "It might be the same thief, stealing all the garnets this past month. And it is January" She added with a nod and got up, walking over to her partner's office. "Ashanti! Let's go, we've got another break in! Another Garnet but this time it is a much larger scale." Ashanti perked up and nodded, stepping out of her office and walking down the halls with Lominiea.

Yesterday night

"Ashanti, Ashanti, calm yourself. I've done this six times this month." Amami said with a roll of his eyes. "Amami, I know, but this is the Garnet of Luck you want to steal! The most highly valued gem in this country!" she cried, throwing one of her paws into the air. Amami rolled his eyes again. "Your point?" he smirked, turning to look at the jewellery store in front of them. "I don't get why we're standing out here just staring at it and talking in the open!" Ashanti almost shouted. "And maybe if you calmed down no one would hear us!" he snapped, glaring at Ashanti. "Right, sorry..." She muttered. "Now let's go steal that Garnet!" Amami beamed and stepped forward.

Today

"Earth to Ashanti!?" Lominiea waved a paw in Ashanti's face, she shook her head. "Sorry, Lumi I'm a little tired. Didn't get much sleep last night" She said with a smile, looking to Lominiea. "That's fine, just keep your head in the game. We need to discover who is stealing these Garnets"

Long story short, they never did. Ashanti kept covering Amami's trail and he disappeared without a trace, no Garnets or any other gems went missing after that and he had disappeared like a literal thief in the night. Nobody ever found out about Amami stealing the gems or Ashanti helping him do so, to this day the case is still not solved and no new leads have surfaced.

Adonin, that was our theif, no other kalon would flitch gold from such a hight ranking kalon of Marshon. His elaborate necklace was a family heirloom, and he hired me to catch the theif. As I came to that revelation late at night, I decided to check all the other files that had piled up while I was investigating. Hmm, more stolen jewelry, this time six pieces of gold, carefully crafted into small accessories, right after the necklace had gone missing... *sigh* and of course he would get himself spotted. Adonin, again. When would that Kalon learn how to keep his paws to himself?? Unfortunately that was only circumstancal evidence and I still had to prove that it was him that stole the gold. Shaking my head I packed up and headed for home, or, at least I pretended to. As I headed out the door I made sure my old gold watch flashed in the moonlight, for I had seen the shadow of a particular set of horns, waiting in the night. All senses on alert I tried to nonchalantly walk down the path. Then I felt a tug in my pocket as I walked by a particularly large bush, and I smiled. Quick as a whip I whirled around and tugged on the string I had tried to my watch and my wrist, dragging Adonin out into the moonlight. Takling him down I smiled again as I counted six gold prices and a fancy necklace on him. As I called the night watchmen over to finish the arrest, I couldn't help but let out a chuckle. Another case solved!

Shinya sat down as she admired her necklace the one her mama gave her to protect her from the ones whom would want to steal her heart. Unlike normal kals Shinuba was born with a gift, that gift was to grant others the power of love. If her necklace got into the wrong claws then everyone kal who would love could fall apart. However there are other powers in the necklace that are to be untold....

2 years after the passing of her mother.

"Come on Onania keep up" Shinuba giggled to her friend which was a garnet she had enchanted with her necklace. It was in a shape of a dog, which she called Onania they have been together for 2 years now.

I'm sorry it's short....

prompt responce;; i search the room, papers scattered as i fiercely searched the room for evidence. i growled as i stomped my foot in frustration. this crook just covered her trail as well as snow covers tracks. i wished that a clue would of been here, but, of course, with my horrible luck nothing i want would happen!

a small shine caught my eye; i thought, shiny gem equals clues! clues,
    good juicy clues!
i about leaped for joy as i crossed the room for the journal. my fingers glided over the pages as i skimmed the journal. going throughout it until i spotted a page:
december 21, 2016 wrote:it's me, lani, back again with more of these marvelous new jewels. i recently got it through those "friends" who i am in contact with. they told me the location of these prized jewels and gave me that nifty skeleton key. before i get into the story let me just say that i'm just say that these jewels were meant for me and no one else. here's my story of finding these perfect jewels:

i called up black lynx to see where those valuable jewels were. they said that they were at the local museum, the easy one to crack the security of. no one would see it coming! i asked for one more tip but black lynx said that i'll need to pay for that one. i declined to pay for that tip.

the wait until night was long and boring then night came! oh boy, i was ready for the fun of this steal! the car drove up and bait taker rolled down the window. i said the code then hopped in as they nodded their head. the museum rolled into as i was fully dressed in black. bait taker threw me out and rode off into the night.

i entered the museum and played that classic music from those action movies in my headphones. i spotted a camera then posed about a hundred a few times with different poses; i thought, that would get the news buzzing. the night guard was an easy fellow that slept on the job, but i knew that hacking the cameras would be just fine to cover my tracks and be safe. the security alarm went off in a push of a button. i thought, what is this? a video game made for kids? i slowly approached the room at a crouch then ninja rolled into the room, closing in on the jewels.

