The point of artist searches is to try to become an artist for the adoptable.
Using the adoptable as a base to create a character or just to color it isn't allowed.
While you did mention that you didn't plan on becoming an artist and wanted to edit it, it would still be nice if you respected the fact it's an actual artist search and not just a free way to color it as you please. ^^'
