The soft black tom sighed quietly, when he was thrown a disapproving look from Clearpaw, but said nothing. He backed off, keeping his guard up in case the loner tried to pull anything. Don't look at me like I'm a kit that just stuck in the nursery. He thought, his tail tip flicking in annoyance.

The fluffy brown tabby tom smiled softly to himself, thinking of how polite they had been, for the most part. He continued to head back to camp, before realizing something. I can't go back to camp empty-pawed!

"This might seem a bit crazy, and I know it's not my place to offer this, but..." Clearpaw began, breaking the she-cat's gaze to look shyly at her paws. Though a loner, this she-cat looked driven, fearless, and very lively. On top of that, she appeared to be an excellent hunter. These were all qualities that Mistystar looked for in her cats, and it was not unknown that MistClan was getting low on warriors. "Perhaps you could join our clan. Of course, you'd have to train with us before becoming a warrior, but there's enough food to share, and it would provide a whole new purpose to your life." She said, looking back up from her paws. "We'd have to sort it out with our leader, Mistystar, but I don't see why she wouldn't accept you- you're a great hunter."

Amused, Flare chuckled at the comment about Tempest's mystique. "Do you think Magpie is in camp?" he asked, though either of the other two toms could answer. "Do you think we should bring a fish to her and see if she eats it? I'm rather curious to see if she's a fellow fish-eater."

Magpie had been lying on the side of camp opposite to the tunnel, where she had a good view of the clearing. As most of the sharpclaws returned from hunting, she watched as they stopped at the fresh-kill pile to add their catches before sitting down to gossip. When she heard her own name along with Tempest's, she quickly pushed herself to her paws before making her way towards them, interested to hear what they were talking about. "You called..." She said plainly when she reached them, her voice raspy with age. She eyed Flare mischievously, before turning the same gaze to Nikita, and then Percy. "What y'all talking about."

Nikita quit teasing Percy and turned towards Flare to answer his question. "I don't know." He replied, giving a brief shrug of his shoulders. "Maybe she's in the elder's de-" He began, but was cut off abruptly when Magpie appeared from right behind them. "Oh. Hullo, Magpie." He answered slowly, slightly startled.

⇨ She was quite surprised at the she-cat's offer, and was flattered to say the least, but was it right for her? Summer would be put in an uncomfortable world, and would have to interact with others, something she wasn't used to. However, she knew it would offer protection, especially when the season grows cold. The idea of being a part of the clan made her heart beat quicken with both excitement and apprehension, and she had to relax herself because it was no guarantee that she would be accepted into the clan. "I mean... If it's ok with your leader..." She said, both embarassed and humble.

"I'm sure it will be fine." Clearpaw said enthusiastically, trying to conceal her uncertainty. She drew in a quick, nervous breath. Would Mistystar really accept a loner who was brought to camp by two apprentices? She was a few moons into her training, but did she have that same credibility that a fully-trained warrior had? And most importantly, could she really convince Mistystar to accept the loner into their ranks? Her thoughts were quickly interrupted when a raindrop fell on her nose, and she realized that it had begun to rain. "We should start walking," She said with a glance at the sky. "When we get there, I suggest you surrender the shrew you caught. Most warriors don't take kindly to cats who've stolen prey, but Mistystar will understand, and you will probably be fed later on." Clearpaw explained calmly, completely forgetting her self-doubt. "Duskpaw shall lead us." She said slightly imperiously glancing at the black tom. Clearpaw immediately noticed his discontent, and she frowned shooting him an apologetic look before turning back towards the she-cat. "I'm Clearpaw, by the way. What's your name?"

"Not particularly." she replied, facing Percy. "Why did you have any?" She asked nonchalantly, but before they could answer, her gaze fell upon the fresh kill pile and she noticed two small fish lying near the top of the pile. She turned her head away from fish immediately before anyone could notice the hungry look on her face.
