Name You'd Choose for It: Azeleigh
(Ah-say-lay)
Gender:Female
Reason You Want It:I have long wanted a feline character, and her simplicity called to me. She seemed to be hiding a dark past, and yet she was peaceful. She is the perfect character to involve in a story, which I have been longing to do. She looks wise, and intelligent.
Her story will continue to grow<3
History/Background/Other: Aze stepped through the ruins of what once was her magnificent home. Illustrious even. She had been a great symbol of power, a leader among her people. Her people. They were gone now, many dead, all others fled. She was their “shaman” as she had heard the humans call her type. She was firstly known as a healer, one who knew the ancient ways to treat wound, to seek out disease before it festers. Secondly, she was known for her reverence to the dead. It was rumored she could communicate with the souls of the departed. She had always smirked at that.
She fondly remembered a young kitten that had come to her earlier; before the destruction. He had only had a small ear infection, but his mother had been frightfully shaken, afraid for disease in her child. His grateful nuzzle was naught but a bittersweet memory now.
The humans, unable to comprehend anything beyond their own minds, had only seen their home as a condemned building. Curse their simple mindedness. She had been on the roof, watching as the sun appeared over the horizon, lighting up the world. As they came, she had run, as fast as her feet would carry her, to alert the others. The building began to fall before she could utter the words. The terror and shock could be smelled on every pelt, as some managed to escape as the building had creaked, but the elderly and the young had not been so lucky. Mothers had struggled to carry their litters, the elderly stumbling throughout the falling debris.
Grief overcame her. She knew not where she would go from here. The few survivors had fled to the higher grounds, the hills seen in the far distance – away from humans and their destruction.
It was in her blood, the healing. But here, she could feel the presence of the ones who could never leave. Not communicate – as the superstitious of her people claimed – but simply feel the presence. Strangely, what she felt was not a feeling or revenge, or anger. It was peaceful. They were at peace. They had died, given their lives to save those dear, and had died with honor with those they loved.
She would not wander. She would stay here, her home. Give the dead a proper last goodbye, a burial. Then, perhaps she would follow into the hills. But for now, she was at peace.
