Right. Well, since nobody is posting, I guess I will. First, though, I have to create a character:
Basic Character Bio form:
Name: Dorp
Species: Armoured rhinoceros
Gender: Male
Age: Eeight years old and in his prime.
Description (picture or written): Dorp is a magnificent specimen of his species. At eight feet high at the shoulder, he is massive, heavy, and covered in plates of grey metal armour, grubbied by travel and dented by frequent fights. His body is a dark, unspecific grey and the skin is leathery and creased under his cherished protection, but usually takes on the hue of whatever dust or mud he happens to be pounding his way through at the time. He has small black eyes set deep into his colossal head and surrounded by a net of wrinkles, and his two horns are tipped in gold leaf, as befits a chosen fighter. His legs are short and thick as medium-sized tree trunks, his body is huge, his tail is ragged and worm-like as it swishes the dust and flies away. His lip is square and blocky, giving him a particularly bland appearance. His feet have three toes with large, solid nails, perfect for kicking and trampling. A mean fighting machine, that's Dorp.
Personality: Armoured rhinoceri are not smart. Nobody can make that claim of them. Dorp, in particular, is not one of the more intelligent ones. He's not bright. He's not. He knows it. However, neither is he stupid. He thinks slowly, and takes a very long time to make up his mind, but once he has, he sticks to an idea with a dedication that is admirable. He's a loyal soul, who is not easily led. He's very much his own rhino (which is vital when one is in a herd full of creatures that look almost indentical) and has a kind open nature. He trusts only as far as he ought, but when he ought to he is forceful in his beliefs. He's a strong fellow, strong and resilient. He's a skilled fighter, but, unlike most of his species, tries his best not to base his entire being on that single ability. He's still young, still learning, and in his way, wishes to get a knowledge of the world and other creatures which he was not given in his somewhat monotonous life.
Powers (if any): Resilience to magic and almost limitless endurance (note: almost).
History: Dorp was born to a herd of armoured rhinoceri, one of thousands on the Plains of Kigir. It was not a particularly large herd, nor was it very ambitious. Nonetheless, his parents were pleased when they birthed him, a very large male calf. At his birth, male calves had been scarce, and it is never a bad thing to increase the standing of your herd. His fate was decided from the day of his immergence into the world: He would be a warrior, and would champion for his herd. He had no choice in the matter, and was too young to care. He quite liked all the attention he was given.
No rhinocerous is born with a desire to kill. Short-temperedness and aggression have to be carefully cultivated. Dorp's parents insist that his urges were not developed enough, while his tutors argued that he never had it in him. Whatever the case, Dorp had all the physical attributes of a warrior, but he just didn't have his heart in it. He was by no means last in his small, select class, but he did not live up to expectations. Rhinos are not prone to disappointment, so his parents took his lack of interest with typical lack of emotion. He finished the class, graduated, and that, for a while, was that.
However, then the creatures of Kigir were called to arms. The rhinoceri gathered their finest warriors and champions and, in the time-honoured role of the armoured herds, sent their strongest and best off to be slaughtered. Dorp's friends and family eagerly charged off to the Valley. He wished to stay behind. The elders didn't like that. They impressed on him the duties of the Herds, his obligations. They praised his strength and resilience, they scolded his lack of patriotism. It was all too much for the placid young male.
So, a few weeks late and utterly bewildered by his presence there, Dorp finds himself in the Valley, ready to prove his mettle in a fight to be included in the Army.
