Delays, delays, delays. And changes.
A'right, so everything has died down a bit for me, exams are almost over, etc. So, I hope to re-open Blots by the end of June. Yes, it will take that long. That's because I've noticed that a heck of a lot of people have adopted blots. To accomidate this, as well as my somewhat limited time, I am making some changes to Blots and the blots themselves. All that will take a while, that's why I'm aiming for the end of June to re-open. Sorry for the delay everyone!
Blot's new artist will be announced around the time of re-opening as well.

So, it appears that I need to expand Blots staff yet again, only this time I'm looking for an artist.

I will be away from Friday March 12 to Monday March 14 and will not have internet access during that time. The blots will be temporarily "frozen" (i.e. nothing will be happening to them until I come back). I will, however, update the adopted blots on Friday before I leave. You can still adopt blots or buy items, but I will not be able to give you your blot or item until Monday and I will not be able to check who has ordered/adopted what.

GRAND OPENING
Yay, it's finally open! *snips construction tape and shoos away lingering construction workers* I've decided to try my hand at adoptable pixel boxes, so we'll see what becomes of it.
There are also five new eggs in the Nursery. And one of them looks like it could be interesting... *wink wink, nudge nudge*

And I'm having issues with the codes so they will be posted under the pet and will change each time the box changes. Sorry for the inconvenience. Fixed! (hopefully, contact me if there are still issues)

Rules

1. Take care of your blots. They will need feeding and watering at least once per month, and they may be taken to the Pound if not taken care of properly.
2. Do not steal any of the blot linearts, or claim them as your own.
3. Do not use any of these blots for profit, this includes contests or traded for pets as well as other uses such as those.
4. Do not take other people's blots.
5. Do not remove the link back to this thread.
6. If somebody asks a question, let either me or -Destiny- answer it please, what you think is the answer may not be correct.
7. If Blots is closed, you may not order items, blots, or BP unless otherwise stated beside the "Closed" sign.
8. You must fill out the correct form if you wish to order items, blots, etc. Incorrect/incomplete forms will not be accepted.

About Blots

Blots are little creatures that come in all shapes and sizes. Blots come with their own upgradable box that can be decorated but they can move around the box, leave the box, interact with their environment, and sometimes even special events will happen to them!


This is Ember, my fully grown blot. She will be my example about how these boxes work. At the very top is the blot’s name; this blot’s name is Ember, as you already know. The asterix (*) beside her name is pink, which indicates that she is a female blot. Beside the asterix, Ember’s health points are shown. She has full health at this moment. At the very bottom beneath the box is a short blurb stating what the blot is doing and how the blot feels. As you can see, Ember is bored and she doesn’t really like being used as an example. Occasionally words will appear beside the blot, these help to create greater insight into what the blot is feeling, saying, or thinking.

Life Stages

Blots have two life stages. Don't worry, they can never die however they can get sick.
Egg (Stage 1)
This is the very first stage of blots. In the Egg Stage, the blot’s gender is undetermined. There is some hint to the colour that the blot will be and what kind of blot the egg will grow into. Egg colours are almost always striped, but watch out for other patterns. These indicate a rarer blot. All blots in the Nursery start out as eggs, but hatch instantly once they are adopted and moved into the Temp Box.

Adult (Stage 2)
The blot has hatched. The blot has grown ears and a tail (the shape and size depends on the blot and its sub-species). The blot can also now breed and move around the box. The blot will not change from this point unless it gets sick or something rare happens.

Caring For Your Blot

This lists some things to do to ensure that your blot is healthy and happy.

1. Blots need food and water. Each stage of blot has its own type of food. If a blot is fed the wrong type of food it will lose health points. Blots need to be fed and watered at least once every month.

2. Blots can get a case of the sniffles (the blot equivalent of a cold). Your blot will have a red nose and will cough. Your blot will also be quite grumpy and will be reluctant to move, leave its box, and generally just interact with its environment. Sick blots will lose one health point for every week that they stay sick. To cure sick blots, buy and use the Sniffle Cure. Your blot will be healthier in about three days.

3. Blots can also get fleas. Fleas do not just randomly hop into your blot’s box; they must be carried in by another blot. Blots with fleas will try to scratch themselves against anything in their box and, after a few days of scratching, will have red lumps on their body. Blots lose one health point for every two weeks it has fleas. To get rid of fleas from your blot and its box, buy and use the Flea Remover. Your blot may still occasionally scratch until the fleas are completely gone, which may take up to two weeks.

4. Your blot comes in a Temp Box. In this box, your blot loses one health point for every week it stays in the box. It is recommended to upgrade the box as soon as possible.

The Nursery

You may not adopt from the Nursery at this time.

Here is where you can adopt blot eggs and see what they grow into to! Eggs do not need to be fed until they hatch. You can check the list of sub-species to see what type of blot the egg is. This won’t be confirmed until the egg hatches.

After you post the form here to adopt a blot, I will post here when it is ready to be adopted. You can find the codes in the Owned Blots section futher on. Now that you have ordered your blot, you might want to decorate the box your blot will come in. But before we can proceed to The Store, you need to know about the payment. The essentials are free but there are extra decorative items and clothing. The currency is Blot Points or BP. Below (after the Special Blots and Roulette Wheel) is a chart of what pets/items equal what amount of BP.

Roulette Wheel

Pick a number, any number. Here you can pick a number and see what you win. It can be a blot egg, or it may be an item or it might even be a custom blot! It is random however. There is a form to fill out if you wish to participate in the Roulette Wheel. The Wheel will "spin" once per month as long as at least one person has chosen a number, once it's done "spinning" (by use of a random number generator) you will recieve whatever you have won.

