Tracker Dog you want: #33

Name you'll give it: Cheetah

Reason why you want it: I've always wanted a tracker ever since I saw this forum. Sadly, I never got one. But hopefully I'd be more responsible and trusted with these beautiful trackers. Cheetah, the one I love, will be my forever friend.

Will it be used in any kind of story? Yes, she is Nynx's best friend in my story called "Chard Pack". She's basically the second main character.

Describe its personality:

*Dependable*: Her friends and family always depend on her to get the job done right. All her other family members leave it all to her. But, her friends depend on her in a good way. They depend on her that she will never worry too much, will always bring them joy, and stay friends.

*Explorer*:Everyday after her jobs are done, she likes to go exploring. She goes near the woodland mountains and starts hunting for all these different kinds of things that she finds on the ground, up in a tree, or in a field stuck in a rock. She'd bring them home in her sack she carries on her shoulder, and put them on a tree stump hidden outside by the orchid tree. It hid very well because she found a big trunk that looked like the other side of the tree but is actually the door to her whole collection.

*Dreamer*: She dreams about running as fast as a cheetah. So, she decided to do track. She is very good at running, but fairly good at jumping. So the instructors talked about moving her up to tracker hunting and ability skills training. Her instructor, Target, trained her and trained her just like all the other trackers. But, Target had a feeling inside that Cheetah would become a VERY good tracker.

Write an introduction for your Tracker:

It was sundown, as Dagger was healing in his den, Mesa set out two groups of three hunting patrols to collect food for the pack. While some of the wolves of the hunting grounds stalked their prey, they found an unordinary, smelly scent that tingled their noses. They followed the scent into the bushes by a small river and there, they found a wolf catching fish. It was a she-wolf that was purple with yellow and black markings, a few scars on her legs but in perfect condition. Did she belong to any pack? No, her scent, a rouge! She escaped from, Galation Pack a little while ago. Frightened, she walked back slowly, so slowly you couldn’t hear her. “It’s alright. We’re friendly. We come from Chard Pack. I’m the hunting Patrol Leader you’re looking at. The name’s Chief. We need to know your information, what’s your name, what pack you came from, and your ability.” “My name’s Cheetah. I’m two years old, I came from Galation Pack, and my ability is speed.” said Cheetah staring deeply into Chief’s eyes. “Guys, um a little privacy please! I need to speak to this Juno alone for a few minutes. Catch up with you later.” said Chief signaling for them to leave. “Alright boss, we’ll give you some privacy.” said Swiss winking at Chief.
“So aren’t you amazing you little squirrel! I could take you down within ten seconds!” teased Juno ready to fight. “Oh yeah, try fifteen.” said Chief winking at Cheetah. “Let’s see.” she scrambled to her feet, and jumped in the air and landed on Chief’s back. Chief got a hold of her leg and pulled her down leaving her on her back. “You’re a pretty good fighter too.” said Cheetah laughing as she was taken down. “Told you I’d beat ya!” teased Chief and licked Cheetah’s ears. Stunned, Juno finally got up and started walking with Chief back to the territory and joined Chard pack. Cheetah and Chief became mates.

Tracker Dog you want:
#33 please

Name you'll give it:
Zenobia
Queen Zenobia was ruler of the wealthy city of Palmyra in the Arabian desert.

Reason why you want it:
Well, I've always stalked the Tracker threads, but I never applied for one. I don't really know why, I just never did. I've actually almost posted a few forms but just never posted them. This Tracker fits with the character in a story that I'm writing and I thought it would be perfect for that character.

Will it be used in any kind of story?
Yep. In my story whose name is currently pending. It's about a dog who thinks it will never get adopted but then someone adopts her/him and then that dog works for the police and has sort of adventures and stuff.

Describe its personality:
(This is kind of short because I'm not very good a describing the personality. I'm much better at developing it during the story)
Zenobia is very kindhearted and absolutely loves little children. She's very gentle with everyone, except enemies, and also very tolerant of things that would normally annoy someone. She's great at tracking down poachers and such, and she loves her job. But she always enjoys a break and loves any attention she gets from the comrades on her team.

