"Hi!" He smiled replying to Sandpaw, seeing her nervousness. He couldn't blame her, they had barley spoken! As the patrol was moving along, Swallowpaw spotted a small pond between two oaks. He eagerly bounced towards it spying silver glimmering fish. He beckoned Sandpaw to come with his tail. Swallowpaw crouched at the edge of the pool waiting for one of the fish to reach the surface. He peaked over at the glimmering fish and scooped high into the air. Oops He looked up seeing the fish plummeting down right onto him, soaking his pelt. It hit the ground flailing as he finished it off with a quick bite. He looked at Sandpaw and blurted out laughing.

☞HAWKFROST was caught off guard as Swallowpaw completely ignored his question, choosing instead to try his paw at fishing. With the hardest eye roll in the history of Starclan, the flame colored warrior looked on, both unamused and unimpressed. Once the young tom had caught the fish and thoroughly soaked himself in the process, the seasoned warrior stalked towards him, green eyes ablaze with anger. "Swallowpaw!" he called out sharply, towering over the young apprentice. "Our task was border patrol, not trying to impress pretty she-cats by catching fish." he snarled, the hair along his shoulders raised, wanting to properly embarrass the mousebrain. "What exactly did you think you were going to do with the fish after you caught it, hmmm?" he hissed at Swallowpaw, amazed by the young tom's thick head. "Well now you get to carry that heavy thing throughout the entire border patrol. If I see you so much as put it down for a split second to rest, I will have your pelt." Hawkfrost deemed that a good note to end on as he whipped around and stalked back towards the border.

☞CROWPAW watched with murky green eyes as the patrols set off on their tests, half of them resting while the other half headed out to survey the borders. The bright young tom couldn't help but let his coat puff up as a slight twinge of jealousy blossomed in his heart. The apprentice had been stuck in camp all day awaiting an appearance from Cursedecho, his patience growing thin and his paws itching for some form of practice. With an unsatisfied huff, the dark tabby took one more lap around the camp in search of his mentor who had mysteriously disappeared. Crowpaw poked his large head into every nook and cranny he could find, frustration building as he returned again and again empty pawed.

"Okay." Speckledpaw whispered. He slowly walked, as quietly as he could, alongside Featherheart. His walking slowly got faster due to fear.

Swallowpaw bit back a sharp retort as Hawkfrost asked what he was going to do with the fish when they got back to camp. Eat it of course, what else? He replied with an angered grunt as the warrior turned away from him. Jeez! Who's got his tail! he thought as he picked up the fish nodding to Sandpaw if a gesture of 'I'm sorry'. "Warriors have no sense of humour" he muttered, only loud enough for Sandpaw to hear. Especially Hawkfrost. He added to himself. He despised the way warriors got to treat apprentices. All he knew that when he was a warrior, he would treat them with respect, like any other cat. Hawkfrost was just born hot-headed! He thought stubbornly.

The news of Tanglewhisker's death hit Robincall like a lumbering badger. The she-cat had been in the clan for as long as he could remember. He sighed sadly, gazing down at his paws. One 'paw blind, one elder dead, what is next Starclan? he thought helplessly.

Sandpaw watched the event unfurl from beside Swallowpaw. She was surprised he had taken the risk to leave the border patrol to hunt but was amused as she realised it was to catch a fish. Sandpaw chuckled to herself as Hawkfrost caught him but she stopped. What did he say? Pretty? Her pelt heated up, eyes watering and she instantly looked at her paws. “He just wants to get going!” Sandpaw responded to Swallowpaw as they matched step with the rest of the patrol. She felt awful for Swallow, not knowing what she would do if Hawkfrost had yowled at her, but she couldn’t keep thinking about what he said!

Echosong padded through the forest along with the rest of the patrol, her ears pricked and alert. But Hawkfrost's angry snarling brought her to a halt. She turned around, lashing her tail when he scolded Swallowpaw. She wasn't too happy about him snapping at her apprentice, but she didn't say anything, because she herself had not reprimanded Swallowpaw sooner and so she had nothing to be angry at Hawkfrost for. But when the younger warrior grew even more hostile, she hissed, "I think that's enough. Swallowpaw, go bury the fish by that tree and you can pick it up on the way back." Echosong ordered, an authoritative air about her that the gentle she-cat did not use often. She would not stand by and watch either of them act like kits. "Let's keep moving and hopefully not scare off all the prey in the forest for a foolish mistake." She added, glancing at both her apprentice and Hawkfrost in turn, before she turned and walked to the front of their group, leading the patrol onward.
