Hmm... I already posted a form, but I think I'm going to sit this one out. I can't get inspired!

I think i'm going to sit this one out too. I have been thinking all day ('cept when I was driving of course) , and I can't think of any suitable names, personalities, or stories for this round. Not to mention i still have my custom waiting in the side wings for customs to open. With any luck I can catch 'em.

Anyway, just a question aside from filling out a form and going into a bit of a writing competition and stalking the custom to be opened, is there any other way to get a tracker? Wondering since I'm too lazy busy to sit down and write a good form lol.

Why Atreus?
"Atreus" is a greek word meaning fearless, which he is.

Reason why you want it:
I've had an idea for a book about an arsonist running rampant and the fire and police department trying to catch him for some time, but I just haven't had the muse. Then I saw Atreus, and the muse came flooding in. He's perfect for the story, and is just what the fire department needs to find the arsonist before he strikes again!

Will it be used in any kind of story?
Yes, he will be the faithful companion of the main character, a female firefighter named Leia.

Describe its personality:

Fearless
Atreus is absolutely fearless, just as his name states. He will not hesitate to go into a burning building to rescue someone, or to bring a suspect down. He will always be there when he is needed, no matter how dangerous the situation is.

Cautious
While he is fearless, Atreus is not stupid. He is careful when he goes into burning buildings, and when he is tracking a suspect. He knows his limits, and will not hesitate to abandon a chase when those limits are reached. It takes him a little longer to abandon a rescue, but he will if needed.

Loyal
Atreus is absolutely unfailingly loyal to his handler. He was stay at that persons side through thick and thin. He loves everyone, but is most loyal to his person, and usually will only show aggression if he is told to, or if he is protecting someone.

Fun Loving
Atreus adores fun and games. He loves to play with his person, or really anything that can keep him amused. Despite his goofy personality, Atreus knows when to focus and does not play around when he's on duty.

Tenacious
Atreus is extremely tenacious, which ties into his being fearless. If he takes down a subject and they fight, he will fight until his target gives up, no matter what harm comes to him in the process. Once he sets his mind on a goal, he does absolutely everything in his power to achieve it.

Innocent
Atreus hates getting into trouble, so he will avoid breaking any rules. He hates harming anything unless he's working and absolutely has to. Although he is helping to track down some of the cruelest humans known to man, Atreus is completely and blissfully unaware of the evils of the modern world he lives and works in.

Empathetic
Because of his rescuing tasks, Atreus is extremely sensitive to the emotions of others. He will do anything he can to soothe a frightened person while he helps them out, and he will show equal aggression in a suspect when facing one down. He is most in tune with Leia, sensing the tiniest emotional changes in her.

Intelligent
Atreus is very smart. He observes and seems to make mental notes when in a new situation. He also makes decisions and choices, and learns from his mistakes. He is intelligent enough to communicate with people, although he is mute.

Independent
Because of his intelligence, Atreus is also very independent. He does his own thing, as long as he knows he wont get in trouble for it. He has his own thoughts and expresses them, although he is mute and cannot make noise. Despite this independence, he will do anything to please his handler.

