Application

1. What date did you register as a CS member?: September 29, 2008

2. How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 353

3. Without posting your age, are you old enough (and willing) to risk seeing adult content when screening posts that are waiting for moderator approval: Yes. With my own daughter on this site, I understand and appreciate the importance of keeping inappropriate content off of the site.

4. How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Every Day

5. How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? Probably anywhere between 2 and 5 hours on average. Being a stay-at-home mom, it's easy for me to check in throughout the day.

6. Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them: Yes. I was a moderator and quest (content) writer for Horse Isle 1, under the username of Tempest. Duties included moderating both the forums and real-time in the game world. I was also the owner/administrator of a sim horse game well over a decade ago during my college days, which ran successfully for 3.5 years before closing down.

7. Now the important question: Why do you want to be a moderator for CS? I have adored this site since the day I adopted my first pet back in August of 2008. Never has a game captured my attention so completely and continuously. I am truly passionate about this site, and have a strong interest in seeing it continue to run smoothly, and be an enjoyable and welcoming community. I would consider it an exciting and humbling opportunity to be of first hand service to the staff and community, and an honor to be instrumental in making CS a friendly, peaceful, and enjoyable place. Above all, I love to be helpful, and firmly feel that my maturity, objectivity, patience, fairness, integrity, and cheerfulness would do well in filling this role.

8. Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required): I think, in this case, my particular skills lie in my personality. I am a extremely calm person, who is not easily offended. I have experience dealing with difficult people in difficult situations, and understand how to be firm, yet respectful and positive, when enforcing rules. I have never been a pushover, whether dealing with game moderating, live people in real life employment, or with my own children. I was also a riding instructor for my university for about 7 years, so am quite comfortable with leadership and the process teaching/explaining. Also, I have a tendency to be an optimistic person with good humor, which I think would do well in contributing to a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere.

What date did you register as a CS member?: June 19 '09
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 490
Without posting your age, are you old enough (and willing) to risk seeing adult content when screening posts that are waiting for moderator approval: Yes I am of age and I am willing to risk seeing adult content
How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Every day
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?I do come online a few times a day anywhere from 15 minutes to a few hours. During the entire day I would say about 3 to 4 hours total.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them I have not been a Mod for any other forums, but I have been a guild leader for about 5 years on Neopets (the guild has since died from inactivity and i have left Neopets)but i still resolved issues and deleted posts when needed, i mostly created activities for the guild community (about 200 users) to do.

Now the important question: Why do you want to be a moderator for CS? I would love to become a part of the CS team as well as a bigger part of the CS community. It is such an amazing site and I would be more than happy and willing to keep it safe, clean and running smoothly. (plus green is one of my favorite colors ;) )

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position? I have been in customer service at a luxury day spa for the past 2 and a half years. At my job I must be very professional with all clients as well as staff. When guests come up to me with a problem I always stay calm and overcome the issue quickly, if they have an attitude (which most do when there is something wrong) i simply ignore it and keep moving forward to figure out how to make them happy. If for whatever reason I am unable to fix something with the guest, I inform a higher position (manager) and work with both parties to make sure everything is resolved.

People may or may not like me and I have no problem with that.

I'm a very patient person but I'm also very persistent, I am very stubborn and it is very difficult to change my decision once i have made it. I'm non aggressive unless I truly need to be, assertive is more my style, I'll listen to both sides of the story and check out all the facts before making a decision. Playing by the rules is what I do, I cannot stand when people try to bend the rules just because they feel they are higher up or they deserve it more. I pay very close attention to detail, so much to the point that many people consider me to be a perfectionist. (I'm not really sure if these are skills but it's me so..)

What date did you register as a CS member?: 6/8/2009

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 331. I don't post as much as I browse around the threads.

Without posting your age, are you old enough (and willing) to risk seeing adult content when screening posts that are waiting for moderator approval: I do not mind any content that I see, some of the referred content I deal with throughout my job and art classes.

How many days a week do you usually visit CS? I usually visit seven days a week, unless there is a horse show for a day(s).

