Tracker Dog Application Series 9

Tracker Dog you want: Number 28
Name you'll give it: Jariatzean means "secretion" in Basque
Reason why you want it: Well, I like the rough-and-tough girl characters, and she's the perfect description of that. As for Trackers as a whole, I love the design, and the stories, and...well, everything really.

Will it be used in any kind of story? Perhaps. I never really know when I might get some wonderful burst of inspiration and start scribbling away about the dear little Tracker.
Describe its personality: Insanely intelligent, highly durable, and obedient when she feels like it, you gotta work hard to make sure you're the one commanding her. She has a love of wandering off and doing her own thing, but usually comes back when she knows you want her to. Sometimes she just wants a hug, which in sadly and unfortunately not easy to do because of her toxin secretion.

Write an introduction for your Tracker:
Good? I did that good? Good. If Trainer is not pleased with it, it will have to be done all over again. Now I can do the next step.Jaria slides her bony yet wiry body beneath the barbed-wire fence, seamlessly getting through unscathed. She sprint on, paying careful attention to the murmuring tones of her teacher, the trainee, and her owner. It was pretty much ehr goal in life to do her job right, even if it worked her to death, and she would.
I do not remember this part. Perhaps it is made to test my adaptation skills. There was a pause as she hesitated for a moment only, then pushed on, a minefield ahead of her. Nose to the ground and paws light over the ground, she uses her sharp senses to pick up the tell-tale signs of mines.
A meter or so in, there were no signs, which made her stop. Cautiously, she turned her head back to look at the three.
This cannot be right, there is danger here, not the schooling mines. Even Trainer is unsure, and Owner looks concerned. What about Student? He is gone, he must have left recently. His soapy clean scent still lingers. No, wrong. I must get out. With the utmost caution, she turns in the places her paws already rest upon and struggles to retrace the exact measures she needed to get back to her paw print.
Was that a click? perhaps I was mistaken. No, there it is again. And again. And now beeping. Oh no...it's Student. With a deafening roar and a wall of red and flame, each and every hidden mine went off, engulfing the prized Tracker in what must be an inferno.
Probably a WIP, if I want to downplay the drama in it slightly.

Tracker Dog you want:

Image
#28

Name you'll give it:

Biohazard [Hazard]
Though that is the name she has been given, she is more used than her orginal name, "Subject 28." Having spent so much time in the lab where attaching a name to an animal that they thought would eventually destroy itself, few felt it was right to name her.
Even now, some time after, she hasn't quite taken to her new name, so she is far more commonly referred to as 28. Biohazard is merely a formality, really.

Reason why you want it:

I've been lurking around this thread for a while now, waiting for a tracker to fall in love with and try for. All of the designs so far have been amazing, but unfortunately none of them really inspired me. With her I can plan out her entire history just by looking at her, and there's so many things I want to write. I've been waiting a long time to be able to adopt one, so maybe with luck she'll be mine. x3
I've actually wanted a tracker for a while now, ever since the original trackers were released. Back then I didn't spend a whole lot of time in the adoptable oekaki section though, and always missed the adoptions for the ones I was interested in. I had completely forgotten about them when you stopped making them, until Leeli had me draw her's. It was a lot of fun to draw, and I remembered the species. Luckily you had just started this thread up, so now I finally have my chance.
That, and I've always loved poisonous/toxic designs like this. The idea tends to be pretty overdone with all the lime green and black wolves with glowing green, radioactive venom coming out of their eyes though. 28 isn't anything like this, though, the poison idea is well thought out and very well organized. I like the idea that her own poison can kill her, as well. The other problem I've had with them is that they always seem invincible, it's interesting to see a different take on that.
Besides all that, I think she's actually really cute. Deadly and terrifying, but vaguely adorable. (did that even make sense? xD)

Will it be used in any kind of story?
Of course. I'm hoping to continue the story below if I win her, and she'd actually fit in fairly well with the rest of my characters.

Describe its personality:

Subject 28 is a strange one.
Sheltered off from the rest of the world, she was raised in the strange, sterile white building of the laboratory.
She was a weapon, a secret. Hidden far away from the prying eyes of the public for fear that something would go wrong. One misfire, one miscalculation and everything that they worked for would be gone.
She would be gone.

