hey, this is super cute! i like the proportions you chose for the chibi style, plus the colours are very attractive too!
however, for the markings, perhaps putting them down a little softer would be nicer, like with a large pen tool on low opacity. it could give an appearance that's a little too messy, but you should experiment! for the lines, i suggest messing about with the smoothing setting on the pencil tool. the lines look see-through in odd places, but the pencil tool is solid colour + a higher smoothing setting would cut some time off from trying to smooth the lines out afterwards. :>

Thanks for the feedback; this is really helpful, and I'll try to incorporate some of the tips for coloring in later drawigs! If you don't mind me asking, what percentage for the smoothing setting would you recomend?

the smoothing really depends on the person. i'm a mouse user and i frequently draw lines/sketches with 55-65 smoothing, however to make longer strokes or extra bendy lines i sometimes change to 70-80. i find 90 and up + 50 and below impossible to draw with because i'm too impatient for the former and the latter makes my lines a lot more shaky. writing, however, is easiest with about 40% for me. i've no input about tablet users nor trackpad users though, you might want to ask around for that or experiment on your own!