the jewels glittered in the faint light as i carefully approached them. the colors were just too much for, so being like any normal person i let out a equal of delight. that easily alerted the sleepy guard who called the police then came to investigate. hearing the footsteps, i was logical enough to smash the glass around the prized jewels. the alarm, of course, went off. i freaked out then quickly put the jewels in my pouch.

the guard started running towards me but tripped being as clumsy as a clown in those large shoes. i slipped off like a ninja then caught up with bait who waited on the curve for me.

the local news was buzzing around my thief. multiple used my awesome footage from the "modelling" in front of the camera. they said that everyone to keep an eye out for any possible suspects with huge horns. i laughed at that "useful" piece of evidence.

well, how did you like it? good, i suppose. all for now, goodbye! - lani

pretty useful, but not enough for tracking them down. i flipped through a few self-centered journal entries then stopped at one entry that would hopefully help me.
december 26, 2016 wrote:i thought my three bun jewels could use some friends so i got some more jewels to be their friends. i knew that the jewels were meant to be together as best friends. so you know what i did next? of course, you do took them from the museum again! here's the story:

the museum was closed that day so black lynx got me in through the back. everything was quiet as i creaked through to the replacement jewels. like there was no guard and the security cameras were off, what is this place? a walk-in theft place?!? i honestly don't care what they called it as long as i got my jewels.

the jewels were under flimsy glass that they called "protective" glass.
(they honestly are so dumb!!!! it's like they are asking to be stolen from!) i calmly break the glass, setting off the alarm. one magical surprised awaited me, they had lowering gates that went down really slowly. i
literally walked out of there with the jewels, easiest theft to happen for me to date.

do you want to know what the news was reporting on the next day?
the missing jewels - stolen by your lovely lani herself! they blame the museum for faking it due to worker's finger prints being found on the shards of glass. the museum, of course, denied the claims and tried to blaming it on me with little support. they also blames the security guard, who was suppose to be on duty, to have not shown up to it and preventing it from happened. of course, that guard was fired. also just expect that museum to be closing soon due to a ruined image.

    all for now - lani

well, that explains everything with the cases in the museum. i thought. what about that stolen collar? speak of the devil, there is the page! i started to scim over how she got the collar.
june 17, 2017 wrote:oh, this collar is just divine! it is soon smooth and perfectly perfect! it is to die for, in my humble opinion. you must be dying to hear the story. well then wait no more, here's the story:

it was hot when bait taker told me to steal the collar. they directed me towards the pawn shop with false cash to "buy" it. they wanted to have it then realized i'll just make off with it so they said to keep it after i got it, but pay them a bit for it.

i walked in and heard the ding as soon as i entered. an employee looked at me then smiled and welcomed me. they asked if they could help me and i said yes to their question. i pointed to the collar on display and asked to see it. they gladly gave me it. i felt it and asked to put it on. they said that it would ruin the collar.

i then lifted the price tag and asked to buy it. they were shocked, but asked for the amount. i gave them them "money" and they check it to make sure it was real due to me using cash. they looked at me as the first one proved to be fake and started questioning me. i just ran out of there with the employee chasing me. bait taker tripped them and took one for the team then got arrested. i, on the other hand, was chased out of town for a few days, but i came back to no one looking for me. the witness gave a lot of conflicting face ideas and how i looked so the case was dismissed. (lucky me!)

i don't wear it much in public or else i'll be arrested like bait taker. bait is fine but is hating jail. good thing that i'm not in it or else you'll not be able to get any juicy stories from me. that's all for now, folks. - lani

that really didn't serve much but did explain a few things. i then flipped the next few page to find the last entry.
march 24, 2018 wrote:the cops are onto me. yelp, they spoil the fun like always, so i got to make like a cat and vanish for a bit. i know that they'll be reading this, so here's a message for them:

not cool to read someone's diary. this serves no purpose in the investigation besides evidence of me committing the crimes. good luck finding me, lovelies. bye-bye! - lani

i read it a bit then glanced at the message left for me. wow, she is just one to know everything.

no good, no clues at all on her current location. back to square one in this investigation as the thief cover her trails even more.

"i will always remember you, even though it may not seem like it. i know you will always remain in my heart no matter what. i love you ori."

