The Sivern that you wish for:
See above
Observations:
After watching this small herd of Siverns for a while, I noticed this guy. He seems to be the leader of the herd, often putting the others in their place. Interestingly enough, he seems not to care whether he is wild or tame. He's indifferent, and so far, we haven't found any one treat that he seems to love. He does, however, hate colorful food. Doesn't matter what that food is, he absolutely seems to hate it. His markings are what have me the most intrigued, however. He reminds me of an appaloosa horse. I will have to watch him a little more, he's caught my interest. I think I'll call him Divuit, or in English, 18, because of the odd marking on his shoulder.
Unique/Interesting Fact?:
*Found in the researcher's journal a few weeks later*
I've been here for a few weeks now, and have discovered something new about Divuit. It seems his skeleton is built much like a cat's. I haven't been close enough to touch him yet, but I believe he lacks a collar bone. I saw him squeeze through a hole in the fence not much bigger than his head this morning, after a mango, which we have discovered is his favorite treat. Once he had his prize, he simply squeezed right back in through the same hole.

The Sivern that you wish for: The First one. Rare.
Observations: (This is from my POW.)
Early one morning, I headed out to see some of the Siverns from the ranch, and one in particular catches my breath. Its long fur blows in the wind, dappled with big dots. I walk a closer, and I slowly put my hand out to touch it, but it just backs up, and runs to it's friends. It seems to be nice enough. All the other Siverns would have bit, kicked or just hurt me if I'd walked up to them like that. I headed home, with a little spark of hope in me.
The very next day, I got my water bottle- ready to have a long day of spotting Siverns- and headed out. As I reached the place where I'd last spotted that beautiful Sivern, I saw him laying there, staring at me with his little eyes. I slowly walked toward him. He eyed me warily, and started to slowly get up as I got closer. I took a step back, and sta down, ready to wait as long as I could to befreind this Sivern. About fifteen minutes later, he took a step closer to me, then lay down. he watched me the whole time, but I would let him do whatever he wanted to me. Another fifteen minutes, and I scooted closer to him. He looked at me, but not with fear. With curiosity. I moved closer. Closer. Finnally I got close enough, that if I'd stretched out my hand, I could have touched his muzzle. I poured out some water into my and, nad put it out so he could drink from it. He shook his head away, but he came back, and sniffed. He opened his mouth, and drank a little.
I was so happy I could have started jumping up and down. I took my hand back, and dripped the water onto the ground. I looked into his eyes, and he looked right back at me. I smiled. I slowly put my hand out, and touched his muzzle. He flinched his head back, but then he put it under my hand and closed his eyes. When I took my hand off, he opened them up again. And in the small second, it looked like he had trusted me.
Unique/Interesting Fact?: It seems this Sivern it exrordanarily nice. He will come walking over to me, and nuzzle my hand for me to pet him. He seems... ore domesticated than the others. Calm, and sweet. He is my faveorite.
Didn't see this one till now.

Sivern: Number Two, See Above
Observations:
3-14-11Of the many strange creatures around, this Sivern has caught my eye. Not just because of his wonderful honey-amber color, but because of his beautiful markings. They were not like the others, which were rather plain, but seemed to glisten and shine in the sun's light. Upon further inspection, I found that they were not in fact permanent markings, per say, but a kind of natural "paint." This confused me terribly, so I proceeded to follow him until I could stumble upon an answer. At the beginning of each morning, before all the others awoke, he would find a quiet corner and paint the markings on himself. I assume that he must be fairly self-conscious about his marks. The fact that he has no unusual markings or colors, just the same brown all over his body, must be what drives him to color himself.
3-17-11He likes to paint. Of course, that's no surprise to me, but I still find it funny. He lives up in a very big tree, explaining his leopard marks, which represent climbing skills. After he left to find some lunch, I climbed up there and after much trouble, and a few failed attempts, reached his nesting spot. What I found was extraordinary; his entire tree was covered in every color imaginable. The pictures were beautiful, and depicted among many other natural scenes, the same female Sivern over and over again. I'm beginning to suspect that he's looking for a mate, or some Sivern girl, though I can't be positive. He may just prefer to paint portraits of his fellow friends. Still, she looks very beautiful, and from what I've discovered, seems to be singing.
3-19-11I have named him Kemen, which is Basque for courage, because of his stunning display of bravery today. It all started when two young female Siverns were resting beneath his tree. A group of five older males came along and began to torment the two females. Almost instantly, Kemen dropped down next to the girls. I finally saw him close to other males his age and older, and noticed that he was considerably larger than they. After barking a few harsh warnings at them, he was attacked, and defended himself and his home proudly. He managed to fend off the other Sivern males, and the two females were unharmed. Still, before even getting to receive any kind of praise, he was back up in his tree. I wonder if he finds any other Sivern interesting? He may paint females all over his tree, but when it comes to rescuing them, he doesn't care about what happens once they're safe.
3-20-11I found out the reason for Kemen's behavior today. It seems that he belongs to a strange pack of Sivern, which follow unusual traditions. Such traditions are that upon "coming of age" at around two years, in the Spring, they are put through some sort of test or trial. If they pass, they are painted with peculiar new markings and become honorary pack members (as a side note, the meanings of his markings are below). However, most members are painted with a special dye that lasts longer in the fur, and not the kind of dye Kemen uses. I have come to believe that he is ashamed of using this unique paint and hides the fact that it washes out regularly, for fear of being forced out of his pack. I still wonder what he is looking for, though I suspect it might be a mate, but he isn't acting like the other Sivern hoping for love. Maybe I can help him find whatever he's lost?
Unique/Interesting Fact?: His markings have very fascinating meanings, of which I was lucky enough to find out.
Facial Marks- These represent wisdom, stemming from the grey hairs that grow here on most elderly Siverns.
Leopard Spots- For his incredible agility and fine climbing ability.
Leg/Foot Pad Marks- Swift-footed, or the ability to think on the spot and under pressure.
Tail- Clouded paint which is symbolic of being very open-minded and willing to accept that which cannot change.
Arm Mark- It is not an "18" but actually a line and infinity, or "straight to infinity", meaning his mind is set and he is filled with an unwavering determination that could last for eternity.