Write an introduction for your Tracker:
The door creaked open and I pricked my ears up to listen, thinking that maybe this was finally person who’d take me home with them! I had watched so many of my friends go out that door with happy new owners, but nobody ever picked me. Maybe because I was different than all the other dogs? My strange markings, long tongue, and lack of eyes did scare off many a person, but surely someone special would be able to look past my strange outer appearance to see the great personality I had inside. As the footsteps approached, and, judging by the heaviness of their footfalls, I guessed that it was a child, a woman, and a man. The man was probably one of the workers here at the pound.
“What kind of dog are you guys looking for? We have many different breeds and sizes here,” the man, an employee named Rick, asked the mother.
“Well, I’d like a large, but gentle, dog. Gentle, so that it won’t hurt my little Sally here, but big enough to scare away prowlers at night," she answered.
"Pick me!" I barked, "I'm gentle and good at keeping away prowlers!"
The woman let out a squeal of terror and I her her quickly back away from my cage. "What is that?!" she practically yelled at Rick.
"That's some sort of... mutant... dog thing," Rick replied, really unsure what I was. "The dog I think would be perfect for you two is over in a different section," he said. I listened as they walked off and through another door.
I plopped down onto the floor, feeling really depressed. Will anyone ever want me? I wondered. But, really, what am I? I have no eyes and my tongue always hangs out of my mouth. I must look like a freak!
Somewhere in the middle of the thoughts racing through my head, I drifted off to sleep...
~.~
I awoke to the sound of more people coming through the door. How long have I been asleep? I wondered.
"What kind of dog are you looking for?" asked the same employee who had shown the mother and child around.
A really hyper-sounding lady replied, "Well, I don't know. Something unique and good for police work."
"I think I have a good dog for you then," Rick said, walking over to a cage. "This is Ruby, a German Shepard and a great police dog."
"Um, I'm kinda looking for something a little more different. A German Shepard is just so... cliche. Do you have anything else?" she asked. Suddenly she gasped and ran over to my cage. "This dog is really unique! What can it do?" she excitedly exclaimed.
"I don't think you'd want that dog, madame," Rick said uncertainly.
"I like him" the lady said, reaching between the bars to scratch between my long ears. "May I buy her please?"
"Well... I guess. If you really want to," said the unwilling Rick. I couldn't understand why he didn't want her to buy me?
"I'm absolutely sure I want her. She'd be perfect for the job!"
"Okay, I'll get the papers," Rick said, walking off.
The lady leaned down and whispered excitedly to me, we have great things planned for you!

Nevermind, I decided I don't connect with #33 as much as I originally thought. Good luck to everyone else who applied!

Tracker Dog Application Series 11

Wolves Run Free

Tracker Dog you want:

Tracker Dog #35 | Available until April 2nd
Gender: Male
Whether its clean water or murky water, this Tracker doesn't mind. He'll gladly take on any job and is always eager to receive the praise that follows. He loves attention, but knows not to blindly follow the one who gives him the most love. He loves to stand in the spotlight though, which makes it hard for him to work along with other animals. He does appear to have a certain fondness for children, but that's most likely due to the extra attention he receives from them.
Image

Name you'll give it:

Xerox

Nicknames:

Xero
Exy
Rox

Why:

Xerox is a very unusual name, and it fits him because of his odd coloring. He also thinks he rocks, so that is put in the name. The person who used to pay the most attention to him gave the name to him, and even though that person no longer is around Xerox would refuse to be called by any other name.

Age:

2 1/2 years, Birthday July 21st, 2009
Teenage Tracker Dog

Weight:

29Ib 4oz

Height:

10"

Species:

Aquatic Tracker Dog

Reason why you want it:

Although "Beautiful" does not fit him, handsome does, and he takes my breath away. His personality is flawed, making him unique, and I love him for that. Although I have trouble expressing my emotions for him, he is amazing, and I feel I will never be tired of him. I believe he will also be an amazing story to write about, and I hope I get more than one chance.

Will it be used in any kind of story?

Yes, because I write a lot, and his personality makes him a very fun creature to write about. Brave and eager, selfish but smart.

Describe its personality:

Brave:

He would jump to the ends of the earth to please someone who would praise him. He is very brave in dangerous situations that have nothing to do with emotions.

Eager:

If he could speak human, in one hour you would be driven to chew ALL your fingernails off. Almost every minute he would ask, "Is there any thing I can do?" or "Praise me!"

Selfish:

Okay, he cant STAND anyone else hogging the spotlight... and get's a little rude... but you can overlook that... right?

Smart:

He would not blindly follow someone just because they pay him attention. He would figure out their motives and think it through.

Lonely:

A desperate drive to be loved makes him crazy to be loved, and a terror to be left behind drives him to beg for praise.

Likes:

Praise
Children
attention
jobs
fish (to eat)
flowers
swimming

Dislikes:

Being Ignored
food out of the ocean
ariel tracker dogs

Write an introduction for your Tracker:

The children raced down the hill towards the pond, screeching in delight. The lone Aquatic Tracker Dog sunning lifted it's head, eyes glittering in the sunlight. It silently watched as the children stopped at the edge of the murky water, and started having a skipping stone contest. One child squealed as a fish leaped from the water, and two others started a splash fight. The Tracker Dog watching was brown and red in color, with webbing connecting his tail for speed and with blue markings on his face. With a leap, the tracker dog bounded up to the children. As one, the children yelled in happiness and started petting the dog at once, not stopping until the sun started to threaten to sink back into the hills. The children waved and shouted goodbye, and raced back to their homes.

None of them noticed the Tracker Dog saunter back in the direction of a facility hidden in the horizon. It stopped and barked, scratching at the door. The door opened, and a young teenage boy grinned and laughed as the tracker dog sat down, looked up, flicked it's tongue out longer and made it's lip tremble. The teenage boy laughed, and went back in, reappearing with a teenage girl. They laughed. "Doesn't he rock?" The boy asked proudly. "Yup," the girl said, rubbing his head. "Say that five times fast!" The boy laughed again. "He rocks, heroics, erocks, xerocks, xerox! Hey," the boy added. "Xerox! What do you say boy? Good name for an aquatic Tracker?" Xerox yelped and leaped and pounced on the boy, slobbering on his face.

