Name You'd Choose for It: Ada
(Noble, Kind)
Gender: female
Reason You Want It: I have been stalking The Agency for a while, waiting for just the right character to come in to add to my character family. African Wild Dogs always have had a space in my heart. I find them amazingly, gorgeous animals. Her design is light and pretty, and I love the look of that. Also, the golden jewelry isnt over bearing, and accents the design perfectly.
My other form from weeks, maybe months ago is still on the list. I said a few times I was backing out from that a few weeks ago, so I hope that doesnt stop my form from being able to possibly win.
History/Background/OtherPersonality:Above all, Ada is humble. She hardly ever believes that she has done enough. She also prefers to blend in. When she first meets people, she doesnt automatically tell them of her royalty. Ada would much rather be out fighting in the mud and rain for herself rather than being protected and sheltered by other people.
She is also stubburn, tough, artistic, and bold. She will fight for what she believes in and will bat heads with someone until they admit they are wrong, even if she is in fact the wrong one. Unlike her sister, she dislikes being protected from the hardships of the real world. She would rather be on her own than in a mob of guards. Something that many people dont know about her is the fact that she is very creative and artistic. She loves to express herself. Ada is also quite bold. She doesnt mind being the first to choose to do something. She will also gladly lead the way to a new place.
Family:Ada's family is royalty. Her father is king of their country.
Her father's name is Shepherd and her mother's name is Glaze. She's got an older sister named Myst, and she is the heir to the throne. She is the second oldest child, but is not shown off to the world, so she is not well known. Ada has two younger brothers, Rock and Taz, that are twins.
History:"Do what you want Ada, but I'm just gonna let you know that if father finds out, I'm not covering for you."
My sister's voice rang in my ears as I padded down the cobblestone path that let away from the castle into the city. Our homeland was settled in the savanna where an anciant civilization of humans once lived. Our homes are made from the ruins of the old buildings in the city. My own family's home is situated to the north of the settlement and it is the remains of a castle that at one point had stood tall and proud. Now it was more of a pile of rocks, but the air of royalty is still clear.
For a second, I thought about just turning around now and not risk feelingn the wrath of my father. But no... I had to do this, and I pressed foward. Under the cover of night, I finally made it through the large stone gates of the city. Shadey characters roamed the streets, yet it only took a small amount of time for me to feel at ease. I was lucky, because I was the younger sibling, I wasnt shown off to the city as their "future queen". I could roam where I wanted without being fawned over. I could actually be treated as a normal citizen. However, if I was caught out here without a guard, I would be dead.
I continued to pad down the cobblestone path that eventually blended into a dirt path. The dirt clung to my fur and paws. It didnt bother me. I gazed up and around the city, knowing I hadn't been around here since I was merely a few weeks old, only a pup. Suddenly, I was stopped in my tracks and someone yelped.
"'ey, watch it!" The voice came from another female. She looked close to my age... but a little more thick skinned and she seemed to live a tough life out here.
"Sorry..." I said, my head lowering slightly.
She laughed, "Dont worry about it! Hey, are you new to town?"
I nodded, "Yes... I wanted to get out and explore the world on my own." It wasnt totally a lie.
"I run into many people like that." She said as she looked around. "I'm Blaire. You are?"
"I'm Ada." I glanced around, "Can you show me around?"
Blaire nodded, "Yea sure!" She started to bound down the dirt road and I followed.
We wove through many other dogs as we ran and I was beginning to enjoy myself. My worries disappeared as the different scents of the city filled my head. Blaire had stopped by a brick wall and she reared up onto her hind legs to put her front paws on the wall.
"Come look." She said quietly.
I did as she had done and looked over the wall. It was a good sized ring and all around it were different citizens fighting.
"What is this?" I asked. I didnt know what to think about it.
"They are training." She had her eyes trained on something at the far side of the ring.
"What for?" I asked quietly, trying to follow her gaze.
"Either a position in the army or as a guard. It's any young male's dream." She pointed out.
"You mean females cant take part as well?" I asked, my mind spinning. Finally, I had picked out the one she was watching. He had a large build and his coat was a dark brown with darker spots.
"I dont think anyone has tried to be honest. We all prefer to watch." She rested her head on her paws.
I scanned the clearing, "So, you like him?" I asked her.
She turned to look at me, her eyes wide, "Uh, I guess."
"Well then what are you doing standing out here? Let's go talk to him!" I jumped down and before I could move she grabbed my tail in her jaws, "What!?"
I laughed, "Oh c'mon."
"H-He looks busy." She said, eyes nervously dancing.
"Any male can take a break from whatever he is doing to talk to a pretty girl." I said and pulled away from her.
I strolled through the break in the wall with Blaire trailing slowly behind me. We looked like polar opposites. My head was raised high and I walked with a purpse, yet Blaire's head hung and she wasn't so brisk with her pace. I flashed a smile at two boys who at stopped with their wrestling to watch me walk by, but didnt slow down until I reached the target. He didnt notice me so I waited for Blaire to come up next to me.