"mother"...
"it's me, or- ori." weeps of saddness were heard through out the hospital. from a young boy. he sat at the edge of his mothers bed and cried. her eyes were closed and her heartbeat was rapid. "please, don't forget me. please. please!!" ori is what his mother 'adrangea' had called him. ordell is his chosen name. it is quite a name isn't it. that is what his mother had always thought. his mother was a beauty. always wore feminine and elegant clothing. her hair was put up with 12 gorgeous gems and she always had a large gem around her neck. she loved ori. just like any other mother would. through out ori's childhood, his mother fought dementia. not that of severity, but with age, it worsened. she would make accidental mistake, would forget conversations with ori, and had no control over her thoughts and actions. ori took care of her alone. she had many outbursts of rage and sadness. she knew she was forgetful, yet she tried her best to raise ori to his full potential, and she did. yet, she never knew that her life as a mother would end so abruptly. ori had found his mother collapsed on the floor. heart still beating, but unresponsive. he had to rush her to the hospital. once the doctors got her into bed and took her vitals, everything was normal. yet, knowing her history of dementia, they knew that once she woken up, she would forget all her life's efforts. the doctor's informed ori, yet he was disheartened. his thoughts were rapid. "where will she go?", "will i ever see her again?", "she won't remember me will she?" ori's heart was broken. he was left weeping. holding his only mothers hand. ori had fallen asleep on his mothers stomach. he was awoken with screaming and crying. "where am i?!", "who is this man!?", "get him off of me!" ori rushed back. panicked, he yelled "mother it's me ori! ordell!" the doctors grabbed him, and took him out of the room. they explained the situation. with her severity, he was told to leave. they said it was best for him if he never seen her again. ori ran out of the hospital devastated. "how could they?!, my only mother gone. they took her from me!"

three weeks later...
ori had continued with his life. he worked day and night to keep his mind off of his mother. after work, he left and headed on home. he passed the hospital daily. as he was walking past the hospital, a beautiful familiar face popped out of the entrance. it was his mother, with her beautiful pieces of jewelry on as always and seemed that she was heading somewhere. curious, ori decided to follow. he followed for a few blocks and noticed that she was at the front door of her house. she seemed to remember all of her belongings and partially her life. she must not remember the relationships with friends and family. ori was glued in place as he watched his mother enter the house and go to bed, telling from the lights. he knew he had to do something but what? slowly, ori made his way to the entrance, turning the door knob to the house and opened the door. she forgot to lock the door. as he entered the house, he gradually made his way up the stairs and into his mother's room. she was fast asleep. a remembered when he was a child when she would read him a story every night to bed. he noticed of the corner of his eye, his mothers jewelry. her necklace in a large glass box, and her hair pins in a large wooden box. he was not thinking as he grabbed both of the boxes and ran down the stair and out the door. he ran down the street all the way to his apartment. as he entered his apartment, he opened both boxes and grabbed the jewelry one by one. he stared at them with sadness, with tears in his eyes. he missed her. he cried himself to sleep. as he awoke, he dressed up and place all gems in his hair and the necklace around his neck. "i must make you remember me. mother..."

"detective please."
a women ran into the station angry. she was regal and elegant. "can i help you ma'am?" i said with a serious tone. "yes! someone has stolen my jewelry. they broke into my house!" "okay ma'am. can you describe your jewelry please?" "there is 12 gems in the form of hair pins and a large gem in the form of a necklace. they are large garnet gems." "i will go out and search okay?" "okay." the lady had left in a hurry, such an odd woman. i had no other cases to do, so i decided to go into town and possibly search around for the gems. quickly i notice a man with similar gems in his hair and around his neck walking up to the station. "hello, my name is ordell and i did something wrong. i stole from my mother." he had tears in his eyes. the woman didn't speak of a son though. "could you explain to me what you stole and why sir?" weeping, he told me his story and i could not hold my tears back. "the woman i stole from was my mother. her name is adrangea. the gems are what i stole." he handed me the gems. "through out my childhood i had to take care of her. she has dementia. it had gradually got worse. i was recently in the hospital with her and she had forgotten me and i was told not to come in contact with her ever. i didn't understand. why can i not see my own mother? i wanted her to remember me. i miss her deeply. so, i decided to take these gems in turn to do something to get her attention." as he cried, i grabbed him and hugged him. i took him into the station and sat him down. i grabbed the phone book and looked for a woman named adrangea and dialed her number. i explained to her that i had a man come in that found her gems. she entered the station happily and sat down next to her boy. i explained that it was this man named ordell that found them. she was happy and hugged ordell. i could see his face flush with happiness. "thank you. oh you are the man from the hospital right?" she questioned. "yes, i'm sorry about the rude awakening, my name is ordell." "oh no, it is okay. i was the one at fault. it is nice to meet you ordell. what a beautiful name. whom ever gave you that name was smart. it is so beautiful." "thank you, my mother was the one who named me." "well, she must of been the worlds most beautiful women and smart too." she chuckled. "trust me, she was." he smiled. "let me treat you for your good deed ordell, let me take your to the nearest coffee shop." "yes, i would love too!" i watched as they both exited the station. ordell looked back at me and silently mouthed a small "thank you." i smiled back, holding my tears in. no bond is stronger than a mother and son's bond.