Leia cursed and jumped back as a piece of the burning ceiling fell, landing where she'd been standing seconds before. She knew the fire was too intense for her to safely keep going and she turned back, desperately trying to ignore the cries for help that emanated from somewhere within the burning apartment complex. As she staggered out of the inferno, her friend and partner, Marsh, caught her, his dark eyes just as intense as the fire. "It's too intense." she coughed, letting herself lean on the other firefighter. "There's no way to save them, Marsh." Anger shimmered in her voice and eyes as she turned to look at the wall of flames. "That will take the death toll to fourteen." Marsh nodded, his eyes on the arsonist's latest project. "This has to stop." he thought to himself, wrapping his arm around Leia's shoulder. She was covered from head to toe in soot, and was obviously fighting the urge to run back into the building. Suddenly, with a loud groan and crack, the building collapsed into itself. Terrified screams rang out, and then were stopped short as the debris hit the ground, sending a plume of smoke into the air. Leia spun and buried her face in Marsh's shoulder as he led her away from the destruction. As they walked, Marsh scanned the gathered crowd, as he'd done with the last four fires. Arsonists enjoyed watching their handiwork, so each night, he searched for a familiar face. His search was cut short, however as a police officer hurried over to him. "Are you the fire captain?" the young officer asked, his eyes on Marsh. Before he could answer, Leia lifted her head. "No, he isn't. I am. Have you found something?" The officer considered it before he spoke. "We haven't found anything to give us a clue about the identity of your firefly. We have, however, found something we think will help." Leia nodded, then gestured for the young man to continue. "Follow me, and I'll show you." She nodded again, and followed him to his cruiser, curious. Reaching in through the open passenger side window, he withdrew a strong leather leash and handed it to her. "You're going to need this." he said, laughter in his voice. She took it, an exasperated sigh escaping her lips. "I've already told your chief, we don't need a dog." He ignored her and opened the back door of the cruiser, stepping to the side. "Leia, this is Atreus." She gasped as the creature stepped out, testing the thick air with his senses. His pelt had iridescent yellow stripes on it, and his ears were also brightly colored. His base color wouldn't attract heat from the flames from the fire, and seemed glossier than a normal pelt. It was obvious that he was built for fighting fires. She gasped again when he turned his head and gazed at her. "He has no eyes." she whispered, feeling slightly unnerved. "He is a tracker dog. Nex specifically bred him for use fighting fires." She nodded, her eyes on the dog. He was about as tall as a Bernese Mountain Dog, but was built more like a greyhound, slender yet muscular. He'd be able to twist and turn better than she would in her bulky oxygen gear. That made her think. "What about oxygen?" "He wont need an oxygen supply for himself, but he has been trained to carry tanks for victims he's rescuing." "What do you mean he doesn't need a supply for himself?" The officer knelt down next to he dog, gently turning his head to reveal small holes behind his nose. "These pits convert smoke to oxygen. That way he inhales smoke, and can convert it. However, he can't do that if the smoke is too thick. He also can't be burned as quickly as we can. His pelt excretes a fire resistant chemical, but it is not indefinite." "Alright." Leia nodded, already picturing the rescue missions this...tracker dog could accomplish. "However, there is one thing you should know." Leia turned to face the officer, waiting. "Atreus is mute. He cannot bark, whine or make any noise. Therefore if you release him to track, you will need to have some other way to find him. As of yet, we haven't figured out how to use him as a long distance rescuer." She nodded, looking down at him. "And he can help you find your arsonist." Leia nodded once more, turning away. "I need to show Marsh. Atreus, come." After giving the command, she walked away, the tracker dog trotting obediently at her side. She smiled, picturing her partner's reaction to the interesting creature.
((A little further in the book. By this point, Leia, Marsh and Atreus have gotten used to each other. The arsonist has hit three more buildings, and now knows that they have Atreus.))
Leia stared at the writing on the wall in horror, her eyes flickering back to Atreus. The arsonist knew, and by this little message, it was obvious that he would be targeting her canine partner. "See spot run. Spot run fast. Spot can't outrun the flames of time. Or of my fire." Atreus, picking up on his handler's anxiety, shifted his weight and opened his mouth in a silent growl. "What's wrong Leia?" Marsh stepped up behind his partner, his eyes landing on the black scrawl. "He's after Atreus." At that, the tracker dog lifted his head, focusing on Marsh. His mind went over what was just said and he shook his head, stomping his paw. Leia's eyes flashed in anger as she looked down at her beloved tracker. "I wont let anything happen to you, Atreus."Her sincerity rang in her voice as she spun to face Marsh. "Was he here again?" Her partner nodded, his eyes flashing. "Just like the other times, he was there, watching the flames. When I started towards him, he took off." Leia's eyes narrowed and her hand fisted at her sides. Atreus nudged her, his ears trained on her. She looked down and smiled, her eyes on the oxygen tanks strapped into his harness. Tonight, they hadn't been used, because everyone had gotten out safely. Kneeling, she unclipped his harness and slid it off of him, handing the leather to Marsh. "When's his next training exercise?" he asked as he took it, his eyes also on the tracker. "Tomorrow night, if this streak doesn't continue. A fire a night for two weeks...he's trying to run us ragged." Marsh nodded, tightening his fist on the harness, his eyes flickering back to Leia. "I wont let him hurt her." he thought to himself, steeling his resolve.
