At first I was going for some kind of Shepard but after wandering down a different rabbit trail I ended up with this. I kinda like it. If it wasn't obvious, I worked on this guy yesterday before I did the cover, in case I couldn't come up with anything and wanted to bail. Hence the timer on the cover and the timer on this one.

very good job on this c:
I like what you have done here with the varying shades of dark gray-browns.
the only thing that throws me off a little is that I think the eye color might look better if the outer ring was a bit darker.
otherwise fantastic first entry. keep it up c:

I'll be sure to check on whether or not the outer ring stands out from the marks around the face via phone next time (my computer's to dark to really tell).