"Eh hem?" I cleared my throat.
He looked up, "What do you w--" He started but broke off.
"I'm Ada. This is Blaire," I said while giving my new friend a nudge.
The male looked us over, "I'm Ryder. Why are you girls in here?" His opponent nodded in support.
Blaire's tail twitched nervously and I knew that I was about to say what she really didnt want me to say.
"My friend wished to speak with you." I said and before Ryder could say anything else, I butted in, "And I wanted to inquire about this training."
Ryder's partner stared at me, "Are you kidding me? Girls cant fight."
By now I could tell we were drawing a crowd. I didnt care, "Really?" I waved my tail in challenge.
Ryder stepped between us, "I'm sorry, but he's right. No female has taken part in any of our battles."
"Oh good, then let me be the first." I snapped.
Blaire nudged me, "Ada, maybe we should go."
I planted my paws on the ground and ignored her, "No. I just think these two are afraid of a challenge."
The other dogs in the cicle laughed and collectively moaned. Ryder's opponent shoved him out of the way.
"You want to put your money where your mouth is pretty girl?" He snapped.
"It'll be my pleasure." I flicked my ears and stared at him.
In less than a second the two of us had leapt for eachother and I had chosen to fight offensively rather than defensively. Blaire and Ryder had to jump out of the way so they didn't get caught up in our tussle. It didnt take me long before I had managed to flip the male onto his back and plant my paws firmly on his shoulder blades. I smiled down at him.
"You want to apologize?" I taunted.
He didnt say anything, but only tried unsuccesfully to get me off of him. Before he could make too much of a fool of himself, I stepped away and sat down.
"So now you know that a girl can fight." I said, flicking dirt from my paw.
"Yeah." He mumbled and looked around him.
Ryder looked me over, "Where did you learn to fight like that?"
"Brothers." I said with a short laugh.
Ryder chuckled, "You've got to come down here again sometime. Maybe you can start training?"
I smiled, "Sure. I'd love to come down and kick your friends butt again. What's your name?" I said while looking at my opponent.
He looked at me, "The name's Night."
I looked at his pelt and understood why. It was mostly made up of dark browns, greys, and blacks, "Well, its nice to meet you. I'd best be on my way." I turned to leave and Blaire turned to leave as well and follow me out but I was stopped by Ryder's voice.
"You'll bring your friend again, wont you?" He asked.
I could feel Blaire's happiness as I answered, "Of course."

For about a month, I would leave the castle when my family retired to their rooms for the night and hear the same speech from my older sister. "If you get caught, I'm not covering you." And so far, I had not been caught. After I would leave the castle, I would go down the same road and go into the city. By the entrance to the city, I would meet Blaire and then we would walk and talk as we made our way to the training grounds. One could pretty much say that Blaire and Ryder are now a couple and I was happy for her. Also, since I had started training with the boys in the training grounds, more and more females were starting to show up each night to try their hand at warfare. Some of them enjoyed themselves doing what was formerly called a boy's sport, but many still decided to sit out and flirt.
I smiled seeing Blaire in the usual spot and she ran to meet me half way, "You ready?" She yelped.
I laughed, "Yes!"
We started to jog towards the clearing, but tonight I felt different. Suddenly, I heard someone's whisper.
"Hey, isnt that the king's second daughter?" He mumbled to his friend.
Ada looked at me, "The King's daughter is in the city? Well that's weird."
I stopped and turned down a side street. Ada had no choice but to follow me puzzled, "Where are we going? This is a dead end, you know that from when we were playing that one game with Ryder and his friends."
I nodded, "I have to tell you something, Blaire."
She became serious and almost scared, "What is it?"
"I'm not really who you think I am. I'm not from miles away. I'm not--"
She interupted, "What are you saying?"
I took a deep breath, "I'm the King's second daughter those guys were talking about and if word gets to my father that I have been sneaking down here, I am dead."
I thought Blaire was going to pass out and I helped her sit down.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" She asked me.
"I-I didnt want you to get to know me as 'Princess Ada'. I wanted you to know me just as Ada."
Blaire stared at the ground, "How many people know you who you are?"
I didnt have to think, "I havent told anyone in the city. Only you know and those people probably know now because they reconized me."
When she didnt say anything, I asked, "Are you mad?"
"N-No, just shocked. Maybe we should skip going to the training grounds today so you dont get caught." She stood up.
I shook my head, "No dont worry, I still want to go."
Blaire shrugged and stood up. I waited for her to lead the way, but she didnt move. "Is everything ok?"
"Dont you want to go first?" She asked me.
I couldnt believe what she had said, "No. Dont know me as the King's Daughter, know me as your friend."
She seemed uncomfortable, but lead the way.
We got to the grounds without any more distractions. When we walked up behind Ryder and Crag, they didnt notice us. They were arguing quietly about something, and Blaire and I didnt want to interupt, so we just sat there to wait for them to be done. I couldnt help but to listen and I could tell that Blaire couldnt resist the urge to eavesdrop either.
