Tracker Dog Application Series 8Username: Lyrical_Rose
Tracker Dog you want: #24
Name you'll give it: LumosReason why you want it: His design is absolutely gorgeous, and I've always admired Tracker Dogs from afar. I randomly came upon this and decided I might as well apply for one. He caught my eye and I fell in love with him.
Will it be used in any kind of story? Possibly, I'm not very good at writing, but this species intriques me, so maybe...
Edit: After writing the inroduction, the story came to mind. So yes, he will be part of a story.
Describe its personality: Loyal
Lumos is loyal to his owner, and any of his owner's friends or allies. He is very wary of others, but will never attack unless his owner allows it. He would die for his owner in a heartbeat. He is a one-person dog, and no one but his owner can tame him. He is very obedient to his owner, loving them more than anything in the world.
Intelligent
Like most Tracker Dogs, Lumos is very smart. However, he is on a whole new level. He can easily find answeres to puzzles and thinks things through to the point of logical decision-making. He is also very in-tune to his owner, allowing him to be able to semi-read her emotions via their inflection or body language.
Strong
Lumos is strong in the sense that nothing really bothers him, and he's able to move on quickly if something upsets him. He'll just bottle it up inside and never let anyone see him upset. This can make him seem un-attached, however, leaving him only close to his owner emotionally. He is also strong in the pyhsical sense, as he's very athletic and will work until he drops.
Reckless
Oh yes, despite his inteligence, Lumos can be just plain idiotic with his actions sometimes. He takes risks and loves adventure. He'll be the one to go trotting off when he scents something exciting, only to return when he realizes that the object of his curiousity was more dangerous than interesting. His curiousity is the main cause of his reckless-ness, and it makes him throw both caution and logic to the wind sometimes.
Loving
To his owner, Lumos is the kindest, most loving companion you could ever have. He acts somewhat like a youngster around his owner, playful and full of life. He's as fun-loving as some average dogs, sometimes, and his antics are both heart-warming and cute. However, as soon as his owner gives the signal, he becomes a serious and obedient partner.
Write an introduction for your Tracker:Lumos perked his ears and lifted his head at the sound of footsteps. What was that? The cool forest air gave no hint of anything dangerous, but it was better to be safe than sorry. He looked in the direction of Alana, his human. She was sleeping, he could tell by the steady, even breaths that escaped her mouth and nose. Lumos stood, and scented again, still hearing the crunch of leaves nearby. Still nothing filled his nostrils. Surely he wan't losing his sense of smell? He stiffened at the notion, and shook his head. No, that was not possible. That was unheard of in Trackers.
A branch cracks, only a few paces away now. Lumos whirled around, sending the leaves near his feet running for safety. Curse this Autumn season, the noise of the leaves would surely give him away. Lumos crouched, his hackles raised as he barred his teeth. A low, rumbling growl sounded from the back of his throat. He heard the footsteps stop, and pause. Lumos scented the air yet again, thankful when he could now smell the intruder It was male, and his intentions were unclear. He was possibly one of them, one of the Order.
Lumos silently steps forward, covering Alana with his medium-sized body. His ears were pinned to the back of his head, and another, louder growl rang out. He heard Alana stiffen, rustling leaves on the forest floor. She was awake now, and tense due to his alert. "Who is he, boy?" She asked, her voice a throaty whisper. Lumos growled again, and did not move. Alana cracked her eyes open to see a wide-eyed boy, of about eight. His dirty blond hair was long, and mud stained his clothes. The thing that shocked Alana most, after his age, was his eyes. The boy's eyes were cloudier than a muddy pond. He was surely blind. "Easy, Lumos. He's a friend." Alana wasn't sure of this, but she couldn't have the Tracker harming a boy without knowing everything first.
Lumos relaxed, and stepped away, sitting down a few paces away. He still kept his ears trained on the intruder, though. Just in case.
Alana sat up and looked at the boy. "What's your name?" She asked, glancing around the forest to see if anyone else was nearby.
"Micah." The boy replied, his voice clear and strong, depsite his obvious fear. "And you've got to get out of here. They're coming."
Both Alana and Lumos stiffened at this. This was not good, not at all.