The girl shook her head. "How are you so lucky, Zero, as too work here where they breed these things? I would kill for a job like that!" She added. Zero smiled. "It comes with having a dad here," he said proudly. "But Samantha, you know you should not be here right now..." Samantha scowled, and playfully whacked him. "You aren't any fun anymore," she said, annoyed. "All you care about is this place!" She stormed off, leaving Zero looking into Xerox's hopeful face. He grinned, and started absently rubbing Xerox's nose.

Zero walked back inside, and left Xerox sniffingg where Samantha was disappearing in the horizon. Then he trotted back after Zero, swallowed up by the darkness of the academy. Inside, Xerox tilted his head, and sent out some clicks to tell his surroundings. Then he followed Zero down the corridors. The yips and barks around him made him flick his ears back and trot faster. When he entered the office, several humans were talking. Xerox lifted his head, and, upon not receiving a single glance, growled and hung his head. I am here, aren't I? He shuffled to the corner and whined. The humans continued talking for a while, but he did not here anything about him at first.

Then, with sneaking glances at him, they leaned in to talk. Then they started taking about something interesting. "Zero. Did you take 35 out for a stroll? He can be such a hard Tracker dog to take care of. Xerox lifted his head, and growled quietly. "We have a rescue mission for 35... and 76. Zero, here are your info papers, and you are in charge of the rescue." They handed Zero a large stack of papers. Zero nodded, and, placing his hand on Xerox's back, led the tracker dog out of the room to stop by a pen.

Upon opening the latch, a Tracker Dog strutted out. Xerox wrinkled his nose. On it's back was wings. An ariel. "Ew, gross!" Xerox yelped. The Ariel growled too. "Gross is right! Your colors are disgusting! What died on you?" The two circled each other growling. Zero grabbed Xerox and pulled him tight. "I know you don't want to work with her, but you know you have to." "SAY WHAAAAAT?!?!" Both Trackers screamed in ultimate disgust. "I am not gonna go with that... thing!" They said at the same time again. Then they looked at each other. "Stop copying me!" They yelled.

When Zero finally dragged the two Tracker Dogs down to the sea nearby, Xerox sniffed at a river. 'This comes from my lake!" Xerox murmured in surprise, watching as it flowed into the ocean. "Big yip." Growled 76. Zero knelt down, holding out a piece of tattered cloth. "This captain got lost at sea.. can you guys find him?" Zero asked, looking into Xerox's eyes. "Bet I can find him first for you," Xerox said, sweetly butting Zero's chin. 76 snarled. "No. You. Aren't. I can find him first, and I will get all the credit!" With that, she leaped into the sky, sailing out to sea. Xerox yelped in anger. Then he leaped into the water, and ducked under to start swimming.

Underwater, the familiar feeling of flyings coursed through Xerox's veins, making his heart beat faster. This is where I should be, Xerox thought smugly. Not flapping around like a seagull like that idiotic Ariel. Xerox flipped onto his back, and looked up at the surface. Why is there a storm so suddenly? He thought, surprise shooting across his face. It just... appeared!

Above the waves grew choppy, and the currents started to toss Xerox around. He closed his eyes and searched the scents of the sea for the captain. There! A shadow passing overhead... the lifeboat! Xerox pushed off and swam up to the boat and hopped on board. There was a figure, but it was huddled pup against the storm. "Captain!" He barked, running over to the figure. Bending down, Xerox nosed the figure, and barked in pain as 76 dive bombed him, tossing him to the other side of the ship, knocking Xerox close to unconsciousness.

Xerox opened his sensors, head swimming in pain against the driving pain, and listened as a figure got off of 76. It was Zero. He jogged to Xerox, and knelt down. "I am sorry, buddy." Zero said sadly. "But this guy has a great wealth, and I can be, no, will be, his successor. You just get in the way.. unless you join me. Come on, XErox, you can be by my side.. forever! How great will that be?" Xerox froze. "No." He rasped, then growled so Zero got the message. With a sigh of defeat, Zero turned away. "Come on, 76. Lets leave the two here." With that Zero turned away, and Xerox, trembling in pain and confusion, feinted.

Where...? Xerox sat up, muscles shrieking in pain. Birds chattered and chirped, and a breeze that rustled leaves echoed around Xerox. The Captain moaned, and rolled over, his breath rasping in his throat. Cold anger shot through Xerox. T-Traiter! Xerox sputtered, then flinched when reality set in. Limping over to the Captain, Xerox dragged him to shore where there boat had gotten lodged. Putting the man under shade, Xerox wondered where they were. And how long the man could live.