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? About 4-6 hours on average.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them I have been an admin and moderator on previous RPG sites, but the ones I participated in have closed due to lack of interest and inactivity from members.

Now the important question: Why do you want to be a moderator for CS? Chicken Smoothie is a site that is exciting for people of all ages. I have referred this site to many of my friends, and would like to keep the site organized so they can enjoy the site the way I do.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position: I do appreciate grammar and spelling, so I can write formal responses while also being calm and controlled. I am skilled in both BBC and HTML coding from taking a web design class from school. I am also the Vice President of my class, so I am good at interacting with all different types of people.

Re: Global Moderators - Now Hiring! READ BEFORE POSTING

Postby 13thMuse » Thu Mar 10, 2011 2:38 pm

EDIT: Just re-read the rules, I made a mistake and thought it said if you are younger than 18 and you are mature with swears and graphic images you may apply... I am younger so ignore this aplication please.

1. What date did you register as a CS member?
Saturday Oct 31, 2009

2. How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
1614

3. Without posting your age, are you old enough (and willing) to risk seeing adult content when screening posts that are waiting for moderator approval:
Yes. I may be younger than 18 however I am mature enough to deal with swearing and graphic images. I know bad language is totally inappropriate and must be taken care of however I know people use them regardless of that fact and they can be taken care of by telling the person maturely of how it is not acceptable however if they continue they must be punished and they are obviously out for trouble. Graphic images are a thing I am comfortable with. I know of how and why they are inappropriate and that this is a child friendly site and that they are unacceptable under any circumstances.

4. How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
I typically go on every day, I love this site! Sometimes I go on quickly, and sometimes I will go on for a while. But I am mostly on two to three hours a day.

5. How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
I am usually on two to three hours a day, lately a little less due to some problems with courses in school. Some days though I will be on for more time than that and if I were to become a moderator I would be willing to sacrifice more time to CS and looking over posts.

6. Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them.
No, I have not moderated any other site.

7. Now the important question: Why do you want to be a moderator for CS?
I have watched the CS community grow since I joined two years ago and I realize there is more demand for safety for more people. In those two years I have also been called names over CS and have received one rude threatening message (which I reported.). One bad incident happened when I was a newbie and I did not report it because I was not completely sure how to and was scared to. After that I wasn't sure if I wanted to play the game anymore with such people online. I decided to try and forget it and go on with CS. If I could stop people like that making people like me feel so bad I would feel like I was making a great difference in the Chicken Smoothie community. I love helping people at no cost and I'd love to help the CS community thrive and prosper.

8. Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?
I like to make sure I help people out. I am a mediator at school for some disagreements that occur there and always take the neutral party unless somebody is obviously being abused by one person and not fighting back.

I would be honoured if you chose me to moderate this site but I am perfectly happy and would understand if I didn't fit the part. Thanks for reading. :)

I am an old player trying to make a comeback here. If you see me around, please feel free to send a trade as I have many early game pets up for grabs, and many more common wanted pets from times I've missed.

1.What date did you register as a CS member?: (if it's less than 8 months ago, do not apply) I joined back in August of 2008. :]
2.How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 664, I've been much more active as of late, I used to not use the forum much. I am posting more and more, I may not have the highest numbers, but I didn't have much to post on that I was interested in. Being a mod will give me new chances and abilities to post, making that number go much higher.
3.Without posting your age, are you old enough (and willing) to risk seeing adult content when screening posts that are waiting for moderator approval: Yes, I've modded other sites and dealt with it daily. Not something unusual. And I am now old enough.
4.How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Everyday, usually.
5.How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? 2-4, sometimes more. I tend to be on for long periods of time, I haven't come on for less than an hour in a long time.
6.Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them. Yes, they are mostly dead now. x.x They're roleplay sites, though, I don't go on them anymore. If I had a link I'd show you, my apologies.
7.Now the important question: Why do you want to be a moderator for CS? I love helping people and cleaning things up! I break up fights in real life, and can't stand to see things out of hand. I tend to wish I had the power to do something about it, and if I find something contact someone. I'd love to be able to take things in my own hands.
8.Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example do you speak any other languages, or have you had any experience in peer mediation?) My Mom is a therapist, so I've learned methods to cool situations and speak calmly to not so calm people. I've talked people at my school out of doing things they shouldn't, and I am stern with rules. I am a TA(teacher's assistant) for the guidance counselor at school aswell, so I've overheard and picked up things from him. I speak Latin, but it's a dead language, so no help really. But I can understand some words from other languages because of their latin roots.

That's all for me. ;] I'm very simple. I'm not going to try to overload you with anything about me that's not true. If I don't add up to your expectations, I can't do much about it. xD
Note- If by chance I am chosen, I will be in Boston on a senior trip for 4 days! I will be back on as soon as I'm back.

APPLICATON
What date did you register as a CS member?: Saturday, November 22, 2008
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 6091
Without posting your age, are you old enough (and willing) to risk seeing adult content when screening posts that are waiting for moderator approval: Yes, I am.
How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Every day, unless there are major circumstances
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? 4-5
Have you moderated on any other forums before? No, I have not
Now the important question: Why do you want to be a moderator for CS? I want to help keep the site safe and appropriate for people of all ages. I have been on this site for several years and can tend to see a decline in the quality of the forum. I want to try and correct this, but still manage to maintain a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position? I have had positions of authority in real life before (camp counselor) which exposes me to dealing with people of all ages. While not a grammar Nazi by any means, I do not appreciate or use chat speak of any kind, so my responses will always be formal.
Yes, I am quitting. No, you cannot have any of my pets. They are all being sent to the Pound.

How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Every day
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? I keep it open all day mostly. I check back a lot through out the day.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them: Kit and Kaboodles :
Now the important question: Why do you want to be a moderator for CS? Yes, I'm patient and I know the rules of CS. I can link people to important threads quick because I have them saved on stickies. I love this site and I would love to be closer into this site.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position I can speak Spanish pretty well. I've had family troubles with alchohaul. I love to help people with family problems like that.

Postby MiniHorse » Thu Mar 10, 2011 2:48 pm

What date did you register as a CS member?:
I joined CS in October 26, 2009
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
I've made 6491 posts. I am active on the forums (mainly in RPs XD) and I talk to people a lot :)
Without posting your age, are you old enough (and willing) to risk seeing adult content when screening posts that are waiting for moderator approval:
I am not old enough, but I am willing to risk seeing adult content. It does not surprise me and I'm fine with it. Although I may not have much of a chance, I'll still try.
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
I visit CS every week, no matter what. I may not come on if I cannot (eg; going to Taiwan on the airplane)
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
I spend about 4 hours each day? I'm not too sure, I've never counted but I know I spend more than two hours. On busy days, I spend only 2 hours on CS.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
I have moderated before but I'm not too sure if it counts as moderation because the sites were made by friends.
Those sites are now dead.
Now the important question: Why do you want to be a moderator for CS?
I want to keep CS clean, although my application may not be the best, I won't lose confidence. I enjoy being on CS and want to make CS a better place. I'd rather not have CS be polluted with rubbish or spam. CS is an important place to me, it contains many memories, and I want to keep the site clean and safe. I also want to make CS a better place for other people, since some players like to post spam or images not suitable for children, I would like to clear that up so that children are allowed to access the site.
I also like helping others :) I enjoy helping people with problems and want to help break up fights or problems. If there is a problem involving swears, I will give them a warning.

CS is important to me, it's like the only place where I can be "myself" and all that. Real life is harsh and cruel, but CS is nice and warm, like a real family to me. That's why I would like to keep CS safe, no one wants a burglar robbing the house. CS is important in many other ways, so I'd like to protect it in some way :) <3
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required)
I know Chinese (Mandarin) and can moderate the international board. I don't have an eye for art but I will check the art shops once in awhile (and other threads), if I see something that looks a bit off, I will look it up and look around. I am pretty calm and can handle any situation.