"C'mon man! Dont worry about it." Ryder said as he nudged Crag.
Crag grumbled, "She's pounded me into the dirt faster than I can even fight back. What if she gets mad?"
Ryder laughed, "Its not like she'll breathe fire or anything-" He stopped and they both noticed us sitting there.
I smiled, "I wouldnt call it pounding you into the dirt."
Crag was noticably embarrased, "Uh hey."
Ryder chuckled and sat down close to Blaire to watch whatever was about to unfold before him.
Crag looked at me, "Are you ready to practice?"
Ryder let out a soft groan and looked around him.
I nodded, "Yeah sure, bring it on. I'll try not to pound you into the dirt this time."
We faced off and then I jumped at him. This time, Crag nimbly sidestepped and when I landed he immediately shoved my side and knocked me off balanced. I yelped in surprize as I fell, then laughed, trying to roll him off of me. He held his paws firmly on my shoulders.
"Got you." He chuckled.
I noticed that Blaire had gone over to sit by the wall to watch Ryder wrestle with another opponent a few yards away. I also didnt fail to notice that Crag had a conflicted look on his face as he stepped to the side.
"What is it?" I said as he let me to my paws.
"Ryder says that I'm being silly; that I shouldnt-"
I interupted him, "Don't worry, you dont have to say it."
"Huh?" He said shcoked.
"I know you like me." I said, proding his flank with a paw, "I'm good at picking up on these types of things."
Crag looked at me nervously and I laughed lightly, "Dont worry, I cannot breath fire."
He chuckled, "Thats a good thing, or else by now I would be pounded into the dirt and burned to a pile of ashes."
"Now I'll save time by saying that I do like you as well so we can get back to training." I said quickly as I jumped towards him, bowling him over.
Crag and I continued to fight. Some times he would win, but most times, I would win.
Suddenly, we both failed to notice the silence that fell upon the clearing. We also failed to notice that the night was getting darker as a large shape approached the far side of the grounds where we were fighting. We didnt fail to notice the deep growl that came from a few feet away.
"Ada!" His voice boomed across the clearing and I sprung out of the match and to my paws to stare up at my father, the King. He had two guards flanking him. My tail drooped and I felt all eyes on me.
I glanced at Crag who was down on the ground , his head low in a bow. Blaire had turned to look at me, her eyes wide.
"Father... I-" I tried to talk to him.
"F-f-father?" Crag spluttered.
"Quiet!" The King growled, "Ada, what were you thinking?"
I didnt say anything.
"Ada, speak when you are spoken to." His voice, even though everything about him looked furious, had a hint of fright.
I still didnt say anything. I only saw Crag on the ground a little ways behind me, clearly confused and disoriented. Suddenly, I felt teeth grasp the back of my neck after one of the guards left my father's side and I yelped in shock. My father looked down at me.
"You are coming back home to be punished." He growled.
I snarled back, "No."
"What?!" His voice was enraged; a low, snarling growl from the bottom of his throat.
"I said no. Now let me down." I stated proudly.
The guard dropped me, unsure of who to take orders from: the King or his Princess.
My father looked down his nose at me, clearly disappointed, "I'll respect your choice. Dont expect to be welcomed to warmly when you return crawling to the castle."
I stared at him, "It's not like I wont come back. I just want freedom of what I can do and where I can go." I struggled to keep my voice level.
"As you wish." His tone was still harsh and disapproving. "You will still be punished upon your return."
He turned around swiftly and left the clearing. His guards followed closely at his sides.
The training ground was silent and I felt all eyes trained on me. I looked around. The other dogs were slowly standing but Crag still had not risen.
"Stop acting like a pup and get to your paws." I said quietly.
He scrambled upright, "Sorry majesty..."
I couldnt help but laugh, "Dont treat me any differently."
"But you're--"
"I'm still Ada."
"But what about your--"
"My father? I dont worry about him." I said.
I still felt eyes on us and I looked around, "Go on with your business! Please!"
The clearing gradually got back to normal and I let out a sigh. Ryder and Blaire walked up to us slowly.
"Why didnt you just tell us?" Ryder said, trying to disquise a whine in his voice.
"I didnt want to." I said plainly.
Blaire nodded, "I only found out earlier today when some stranger pointed her out. I bet that is how your father discovered you."
I shrugged, "It doesnt matter anymore, does it?"
Crag stepped shyly closer to me, "You sure you like me? I mean you are the King's daughter. I dont see why you would go for someone like me."
I let out another laugh, "Dont be foolish!" And then I jumped at him, barreling him to the ground, "I'm not any different than you thought I was before."

My father never actually punished me too severely. I recieved a lot of grief from my siblings for it, but that was about it. When mother heard about Crag, she was utterly disgusted, but she got over it. My choice has grown to be accepted by everyone in the court and slowly the shock from the citizens has worn down. I'm beginning to be treated like I had before this whole event happened.
I'm a free spirit, and nothing can change that.
