She views it as a source of food and salt. Sure, oceans are mystifying, but it is not something that Aether would take interest in, despite the octopus tentacles on her fur. Actually, because of this very reason, Aether chooses to dislike the ocean. It would perhaps interest her if we're talking about undercover coves and grottos that haven't been explored yet. Aether is sensitive to light, and since there technically can't be light underwater, the ocean could serve as a good hiding place for Aether should she grow gills or manage to get her paws on a relatively full oxygen tank. There are some underwater creatures that slightly scare her, but Aether's overly proud personality would never let herself admit that weakness.

"I don't like it that much... But there is still so much I don't understand of oceans. For this reason, I will remain neutral towards them. The darkness and the soothing coolness of the water that the oceans provide can be so comforting at times it takes all my effort to not dive down and stay there for eternity.

The oceans can be considered a space I go to when I'm frustrated."

The ocean can be a beautiful place, but walking alongside the shore with her right ear to the crashing waves, it can still be a dangerous place for Ianthina. Distant from the world, sometimes mesmerized, unable to feel the seaweed beneath her foes, lost in the thoughts that noone will ever get a chance to hear, locked away in a mind with no voice. Gathering shells and viewing the subtle colors and memorizing the textures is something she can actually do on the beach, since it is not safe for someone who may not hear a warning call and can't scream for help to wade in the water alone, because Ianthina would be alone at the beach. Drawing pictures in the sand would be something she would be happy to do also. Ianthina does enjoy being at beach a lot, and thinks the ocean is very pretty, well, at least from afar. She tends to be a very brave viscet, but is actually terrified of the ocean itself.

Congratulations! This story stuck in my head the most, and the "locked in a mind with no voice" gave me vibes of the sea itself, and I really enjoyed it ^-^
