Reason you want this specific San Canine?: I have instantly fallen in love with the species and I am hoping for the chance to adopt either a dancer or a shaman.
Name(s): KonsTchi!xo
Nickname(s)?: Tchi! Tchi!
Is there a reason why you gave it that name(s)/ nickname(s)?: Since the species is based off of the bushmen, I figured I would give mine a similar name. In it's native tounge, Tchi!xo menas "unlucky".
Personality: Tchi! is a bubbly Khoisan canine. She is constantly in an upbeat mood that has the tendacy to either annoy or cheer up other clan mates. Tchi! has a good heart and she loves the younger pups of the clan - she can often be found watching over them and teaching them new dances that she makes up for the fun of it.
Will he/she be used in any stories/ roleplays/ displayed on any character thread both on and off CS?: Most likely, this character will be used for art with short story segments for each piece, which can be combined to get a good idea about her general/ everyday life. Unfortuantely, due to my own commissions, I may not be able to draw her constantly, but I will certainly draw her when the inspiration (for her) hits me. Also, I have never tries RPs but I may be willing to give it a shot sometime.
Write an introduction story for your San Canine (It must be located in the Kalahari Desert):
"Ok! Again!" The sand colored canine called out cheerfully to the rows of pups in front of her. They started in unison - "And right, and left, and right, and left! And stomp, stomp, now twirl! Kick!" The small bodies moved so fast, they tripped over each other and ended up in a laughing heap, with the large sand colored San on the bottom. Tchi!, giggling, squirmed out from under the mass of excited pups. Around them, the older clan mates bustled about, doing the things that kept a small village in the middle of the Kalahari Desert up and running. Tchi! has volunteered to watch the pups again. She loved the young ones. Just as she was about to start the unofficial dance class once again, a voice called out to her. "Tchi! You're going to dance them until they drop!" The large laughing canine made his way up to her. "Ok kids," he said. "Tchi! has to go now. She has plenty of work to do today." There was a chorus of awwww mans and bye, Tchi! as the excited canine bid her farewell and departed with the Second in Line to Chief. Tchi! was still a young San, but adulthood was approaching quickly. Tchi! had quite a bit to be excited about as well. She was about to become one of the official Shaman's Dancers. Her task was to use the elegant movement of her body to summon forth the kind spirits of the San eldests for the Shaman to commune with. It was a very prestigious role in the clan, and one that had almost been taken away from her, when she was just a young pup. Tchi!'s name itself meant "unlucky". As a pup, she had wondered off from the trib on her own. She had found herself face to face with a pair of hyenas. After attackeing and brutalizing her, they left her for dead, to be found by a tribe member later. Barely clinging to life, she had been nursed back to health by the Shaman and had formed a close relationship with the Elder. Whispers through the camp were that she would never be able to walk properly again - she had spent months with a limp that led her to tumble into things, whcih meant that she would never succeed as a hunter for the clan. She became known tenderly as "the clumsy one". Thankfully, Tchi!'s upbeat attitude towards life and the hard balls it tends to throw at you and her determination to fully heal had done wonders for her leg. It soon became clear that the dancing she did with the shaman was good therapy for her now completely healed leg. Back to the present, her and the future chief arrived at the Shaman's hut. Today was her personal naming ceremony, where she would recieve her honered Adult Name. The shaman smiled as Tchi drew nearer. "Are you ready, child?" It was just her and the shaman now. Slowly, the began their dance. Eyes connected, the two canines spun round and round each other, faster and faster. Tchi! felt herself slipping away, as always. She let go and conitinued her dance. She was brought back to the here and now by a cry "KonsTchi!xo! I call you to me!" She stopped and focused her eyes on the shaman. Neither spoke for a second as Tchi! let it all sink in. Finally, when she was sure the eldests willed her to speak up, Tchi!, panting, said "That's it? Are we done?" Shaman smiled at her. "We are." The blank look left Tchi's face as she jumped up in the air and barked happily. She had done it. She had beat her misfortune, and her ailment, and was now an important member of the tribe. She wondered over her new name - KonTchi!xo, liking the way it sounded on her tongue. "Luck for the Unlucky". She found meaning in her new name. She vowed to herself that she would always be there to help those who needed it. She would always remain strong for those who were too weak.
Do you plan to breed with him/ her in the future?: Not yet
Will you look after you San Canine and order art of him/ her?: I am more likely to draw the art myself than to order it from someone else, but... yes? :3
His/ her strong points/ special abilities? (optional): Tchi! is very understanding - she offers a strong shoulder to cry on when you need it.
Weaknesses? (optional): Tchi! is very wary of hyenas. although she does not remember the attack that left her crippled as a pup, she knows what caused it. She has never since been face to face with a hyena, but upon such a meeting, she would prabably freeze up in terror and cower down.
Any thing else you’d like to say?: Sorry for the long story... I went a little overboard. And I know in some areas, with like the naming ceremony for instance, I have added a little bit of tribal background, I hope that is ok but I will change anything if neccesary.
