Application
1. What date did you register as a CS member?: September 29, 2008
2. How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 353
3. Without posting your age, are you old enough (and willing) to risk seeing adult content when screening posts that are waiting for moderator approval: Yes. With my own daughter on this site, I understand and appreciate the importance of keeping inappropriate content off of the site.
4. How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Every Day
5. How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? Probably anywhere between 2 and 5 hours on average. Being a stay-at-home mom, it's easy for me to check in throughout the day.
6. Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them: Yes. I was a moderator and quest (content) writer for Horse Isle 1, under the username of Tempest. Duties included moderating both the forums and real-time in the game world. I was also the owner/administrator of a sim horse game well over a decade ago during my college days, which ran successfully for 3.5 years before closing down.
7. Now the important question: Why do you want to be a moderator for CS? I have adored this site since the day I adopted my first pet back in August of 2008. Never has a game captured my attention so completely and continuously. I am truly passionate about this site, and have a strong interest in seeing it continue to run smoothly, and be an enjoyable and welcoming community. I would consider it an exciting and humbling opportunity to be of first hand service to the staff and community, and an honor to be instrumental in making CS a friendly, peaceful, and enjoyable place. Above all, I love to be helpful, and firmly feel that my maturity, objectivity, patience, fairness, integrity, and cheerfulness would do well in filling this role.
8. Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required): I think, in this case, my particular skills lie in my personality. I am a extremely calm person, who is not easily offended. I have experience dealing with difficult people in difficult situations, and understand how to be firm, yet respectful and positive, when enforcing rules. I have never been a pushover, whether dealing with game moderating, live people in real life employment, or with my own children. I was also a riding instructor for my university for about 7 years, so am quite comfortable with leadership and the process teaching/explaining. Also, I have a tendency to be an optimistic person with good humor, which I think would do well in contributing to a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere.