Special Blots

These are the blots who were created especially for certain occasions or holidays. I apologize if there are no blots for your holiday, I can only create blots for holidays I am familiar with. However, you can customise your blot into something for your holiday by using certain Special items. These blots rbelow equire BP to adopt. Use the Nursery form to adopt Special Blots.

Pound

I hate to have to do this, but based on the amount of hungry and/or sick blots I've been seeing, I have to add a Pound. If a blot's health goes down below 5, it will run away from the box. If you find your blot here, you will have to pay a fine of 50 BP to get your blot back. However, if the blot is not claimed within a month, it will go up for general adoption. If you find your blot here, but do not want your blot back; just PM me saying so and I will put your blot up for general adoption. The same goes if you no longer want your blot, but it is still in your possesion (you can also sell back blots, but this is a better choice if you no longer want to be a part of Blots in any way).
The blots in general adoption do not show a picture, just a description. Adopting blots from General Adoption is free. Blots waiting to be claimed show a picture of the blot and the owner's name. Only the owner may adopt that blot and it costs 50 BP. Use the Nursery form to adopt General Adoption blots, PM me for Waiting to be Claimed blots.

Other Ways to Earn BP

1. Suggest an idea for a new item by posting that idea here. If it gets added to the Store, the originator of the idea gets 30 BP. If you post an idea but it doesn't get added to the Store for any reason (and I will almost always tell you why), you still get 10 BP.

2. Suggest an idea for a new sub-species or blot-lineart. If you are suggesting an idea for a new sub-species or blot-lineart, please PM me your idea. We don't want to give away any hints X3. If your idea for a new sub-species or blot-lineart gets accepted and drawn, I will PM you back saying whether the idea was accepted or not (and if not, I will almost always say why) and the originator of the idea will get 100 BP for a sub-species and 85 BP for a new blot-lineart.

3. Sell back an item or blot. Just post here saying what you are selling. An item fetches 50 BP and a blot fetches 20 BP for an egg, 40 BP for a Baby, 60 BP for a Teen, and 80 BP for an Adult.

This is the small cramped little box your newly adopted blot comes in. The blot loses one health point for every week it stays in the box. This box can only hold one blot.

This is the next size up from the Temp Box. This box is a little bigger and slightly more roomy.The blot does not lose health points for staying in the box. This box can hold up to two blots.

Big Box
This is the largest size box to date. Larger boxes may be added as time goes on. This box is incredibly roomy and gives your blot plenty of space. This box can hold two blots and blots do not lose health points for staying in the box. This box can hold up to 4 blots.

No blot wants thier box to have plain, white, boring walls do they? The Prairie and Living Room backgrounds come with the Temp Box when you adopt a blot, but there are plenty of fun and exciting environments here for your blot to play in and explore.

A nice calm sunny day in the prairies with beautiful blue sky and a few fluffy clouds. This background can be used in any size box.

A nice indoor space for your blots to live in if they are tired of being outside. This background can be used in any size box. Companion Animals

Medication
If your blot is feeling ill, this is the place to go to cheer them up and get them back on their feet (metaphorically speaking as blots don't have feet).

Vaccination
It's a good idea to give this to your blot when you adopt it, it give your blot an 80% lesser chance of getting sick from an event.

Flea Remover
If your blot is scratching, it might be a good idea to get this for them. It removes fleas from your blot and its home.
Price: 20 BP

Sniffle Cure
If your blot if feeling a little under the weather, this will cure them if they have gotten the sniffles.

Special
These are some extra little items with extra effects (yes, the items are named after Greek gods/goddesses).

Aphrodite's Flower
This flower must be added to a blot's box for it to be bred to another blot. Each additional flower added to the female blot's box at or before the time of breeding increases the female blot's egg count by 1.

Pandora's Box
Black
When added to a box, it gives the resident blot one extra event every week for one month. There is a 65% chance the event will be negative.

White
When added to a box, it gives the resident blot one event every week for one month. There is a 70% change the event will be positive.

Poseidon's Trident
When added to a box, it keeps the blot’s food and water dishes full for three month. Each additional Trident added to the box adds another month onto the food and water (very useful for blot owners going on vacation).

Gives the blob’s owner the ability have a customized blot.

Breeding Blots

Blots can fall in love and breed due to an event. They can also be bred together. If you own the two blots you want to breed then you only need to fill out one form. If someone else owns the blot you want to breed your blot to then both parties need to fill out the form.

It is a very short form, all you need to do is post the form (if you don’t own the two blots you want to breed, notify the other party and both parties then need to post their forms) and I will let you know when the female blot should lay her eggs. The known sub-species list also lists whether the genes of the sub-species are dominant or recessive. This will help in determining what sub-species the new blots will be. However, there are some sub-species of blots that cannot be bred together. These sub-species will be listed under Incompatible Sub-Species in the known sub-species list. As of yet, there are no cross-bred blots (but that might be because no one has bred any blots yet) so try some different pairings and see what turns up! If the two breeding blots are not owned by the same person than the two parties must discuss how to split up the female blots eggs on their own time and they must have let me their know decision by the time the eggs hatch, otherwise the eggs will be taken to the Nursery for other people to adopt. Healthy female blots should lay up to three eggs. Once the arrangements have been made to breed the blots, all owners of the breeding blots need at least one Aphrodite Flower each.