Dawn took forever to make an entrance. Xerox had cried all night, loneliness chasing away his dreams of playing with Zero. Xerox sat up, grabbed hold of the Captains sleeve and pulled forward, setting off to the East. They continued for many hours and, for once, Xerox didn't want any attention from any humans. Soon the buzz and pattering music of a city could be heard, and Xerox angled toward it. Unfortunately it took 3 more hours to reach, courtesy of Xerox's amazing hearing.

On the news, Nex, director of the Tracker Dogs facility peered at the News channel on the television screen. It showed a tracker dog that Nex knew well, number 36, dragging the subject of the mission down the stereo, people running from the unknown dog species. Nex smiled, and whipped out a cell phone. Then Nex made a few calls.

Uh, oh. The humans that had scattered earlier in black uniforms (as far as Xerox could tell) had returned. They circled her, and one pulled out a whip. As Xerox turned to face them, hands grabbed the captain, dragging him away from him. Xerox cried out, and lashed with his paw. "You don't understand! I am only doing my job!" He barked in alarm. Then the whip snaked out and cracked across Xerox's facing, leaving an imprint that cried with pain.

Xerox backed away, then turned and ran smack dab into a crate. When he whirled back around, it was too late. The door had slammed shut. He had failed. Xerox moaned, and curled into a ball. "Oh, Zero." He said sadly. "What happened to the boy I played with as a puppy?"

As the hours trickled by, slower than years, Xerox tossed and turned. The crate was bumped and tossed, and Xerox blankly wondered where he was going. Then the door opened. Hands gripped him, and a voice whispered quietly. "It's okay. We got Zero AND the captain. Great job, 36."

Xerox faced ahead. How can I ever trust another human? He thought sadly, picturing Zero's leering face and the cops capturing him. But then he pictured the laughing children, and the directors welcome scent. Then he raised his nose and smiled. He hoped he could get a new friends sooner than later. Little did he know the In need of new home sign by the window.

Look here for picture!

Tracker Dog you want:
#35

Name you'll give it:
Pelagic

Given Description:
Whether its clean water or murky water, this Tracker doesn't mind. He'll gladly take on any job and is always eager to receive the praise that follows. He loves attention, but knows not to blindly follow the one who gives him the most love. He loves to stand in the spotlight though, which makes it hard for him to work along with other animals. He does appear to have a certain fondness for children, but that's most likely due to the extra attention he receives from them.

Nicknames:
Pelican,
Seasel,
aqua,
agua,
vase.

Reason for names:
Well, I went to the very faithful Thesaurus.com again and typed in "aquatic." This gave me a very long list of synonyms for the noun and adjective form of the word. I finally saw this one: Pelagic. It has quite a nice ring to it, don't you think? As for the nicknames, They were just randomly pulled from my mind. Some are real words, but I mostly played around with vowels to find the right nicknames.

Physical Description:
-A very leathery, and scaly skin that it made up of different pigments of brown, and murky russets.

-Bright aqua eyes

-Vivid royal blue tongue

-Well blended cobalt ears

-A stocky build with many different fins to propel him through the swampy waters

-An extremely sensitive cerulean nose to locate items and people in the water.

Hourglass:
4 years. It takes experience to do what he does.

Gender:
Nothing but Man.

Avocation:
He is a search and rescue Tracker. He often will accompany his owner to the site of disappearance/accident and use his acute senses to find and retrieve the lost person or item. Pelagic does not do search and rescues in dry climates, but he does function quite well in swampy/aquatic environments.

Reason for Avocation:
Pelagic is a glutton for attention, and he loves swimming in the far reaches of the aquatic plane. There are many different ways for him to succeed in his mission, each is more spectacular than the last.

Parents:
Theatrica -- His mother. She was the sweetest Tracker there was until she decided to meet his father.
Forgen -- His incredibly sneaky father who often robbed banks using his charm. That's how he got his mother.

Siblings:
None. They all left when he was born because they didn't want their belongings stolen, and they hated him teasing them for attention.

Additional Information:
-He is very self-righteous

-He is very conceited

-Overconfident

-Was abandoned by his mother and father when he was young

-Found by the Training Facility and put in one of the Aquatic kennels.

-He is large for an Aquatic Tracker, but that's because he has an issue with being a glutton when he eats.

Reason why you want it:
I need a good friend, and I saw this Tracker. He really is quite adorable, and he likes attention, but doesn't work well with others. I can't even think of a better match!!

Will it be used in any kind of story?
Of course he will. Flying, or should I say swimming, solo in a fabulous story set in the Everglades.

Describe its personality:

[Overall]
He can be a pain at times, but that just makes him all the more like me.

[Heroic]
Pelagin loves the spotlight, and what better chance for the spotlight than being a hero? He will dive through the smallest crevices and the deepest trenches to save those in distress. Many think him kind, but he just loves the attention.

[Brave]
This Tracker is always willing to go through the harshest places for his owner. He is very brave in the sense that no matter how dangerous, no matter how far, Pelagin will do anything to protect the ones he loves.

[Curious]
Pelagin loves to explore. He can often be seen roaming amongst the mangroves in swamps or searching through the rich weeds that are threaded through the sand at the bottom of certain deltas.

