My favorite type of flower is a daffodil! Specifically the "wild" ones, the all yellow ones that grow in our pastures and around old houses and up at my grandmother's!
Where I'm from, we call them Jonquils. They bloom in a short window depending on the weather, somewhere from the end of January to the middle of March. Ever since I was little I would go on walks with my grandmother and we would watch the birds and pick flowers. There were many days where we would go out into the cow fields and bring back bouquets of Jonquills, and I always kept one behind my ear. They always bloom at valentines day so, when they were together, my dad would always pick some for my mom on valentines day. My boyfriend now does the same to me! Less expensive and better smelling than roses, in my opinion. I love pressing them and keeping them in a large book to remember all of my good times.
