This is my entry for the writing contest!

Prompt: (DO NOT EDIT, write at least one paragraph for your entry, and don't forget to name the fox!) Describe what you and your new fox do while exploring the Kinashi ice fields.

entry:

"Picasso!" I called, waiting for the cryphic fox to reach me from however far back he had trailed. He trundled forward, and I smiled at his droopy posture. His hat reminded me of a painter's. My favorite artist was Pablo Picasso, so I ended up naming the sad fox Picasso. He reached me and sat down on my foot, resting his chin in my outstretched hand. "We're going on an adventure, Picasso. We're headed into the Kinashi ice fields with our tour guide, Sitelle!" I exclaimed, and Picasso groaned softly.

"Aww, Picasso. Don't be such a grump!" I squeaked, ruffling the fur on his head before turning and signalling to Sitelle that we were ready to go. The fluffy little tour guide bounded ahead of us, and then she had to stop so that I could manage to drag Picasso along behind me. "Oh Picasso," I grunted, dropping the heavy fox. "You better follow me," I commanded, and started running towards the impatiently waiting Sitelle.

We stepped onto the ice fields, and almost immediately Picasso took off with a high pitched howling bark. Smaller yips erupted from behind a small hill of ice and snow, and Picasso dove behind it. Three young foxes, each with designs of a different dog breed, burst out into the open with high squeals. The dalmatian-colored fox leaped into my arms, squirming with tiny yips and struggling to get away from Picasso.

The other two foxes, colored like an australian shepherd and a german shepherd, crowded behind my legs as they tried to hide. "Picasso! Sit!" I yelled, and my suddenly crazy fox sat down with a sad smile. I started running, all three young foxes trailing behind me, and I managed to leave Kinashi. I sat down and started hugging on the three new additions to my family. "You! You'll be Marshall!" I laughed as the dalmatian-colored fox licked my face. "Oh! Oh! and you'll be Rocky!" I pointed to the australian shepherd-colored fox. "And finally, you're Chase!" I announced, petting the calm german shepherd-colored fox. Soon, Picasso trundled out into the open and sat next to me. "You better be sorry, Picasso! Don't scare the younglings again like this!" I scolded, and Picasso just whimpered.

What a gorgeous night, is a thought that always comes to mind every time I came to venture. I'd sneak my rust-covered bike to take a voyage in the thick snow. Sitelle, the tour guide would kill me if (she/he) had ever found out. I wouldn't care to give you my wholehearted opinion, I loved struggling my way through the glistening desert of snow and I wouldn't give that up for some might-be danger. Kahlo would stay close beside me, observing every move and sound I'd make. What an observant little fox. Even though he would throw a fit about how I named him after a girl. Frida Kahlo, yes Frida Kahlo. A very underrated artist I might as well add. I don't think there is anything wrong about being named after a self-empowering woman who has taught the world that religion and looks shouldn't define you. I named him after her strength to carry on. That's all I will say now, I'm not here to rant, am I? but still, what an observant little fox. I was on the thick ice now, gaining speed every second. "Oh no!" I yelled to Kahlo who was trying to keep up with my rapidity of speed. I swerved my way to an abundant cloud of snow. It was like taking a nice faceplant into a pillow. "I deserved that," I laughed at myself. Kahlo looked at me as if he were going to say, you did deserve that. Our eyes wandered off into the sky, sometimes you don't even need to talk to have a conversation. Weird right? I sat down, my legs dangling off of the cliff. What a gorgeous night.