[Solitary]
Yes, Pelagin likes to help people, but he also hates it when another irritating being gets all up in his face. He likes to be separate from the group unless they are giving him pleasurable attention.

[Greedy]
This Tracker loves something else that seems to take everyone's hearts: Money and Food. Pelagin eats all the time and he loves everything around him to be the newest and the best of the area. He often will steal his owner's credit card and swim up the nearest stream to the closest Wal-Mart and purchase something very expensive that he won't have to pay for.

[Clever]
Oh, dear. Pelagin has struck again. What's missing this time? My watch, my wedding band, and my favorite DVD. Not even the security cameras can catch this Aquatic mystery. He always seems to elude his owners and steal their most precious belongings. Try as you might, there just isn't a way to stop this little thief.

[Selfish]
Pelagic cares for only himself, with the exception of his loved owner of course. He eats all he can and leaves little for anybody else. The only reason he likes to be on search and rescue missions is because of the fame and rewards after. He will often shove others off of the sofa and he will change the channel on the television as well with his tongue when you aren't looking.

Write an introduction for your Tracker:

I stood in the lobby of the Tracker facility, looking anxiously around for a Tracker Associate. There never seemed to be anyone who would help me here, even though I had been here many times. I always left the Tracker Adoption Facility empty handed, but I had a feeling today would be different.

I sat down on a bench near the cages; I listened intently to the noise that always erupted from the kennels. Several of the cages shook and clattered to the floor with a loud crash. Every time there was a spill, the employees would fret about it and hastily clean it up before blaming the accident on each other. There was a great deal of barking and yelping involved with those incidents as well.

I just kept my seat and waited patiently. I wasn't here to observe their misgivings or ill luck. I wasn't here to listen to the ranting of various adoptable Trackers for hours on end. I was here for a certain special business of mine.

I sighed heavily and leaned back in the bench I was occupying. I got here in the cold of the morning for nothing, I thought. There was nothing for me here. I might as well go to one of the employees and tell them I'm leaving. I may just live my life without a friend, without a family, without anybody, Just like I always have working the FB--

My nagging thoughts were rudely interrupted by a splash of water and a growling, or what I thought was growling, noise coming from behind me. I spun around in my seat, ready to yell at the worker who did that, but then I stopped.

The being that splashed me wasn't an associate. It was a rather handsome russet skinned aquatic Tracker dog with bright, sneaky blue eyes and a royal blue flicking tongue. That must have been what he splashed me with, I concluded. Gross. I was about to rise and complain to a caretaker about this Tracker's violent behavior when I realized he wasn't growling.

His dark tongue was flipped out the side of his snout, and he had his teeth flashing back behind upturned lips. No, he wasn't growling. He was laughing. At me! I was so angry, but also so euphoric. That handsome face was so adorable! I couldn't help it. I had to laugh too!

I made a B-line for his kennel, which turned out to have a rather deep pool of water that went into the ground beneath him. He looked rather large for an aquatic. He still held that same expression, but now a mischievous spark glinted in those gorgeous aqua eyes. I barely had time to shield myself before I was bombarded with a series of jets of water. I was laughing and he was too, or as much as he could anyway. A small, but assertive Associate came over to me and looked like she was about to explode.

"Look at this mess! Now I have to clean that up too! You ignorant little adopters have no idea what we go through to get these Trackers!--" She went on and on and on.
"I want to adopt this one.--" I said in a normal tone while she was still ranting.
"Up to date and ready for your petty little!--" When will she stop?
"Please listen to me.--" Oh,dear.
"Homes! And you don't care at all because you're a--" I finally took her by the shoulders.
"Please! I realize that there is a mess, and I'll clean it up! I told you that I wish to adopt this tracker!" She finally stopped her nagging. Thank goodness.

The little caretaker looked behind me and instead of looking at me with a serious face and giving me the papers, she laughed like the lunatic she portrayed.

"Him? You want that insult to the tracker world? HIM?! Oh don't make me laugh dear, it gets my blood pressure up too high." This was too much. I took her in my hands again.
"Please. I'm not kidding. This little misfit is just like me. We just played together. Don't most people shy away from him?"
This seemed to catch the small woman off guard. "Who are you?" she inquired in a cautious voice.
"I am Nancy Grace, and I am Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and I would like to adopt this Tracker as my companion and as an Investigation Hound." The lady went white as my momma's morning biscuit gravy.
"Y-yes ma'am. I'll get the papers." The pale woman shuffled off hurriedly toward the back of the Facility.

I sighed heavily as I stooped down to rest my hand upon the Aquatic Tracker's scaly head. I hated revealing my identity, but it was necessary in order for me to get this Tracker. My eyes lifted from the halfway submerged creature and settled on the woman that was jogging down the hallway with a small stack of papers in tow. She was about to hand me a pen and direct me over the form, but I simply waved her away. My hands practically flew across the numerous forms as I filled them out. This had to be done quickly, or the Tracker would be lost to me forever.