This history has shaped her, and with good reason. Hunger becomes a very terrifying feeling when you know how quickly it can kill you. Not by starvation of course, unlike many 28 doesn't posses such luck, but by her own poison. One missed meal is all it would take to start. The damage she could do to her own body far surpassed any injury any other could inflict.
This has, perhaps, has made her just a bit paranoid.

She needs to know everything. How much food she had in her stomach. How much would be required to carry on throughout the day. How much poison she currently carried in her system. She has become obsessed with these statistics, reciting them almost constantly. There is nothing more terrifying to her than the unknown. 28 is a creature who needs to be in control, no matter what the circumstances. It's almost cruel that such a creature would be trapped within such a horribly unpredictable body.
28 has come to rely upon the more stable and dependable aspects of her life, particularly her memories. The past never changes, no matter what is happening in the present the past will remain unaffected. Something about this is calming to her, and this is what she focuses on, almost to the point of obsession. Every scent, every flash of color is stored deep within her brain. Her memory is one that some may call photographic, though how close this is to the truth isn't quite clear. Her memory is one that she has acquired through her own effort and habits, rather than any sort of gift. If anything it's a problem, a disorder, some kind of disease. Like her own poison, it's caught somewhere in the grey area of a blessing and a curse.
Every night, while the other sleep, she lies awake, reviewing everything. Down the tiniest detail she remembers it, storing these facts away, engraving them deep into her brain. She mustn't forget, no detail can be overlooked. Every morsel of food she ate, her target, the faces of men whom she'll never see or likely need to remember again, and everything in between. Not even the most painful of memories are spared. Starvation. Cruelty. Loneliness. Stored to be relived a thousand times, unable to be pushed away and forgotten. To forget, to her, is even worse a pain than the memory itself.
It's a habit, a cruel, terrifying obsession. The memories won't stop, the flashbacks will always come.
It's not a simple question of forgetting. No memory, no matter the pain, will stop her. Her memory is all she has, and she'll cling to it with her life.

Despite her effectiveness in the line of duty, there's no mistaking the battered pup that lies inside.
It's not simply the memory that plagues her, nor is the fear of starvation. Mentally, 28 is weak and submissive. Highly unpredictable, a deadly weapon in the wrong hands. Hazard, it seams, is a fitting nickname for the tracker, both for herself and those around her. She knows her strength, she knows what she can do. And it terrifies her. Just one shot is all it takes to paralyze, or even kill. One false move and the man whom you were simply trying to detain would be dead. Too much poison and it travels to the lung, stopping the airflow.
One chase, one stupid decision and they'll never move again.

There is perhaps no worse sight in the world than the light fading from a man's eyes, the eyes of a man that you destroyed. No worse feeling than knowing you've taken someone's life. A life of a criminal's, a murder's even, but a man nonetheless. A living creature now dead at your paws.
But then, there's a strange joy that comes upon you when it's what you've been trained to do. A success, something worthy of praise, even. An almost justified murder. It was a criminal. They killed. They stole. They resisted arrest. They escaped. No one like this deserved to live, she was doing them a favor by taking them off the street.
The feeling that you're a monster, but yet you've done absolutely nothing wrong.
It's a feeling she must live with everyday, with every new mission. Caught between her training and what few morals she still has left, and her own mind at war with itself.

---

It would seem foolish to send such a troubled young female out in the field of duty, especially one of such power, but 28 is a strong creature. She lets nothing slow her down. Through all the flashbacks and the doubt, 28 is loyal to the very end. She uses her faults to her advantage, in the best of ways she can. Leading her handler to a location most have forgotten, or by showing mercy to her targets.
There is perhaps no greater bond between tracker and handler than the bond Jake and 28 share. With others, her paranoid suspicious nature causes her to analyze their speech, looking for any lies within their words. With Jake, there is no such procedure. The two share a friendship that I can only hope to find one day.
-Dr. Walsh; Mandatory Psych Evaluation

Write an introduction for your Tracker:

Drip.
She needed to find food. Something, anything. She was going to die. She had to find food.
Drip.
The sacks were melting, the hole grew bigger and bigger as more dissolved in the acidic liquid.
Drip drip.
Where were the scientists? They had food. They knew what to do, why weren't they here? They wouldn't let something like this happen to her. Maybe they were in danger, attacked by some foreign enemy. She had to find them, catch the criminal she was so rigorously trained to pursue.
Maybe today was her day, her first mission.
Drip drip drip.
She had to find them. She had to...

