... I somehow doubt that LOL that's another reason I'm interested in comparing the rerelease data

As far as the system was/is concerned, yes
(and October 2008 and Advent 2008 were so close together that I kinda doubt there was a lot of error despite being on the old rarity system, which did not ignore inactive accounts or pets on inactive accounts and was in use until August 2012)
I'm not really surprised since... there were a ton of October 2008 pets floating around lol while we had pretty tight adoption limits for the advents!
EDIT: oh hey I'm at the top of the page again LOL Since I'm here,
THE NEXT TWO ITEMS ARE DIRECTED AT EVERYONE1) Solloby's hoping to get more people with statistics knowledge on board! Right now it's basically just us two (there was also an actual stat major, but I think they're busy now? D: ) and it feels kinda weird (at least to me) as neither of us have more than an introductory knowledge of statistics
2)
The next step(s) that anyone can help with: drafting a presentation format for the data/conclusions! Here are some details from Sol's previous posts:
Solloby wrote:I will post the results here in a fairly raw format but we can start discussing a template for releasing our information in a more user-friendly format for general consumption too.
Something that contains the image, pet name, litter name, the rarity % per litter, if it's doable the % across litter but will need to check if the rerelease data is sufficient for such a comparison first, whether the rarity is statistically different compared to its littermates, example adoption #s (like that Sorbet eg from last page where if you adopted 8 you get 2 of each colour). That sort of info, nicely formatted. Would also like to set up a nice spreadsheet for the full raw data dump for stat-interested users on top of the easy-to-read info. That's the forward plan right now, I think?
Solloby; this is the referenced "that Sorbet eg" wrote:My original plan was to use CS posts with images and provide examples in addition to the % figures such as "if you adopted 8 Sorbets, on average 2 would be pink, 2 would be green, 2 would be yellow, 2 would be blue". I think that might help for litters like the sundogs to make it clear how much rarer a sunjewel is compared to a sunback?