-----------

My cherry red Viper sped down the street as I came from the Training Facility. The Tracker, whom was given the name Pelagic was now tucked away safely in the back. I was lucky to get to him so quickly, I thought. They had no idea what he was. I lifted my shielded eyes to the rear view mirror to take a glance at the Tracker in the back. The FBI was in dire need of Pelagic, and I would make sure that he was ours. Such a sweet little thing. I'm glad that I'll be the one to keep him safe. How is it that we are so much alike, I wondered as a smile tugged at my lips.

With the sun splashing harshly onto my skin, I shifted into 5th gear and put more pressure on the gas pedal. My smile faded and what little you could see of my eyes darkened as I recognized the sleek black Jaguar that pulled out behind me and matched my speed. I moved into the left lane, so did they.

Don't let them get Pelagic!

My mind was now racing as fast as my little Viper. I turned right onto Redwood Avenue, and they followed closely. With my horrors confirmed, I removed my cheap sunglasses and slid on my Ray Bands with an extra dark tint. I hit the nos button on the little sports car's dash, and glanced back at them. One of them put his torso out of the passenger side window, sporting a black object that glinted in the sunset.

My signature crafty smirk returned for the first time in weeks and only one thing was on my mind at the time:

This is gonna be fun...

Adoption Application
Please fill out entire form to the best of your knowledge. Thank you.

-Basics-

Name: Summer
Age: 2 years, 4 months 11 days
Gender: Female
Species: Tracker dog
Cage Number: Thirty-three "33"
Note: Better suited for warmer places
Siblings are not biological siblings, just the trackers released when she was

-Details-

Why do you want this dog?: Leopard print has always been one of my favorite patterns, so as soon as I saw Summer, I knew I had to try for her. Her purpose matches her pelt so perfectly, it surprised me a little. I adore the blue highlights of her ears and scent organs, it's a little splash of color that makes her stand out.
As soon as I saw her, a story started writing itself in my head.

What will you do with the dog if you were to get her? She'd be the main character in a story that I started planning as soon as I saw her. She would also be part of a permanent rotation with Atreus, the Serenche Lartin in my signature. I'd also use her in roleplays and short stories that don't relate to her main one.
Will it be written about?: Absolutely.

-Family-

Parents: Unknown
Grandparents: Unknown
Siblings: Trackers 34 and 35
Aunts & Uncles: Unknown
Nieces & Nephews: None
Cousins: unknown
Children: None
Grandkids: None

-Appearance-

Coat: Light orange-tan base coat with white socks and a white underbelly. Cheetah spots on her haunches and scruff.
Size: 2.5 feet at the withers, 4 feet from nose to tail
Build: Sleek, well muscled
Picture: See beginning of file

-Love-

Crushes: None
Mates/Spouse: None
Status: Single, not looking
Preference: Males

-Behavior-

Personality: Summer is very fiesty, and is usually always in motion. She absolutely loves her job protecting the animals on the reserve she lives at, and takes her duties very seriously. When she isn't working, which isn't often, summer is usually curled up sleeping under the branches of one of the many trees on the reserve. She is extremely cheerful when she's not working, seeming that no one is a stranger. When she is on duty, however, it is wise not to approach her unexpectedly. Summer loves animals of all kinds, making her very well suited for her job.
Usual Mood: Cheerful when she isn't working.
Serious when she is.

-Skills and weaknesses

Skills: Summer is very adept at tracking, like all other tracker dogs. She also has amazing stamina when she's chasing down a suspect.
Weaknesses: Summer is absolutely fearless, and does not think before running off alone after an armed poacher.
Items: She wears an LCD harness when she patrols at night so that her partner can see her.

-Then and Now-

History: Summer was born to a pair of trackers, so she is a pedigree, but that is all we know of her birth. The identity of her parents and any siblings she had is unknown, mainly because she was deemed a runt and tossed into a separate cage, where she was giving supplements that helped her grow. Once she was old enough, she was thrown into training, which she took very seriously. The rigorous training built her muscles up, filling her thin form out. By the end of the training camp, Summer was as big, if not bigger, than her littermates. When she was finally released for public adoption, she didn't stay in her cage long before being adopted.

Story Cages rattled around me, punctuated by the sounds of slamming doors and metal bowls hitting the ground. It was feeding time, and the other trackers were ramming their cage doors for food. I sighed and curled up, knowing that making a ton of unnecessary noise would not bring me my food any faster. When my cage door opened, I expected to smell a bored employee pushing a food-filled bowl at me, but instead a man knelt in front of me, staring at me. He carried scents I'd never smelled before, and that interested me. I got to my paws, my tongue flicking a few times as I made an image in my mind of him. His clothing had the particular smell of a uniform, and I could tell that he was relatively tall. It was the wilder scents he carried on him that interested me though. They were musky, some kind of animal I'd never encountered before. Before I could continue to inspect him, a female voice broke my concentration.

"This is the tracker you asked about, Ranger." Ranger? He protected animals? I let my tail wag as my mind traced over the implications of that, if this man was the one who took me home. "Yes ma'am. She is perfect. What do I need to do to bring her to the reserve?" "You already filled out the paperwork, and you were approved. So all that's left is taking her. I see you have a harness, would you like to put it on her?" The man didn't reply vocally, but I felt gentle hand urging me out of my cage. Once I was outside of the confinement, I felt something slipped over my head. The scent told me it was leather as it settled low on my neck and my leg was lifted. I felt another strap slide into place under my arm and around my chest as the strap was fastened and tightened. A clipping sound from behind me alerted me to the fact that a leash was being attached to the harness, and suddenly I was released.

I took a step forward, feeling that the leather harness was not uncomfortable at all. I shook my fur out, feeling that the harness moved with me. I liked this much more than the choking throat collars the employees here used on me. "I think she likes it." the ranger said, watching me. I heard a chuckle from the female, followed by rustling paper. "Here's all of her paperwork. You'll find her birthdate, vet records and Tracker chip ID number in there. If she ever takes off after someone or something and you can't find her, you can call Nex, or one of the employees here, give them that number and we will find her using that chip. Her tags are also in there, it'd be good to clip them to the harness she'll be wearing most of the time." There was more rustling, and then the woodsy, musky scent that I was rapidly coming to recognize as the ranger was in front of me. He messed with the front of my harness and then stood up and backed away. "Thank you Elisa." "No problem. Enjoy your new tracker, Ranger Brody." I heard a click that I'd be trained to walk to, so I started walking, hearing heavy bootsteps behind me. We made our way out of the Tracker Dog Adoption center, and I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off of me.

It didn't take long after arrival at the animal reserve for me to realize that my job was very important. I was the one in charge of protecting the animals that live here. Humans liked to sneak onto the reserve and kill these creatures. Brody called them poachers, and said that it is my job to keep them away. I took my job very seriously, and still do. One day I was resting under the shade of a tree when I heard the sound of a human trying to be quiet. I tested the air, using my enhanced senses to form a picture in my mind. It was a man, older and fatter than Brody. In his hand he carried a weapon of some kind, one that was obviously not designed for killing humans. I growled low in my throat and got up, making my way towards him, my body low to the ground. My ears were tilted towards him, and the lights in my harness were off. They wouldn't come on until I pinned the guy. I crept forward, then sprang as he was taking aim at a gazelle. The gun flew out of his hands as he hit the ground, and I heard a low swear come from him. I planted my paws against his shoulders, holding him down, and twisted my head back to bite down on my harness, lighting it up. I knew an alarm would go off in Brody's cabin, and that all I had to do was hold the man down until the ranger got there. This would be the first man I'd gotten before an animal was shot, and I wondered what that meant.

Two weeks earlier
"Ranger, your tracker dog has not managed to save any animals since you've obtained her. Therefore, she hasn't done much good." I let my head fall into my hands with an exasperated sigh. "Sir, we have saved the animals. Those animals were given medical care, and they survived rather than being skinned on our land. She has saved more animals in the last few days than any of us were able to in a month!" "Still. We were under the impression that she would prevent the shootings in the first place. She has yet to do that. She has exactly one month before she gets sent back, Brody." I sighed again and nodded before stepping outside of the building. Hw exactly was I going to help my tracker do what was ridiculously expected of her? I shook my head as I stepped off of the porch, watching Summer trot up to me. I knew she could sense that something was wrong with me, because she stopped and tilted her head, whining softly. I knelt in front of her, running my hands through her silky fur, a soft smile on my face. In the few weeks I'd had her, I'd really developed a connection with the pretty little tracker. Summer stepped closer, laying her head in my lap, trying to ease me as best I could. "Come on Summer. Let's go home.
Today
The blaring of the alarm woke me up, and I leaped out of bed, grabbing my badge and Summer's leash. I could see her LCD harness almost as soon as I stepped outside of my cabin, so I started towards her. I didn't hear any animal cries of pain, and I wondered if Summer had been too late. When I found her, she was sitting on a man's chest, growling at him whenever he moved. A hunting rifle lay on the ground a few feet from them, and the ground was scored with claw marks, making it obvious Summer's quarry had put up a fight. Clicking my tongue, I moved the tracker off of the man, helping the man get to his feet. [b]"What did you kill?" I asked, fighting to keep the anger out of my voice. Summer let out a single bark, making me pause. The man glared at me, wiping bloodfrom his split lip. "I aint shoot nothin'." he spat, anger in his eyes. "Your stupid mutt stopped me. Your precious animals are safe." I glanced at Summer, who dipped her head. She'd managed to prevent an injury to an animal. I smiled, my mind going back to the meeting about her performance. "Maybe now they'll back off." I thought, patting her head. "You're coming with me sir." I said, dragging the man out of the brush. As I walked, a called back to Summer, "His gun, girl. We'll need it." She gingerly picked the rifle up between her teeth and walked along behind us, careful not to let herself apply enough pressure to make the gun go off. Once we reached the cabin, she let the gun down on the ground. I turned and picked the gun up after giving Summer the command to watch the would-be poacher. Once the rifle was unloaded and set aside, I cuffed the man and waited for the police to come apprehend him.