Suddenly everything faded, her senses too weak to detect anything.
Then everything came back into view, the pain in her sides gone. Just as they had been for months, fully healed. They told her it shouldn't pain her anymore, the doctors always debated over why the female continued to wake up screaming in the middle of the night, uttering the most painful sounds they had ever heard.
But they didn't understand it. The stress, the pain of feeling left alone.
It was a failed mission, just as she was regarded as a failed experiment. A prototype. A model for those to come, but largely useless in more practical matters. The mission was a standard tracking mission, a simple training run. Much more fast paced and tiring than that or the average tracker's run, but these scientists wanted to test her limits. They saw potential in the prototype, and they were determined to prove she could be of use.
But the mission took more energy than previous calculations had suggested, and that had nearly cost her her life.
It wasn't the wounds that still hurt her. It was the scars, the knowledge that one wrong move would be the end of her life. One routine mission had become a turning point in her life, changing her from an enthusiastic soldier to a cautious, fearful little creature.
She shook the thoughts from her mind, directing her attention to another, almost familiar sounding voice.

"Oh hey, there she is." A loud male voice called out. "What's up, girlie? Didn't think I'd be seein' ya again."

She knew that voice. Just before she blacked out that day, she heard that same voice. She remembered, as she always did. She remembered the bright green glow about him, full of life.
But most of all, she remembered his embrace.
He was the one who found her, who swept away the acid surrounding her, hugging her close to his body. His kind, whispered words.
"It'll be alright, girlie."
She liked him already.
"Everything is going to be just fine."

Note: Jake is just a character I made up, I feel weird writing in third person. A lot of other forms mention themselves instead, so if that's how it's supposed to be I'll change it.

Am I allowed to say that I would very much like to shoot almost every other person (not Joy ) who will be good competition for 28?
Unless I post somewhere, I'm not selling/trading closed species critters.

Lol. I, too, would like to know how you came up with the design and how you did it? or if you didnt, who did?

Well.. a lot of designs, including this one, are inspired by my other project. I tend to base special Trackers off of Nex' race, seeing as it would be there that she'd get her inspiration. The spikes on this Tracker are based on the spikes of the Morcitre, a sub-species related to Nex'. The exterior armor comes from the idea of insects and their exoskeleton. The bone protruding from the shoulder comes from the idea of yet another sub-species of mine. Basically, Tracker 28 is constructed from elements easily found on Nex' home planet, but not in the way they're put together on this Tracker. It does take a while to find a good mix of these elements, and it took me several sketches to get it right. I just sketch until I find a good composition.

It feels weird talking about character Nex while my username is also Nex.. Makes me think I'm speaking in third person..

Tracker Dog you want: #28
Name you'll give it: Antidote
Reason why you want it:
I've admired the Trackers and have been wondering where to get one from. I just stumbled upon this place, and I saw #28 was still for adoption. I fell in love with the design and desided if I get her, she would instantly become a part of the story I am writting. She would be a good friend to the main character, Soul, who is also a kind of mutant, thing. I would love it if she could become my first tracker.
Will it be used in any kind of story?
Yes, yes,a million times yes! I think she'd make a loverly character to continue my story and bring new life into it.
Describe its personality:
Antidote is a sweet and kind girl. But because of her apperence, people think she is evil, wicked and bewitched. She has been kicked out of many of her homes in fear she will curse everyone within a certain range.
Write an introduction for your Tracker:
Antidote ran through the forest, fear in her eyes. She knew she had done something wrong, but couldn't work out what. Soul was right about the Tudors, they didn't like unwelcome guests. Makouki was a bit of help, convincing the Queen not to kill the mutants.
More to come.....
