I am aware of two currently existing legendary MYO's who both have unique legendary feather growths that are counted separate from their wing edits; (I actually own one of them, which is why I'm asking about this!) but it would be kinda nice to what exactly is up here honestly, as it's pretty vague at the moment!!



      Most of our edits are listed on the front page except those that require approval (such as Natural Mutations and Gene Splicing, since they vary). I am working on a redo for multiple of the front pages to better lay out traits and rules for the species. If you're asking about a reference list for all Kalons with certain traits this is not something that we have unfortunately.

      During the beginning of Kalons feathers was a trait that was considered Rare, but then later moved up to Legendary by a previous owner. All feathers are Legendary traits, even those previously considered Rare. The location/amount/etc. does not determine the rarity whatsoever. c:

      Wings and feathers are indeed separate traits. Wings can be feathery, but any feather growth found outside the wings would be their own edit under gene splicing.

    are you allowed to keep a kit as a kit even if you've gotten a growth done?

a bit confused here

so back when the contest for #1200 was posted, i asked a question about glow, specifically whether glow could have a "particle effect" of sorts. i was told that having this particle effect in glow wasn't allowed unless a kalon had legendary magical abilities (specifically light manipulation) - which is fair enough. however since then i've seen a multitude of kalons who have a particle effect in their glow but have no mention of any legendary trait which would allow this nor any mention of it being something other than the glow itself? (ex. #1150, nb #1480 (bottom left), nb #1507 (top left, bottom right), nb #1513 (all), custom, custom - last one has almost the exact kind of "starry" effect from the glow that i had w/ my concept lol)

similarly, i recently saw two kalons who had an extra limb on their back approved - under the condition that said limbs would be half rare (1 extra limb) and half legendary (limb in an odd place). however there's been two kalons (one from a nursery batch of the other) who've had an extra limb on their back and it was... just considered a rare trait for both of them, and was likely rolled as rare trait by the nursery artist? (two recent kals - 1, 2 | two old kals - custom, kit (top left))

i've also seen a lot of discrepancy with what's said to be allowed with halos vs. what halos existing kalons actually have + (not rarity-related, but still frustrating to see) someone's custom was denied unless they changed the muzzle bc it was drawn at a 3/4 angle - yet now there's a couple of approved kalons who's muzzles are... drawn at a 3/4 angle?

i'm mostly pointing this stuff out because it honestly feels like the staff doesn't communicate enough when making decisions, especially when said decision are made via pm. literally all of the above things could've been very easily avoided if staff had talked about it first. it also kind of makes it seem like a bad idea to contact staff about rarity (esp. via pm) at all because most of the time things that are questionable rarity-wise are completely skipped over in the approval stage unless you've previously pm'd a staff member about said thing??

I was searching through the thread and I didn't see any question like this, so sorry if someone's asked this before ^.^;

For legendary powers, if you were to have bred a kit that is a legendary kal (say, wings, for example), would it be unable to have powers at all because the power would not be included in the edits list? Would intangible powers (such as telepathy) pass down in breedings like physical legendary traits? Would this essentially limit intangible powers to only kals that have them when made, like legendary MYOs or main-page adopts? Thanks so much for your time, and my apologies if this is confusing ^.^;

      You're free to continue developing the character as a kit but adoptable-wise they're considered an adult once grown. c:

      The examples you listed we consider as sparkles for the glow. Particle effect could perhaps assume movement, which is maybe where someone you were asking may have been confused, as movement of the glow itself apart from the Kalon's own movements would be another trait. However stationary glow with these sparkles is fine.

      The odd placement of the limb is what is now considered Legendary as to slow down or cease the production of such a trait. Any Kalon therefore has had their trait moved accordingly, even those previously considered as rare as discussed with those who own the Kalons themselves.

      If you would ask some questions about a halo I would be happy to answer them. As for muzzles we're still working on ironing out discrepancies and sometimes that is a process that takes time. I can understand frustration surely, but we are actively working on the problems. The best rule of thumb is to simply not edit them.

      Last but not least your end comment is an entirely wrong assumption of the way we work here at staff, and this certainly is not the place for it. Any problems you have are more than welcomed to be messaged to myself or another member of staff who can help you. We as a whole communicate through group chats often. But considering we're all human, we have different timezones, and with well over forty members sometimes things don't get entirely covered and mistakes happen. That's all they are, mistakes, and ones we try our best to fix accordingly.

      Magical Abilities is a passable breeding trait and not one able to be added on to existing Kalons. ^^

When next do you think a kal with a rare trait will up for grabs for the people of cs? I'd love to see some in December...

      Rare adopts are only put out on every '50 ! So the next one will be when we reach 1350. c:
      Sometimes community members put their Kalons with rare traits up for adoption as well.

I do love kalons, but the cost of traits/myos is crazy, so i'll just have to wait out and give it a go for tht !
