Introduction; The world is a dark place, even in the brightest days, but there's not much sunlight anymore. The year is 2073, Ian Nhax has reached the fine age of fifteen, it's time for him to make a living on his own. Survive or die. It's plastered on posters, tacked on to crumbling buildings that lost their beauty years before Ian was born. Times have changed, laws are in place.

Years had passed since laws fell into place to protect their slowly rotting planet. Overpopulation a growing issue became the leading issue in an accelerated rate of the decay of the Earth. There was no more help from the government, it was survive or die. There was no place for the old and sick that couldn't work, that couldn't afford the privileges of medical help, food, housing, or more. One child per household. Anymore would result in a hefty fine to the family and the child being taken away. Food was scarce, many families living on the bare minimum such as a loaf of bread for the week, rice, a small ration of fruits and vegetables, and limited water. It became common practice that once a child turned fifteen they would be cast out on their own, the family unable to support them any longer. The government had not foreseen this outcome, yet found it a great natural culling of the over population in the world, but it had become a quick issue in the world was losing healthy, young workers so a law was put in place. At the age of fourteen all children would take a series of tests, gauging their usefulness in the community. If they passed the children would be moved to permanent housing with all their necessities at the age of fifteen to bring them into the work force.

If the child failed, they'd be left to fend for themselves once they turned fifteen. Ian Nhax was one of these children that failed their test. Now he's left to the cruel, unforgiving world.