I listened as Brody did what he always did when I brought down a suspect. I could sense that something was different this time, however. He seemed happier than normal, and kept petting me, telling me I was a good girl. IT confused me. What had I done that was different from any other take down? Was it because none of the animals were hurt? I didn't know, but I wasn't going to question it. As long as Brody was happy and the animals were safe, I knew I'd done my job properly.

He has an acute sense of taste and smell which acompanies his job.

Trackers Owner's Information wrote:Owners Name: Shade
Owners Age: 25 years old
Owners Gender: Female
Occupation: Underwater Object search diving team
Occupation Involves: Shade does that ‘specialist’ job of the team. She trains the dogs to do their jobs. She also trains other tracking dogs, but her paid job is to train diving dogs, and dive.
Years of Practice in the Job: Shade has been in the job for 5 years, but has been training Tracker dogs since she first discovered the breed.

Description from Nex: Whether its clean water or murky water, this Tracker doesn't mind.

Reason why you want it: This lovely tracker needs an experienced owner. If i got my hands on this gorgeous tracker, I could possibly get him used to working with other animals. I love his colouration, one of the best I’ve seen.
Will it be used in any kind of story? I am still deciding whether or not to use him in a story. He could defiantly have an excellent story to himself.

Describe its personality: Merchant is a bit of a sucker for the kids. He enjoys any attention that comes, especially praise after doing his job correctly. He enjoys his job as an ‘Underwater Object searcher’ with the diving team.

Write an introduction for your Tracker: The cool murky water around me, I was surprised Shade still had me go in. I am looking for the body of a teenage girl. The police received a hint that a murderer in the small town of Flagstone had abducted, murdered, and hidden a body. The water in this lake was disgusting. Sitting still on the top of the water were duck weeds. A thick disgusting plant. But the animals seemed to not mind. I could see Kangaroo’s coming to the water’s edge for a sip of the cold liquid. But they weren’t swimming in it. As the divers finally got into the cold water, shade swam over to me. I was about 10, maybe even 20 meters away from the edge of the water. This lake would take at least 2 days to search the entire.

As the divers all gave a thumbs up to the computer tech on the banks, and to each other, they dove. Shade motioned for me to begin working, and i did just that. Diving under the water and I had to look. I couldn’t see much, so my eyes lite up deep aqua blue. It didn’t do too much, but it almost dissolved the dirt in the water. My body swam like some sort of dolphin. My nose going down then up, and repeating itself. My fins almost flapping like a bird. It felt amazing being in the water. Whenever I swam, I felt free. Just like a bird in the sky. I was free. But I had a job to do. I had to look for that girl, I had to find her to put her families minds at bay! I couldn’t let them go on knowing their daughter was gone, and wasn’t in the lake, but hasn’t come back. I could let that happen.

As a fish flew past my face, I almost flipped out. It was huge, and it scared me into a freak. I was trying to calm myself, but more fish just came past. Scaring me even more. Before I knew it, shade had swam up and was calming me. I couldn’t do it myself! Without any more startling, I swam quickly to the bottom. Using the ground to push myself along as I scanned the bottom. I could taste something in the water. It wasn’t a dead fish. It wasn’t anything as such. It was the girl. I swam to find Shade, which wasn’t that hard since she was only a few meters behind me. We searched the area I could taste her in. Before long. She was there. Motionless. Blank. Pale. It was as if a sudden miserable feel spread through the water.

AFTER THE GIRL HAD BEEN REMOVED FROM THE WATER AND TAKEN BY POLICE
The local Mayor had a community meeting in the local community building. Thanking me, Shade and the other divers. But we weren’t the only ones being praised for our efforts. Another tracker Shade had trained was there. I think his name was ‘Sleeper’? I couldn’t remember. Be he was a stealth tracker. Apparently he was the one who tracked the smell of the girl the that lake. I already didn’t like the guy. He was happily sitting on the other side of shade. Before long, I was growling. He was stealing me light! He received a metal too. I just received a badge. The mayor thanked us one last time, and the audience clapped. That dog sat proudly. I leapt around Shade, I couldn’t help myself but grab him on the neck.

Sleeper yelp, he wasn’t going to fight back. He knew I was the bigger one. He didn’t stand a chance. But my dog fight didn’t last long. I blacked out after feeling a sharp prick on my back. When I woke I realized I’d been tazered, and I was home with Shade. But she wasn’t acting like her usual self. Every time I went to see if she was ok, she’d yell at me and move away. At one stage she made me go outside. I didn’t know what to do. It was tough for a while after that. Before I realized something. I’d been fired, and Shade had to train a new tracker. It was more work for her, when she had a tracker that was perfectly good for the job. I learnt a lesion that day. The world doesn’t evolve around me. The spotlight isn’t mine, it doesn’t have my paw prints on it.

Aw, Tracker #35 just captured my heart. ;A; Too bad my mediocre writing skills will never be able to compete with any of these forms. ((Is there a way for us non-writers to ever get a Tracker?))
Well, anyway, I'll be loitering around until I get a second chance to apply for one.
