Does a staff member have to make your HM custom, or can they be self-made and then approved by a staff member?

HM customs must be made by an artist/a nursery artist!

why must HM cutsoms be made by artist? its already pretty hard to find artist to grow kits, also some artist would like to be paid and not a lot of users have point or pets to be paying for artist to create their custom. So, its should be better to create them yourself! It should be fine as long as they show proof of all the HMs.

I also have another question regarding myos. I know that this has happened during Check's ownership of the species and probably won't happen again, but what about the users who dont/cant acess usd/da points? Would myos be able to be sold for pets again? Perhaps starting out with just standard and common? I think it would be fair for the coppa'd users and the kids to have a chance as well. It would be more of like the item store except instead of having a certain amount up for sale, it would be a limited time offer thing maybe every month or so.

Sorry i got a bit carried away, i just think it would be a good opportunity for new designs and people to join the community <3

Aa we implemented this rule a while ago, actually!
(There were a few questions about it on this thread.)
If I recall correctly, your HM custom (made by using an artist entry) was deemed an exception because it was already approved by Minti herself!

The answer would still be no; artist entries cannot be used for HM customs, regardless if the one who made it was hired as a full artist. HM customs must be completely new designs created by an artist.

Pardon me for saying, but it does seem a bit odd that HM customs are only semi-customs...
After all, HMs are earned through hard work in competitions and take quite a while to add up until you can actually put them towards a kalon, whereas MYOs are pretty much just purchased and not necessarily as deserved through hard work. Not everyone can afford to buy MYOs, and there is already such exact rules to the number of edits you can have for an HM custom anyways. Not only that, but there are not always official artists available to make the HM customs, and as someone mentioned before, they often want to get paid for spending time on something that is not within their technically required duties. That means that not only do we have to work really hard for honorable mentions to put toward a custom, but then we have to pay someone on top of it. Then we have to wait until whenever someone has the time to complete it.

To me it just seems to be creating a ton of extra unecessary work for both artists and those who want to have HM customs made? It would be a lot less work for everyone if we were allowed to make our own HM customs and then get them approved...

I don't mean to sound rude or anything, I'm just pointing out some things that I think could easily be resolved with a simple solution. I understand if you don't change anything about it though, have a wonderful day everyone! c:
