For Lenny there was nothing special about the 14th day of the second month of the new year. But despite his regular attempts to pretend that there was nothing special about this simple day, his friends, his parents, and even the internet always had other ideas. For Lenny, Kalentines day serves as not only Single Awareness Day but also as National Friendly Insult Day. Every year he spends time printing out beautiful cards and writing beautiful messages inside them which ranged from "Roses are red, Violets are blue, your semi-ok, and your backpack doesn't match your fur." to "Your face is nice, so is your nose. But I think you have lice, and I'm annoyed by your voice"

Despite Lenny's attempts to insult his friends, they always laugh off his jokes and hand him a bag of chocolates. It's not that Lenny wants to be mean, but he appreciates being able to say what he thinks sounds funny and know that his friends won't take him seriously. But what surprises him most is that every year, his cards tend to bring his friends closer to him. Sometimes they even allow him to make more friends as strangers ask why his friends can't stop laughing.

Loud chattering and clattering of metal pots and supplies fills the room. The bright light shining onto the large kitchen making everything look like it is glowing. Merabella had the day off for valentines but she has no one to share the day with so she decided to work at the food bank to cook up some of her special dishes for those who needs it. A smile fills her face every time she hears someone compliment her cooking. She continues to cook until it was time to go for her.
When she arrives home, she calls her son, Winston, to tell him about her day. "I'm glad I can help and that others are enjoying the dishes I made!" Merabella tells her son over the phone. "I can't wait to do it again!"

Jonquil ushered in Kalontine's Day with a stack of gooey chocolate chip pancakes and a half dozen pink streamers taped up around his home. He had maintained an aura of celebration around this holiday for years, but as his family and friend group grew so did the party. These days it was presided over by Jonquil and his two closest friends, Beauregard and Kendall; and now that the trio was edging into their forties, they'd settled into the complacency of relying on a nice, Kalontine's Day breakfast to share.

They'd agreed to eat at ten am the week before so folks kept shuffling into his house as the morning wore on, bearing cards or candy or simple smiles. Most of them could only stay for a few hours, as they had obligations elsewhere; Beauregard had promised Caligula he'd set work aside for the day, and Kendall was meeting Graham for lunch with his gaggle of nieces and nephews. Jonquil had less solidified plans (the issue of having an on-again, off-again boyfriend was perhaps being off-again during Kalontine's Day) but he was happy for the company for as long as they could stay.

His adopted children arrived when the clock was nudging ten, apologizing for their lateness but bringing an enormous pitcher of sweet tea with them. Jonquil indulged them, as he always had, and set the tea on the table before gesturing for them to sit. It was a cozy affair; Jonquil had known Beauregard and Kendall for years, and he'd raised Seneca and Ezekiel from infancy. There was a pleasant warmness in his chest that he recognized as happiness. For him, Kalontine's Day was not necessarily about romance but rather family; about being with someone you loved, however you loved them.

He smiled at everyone individually and reached for the platter of pancakes. "Dig in," he said, pushing the platter in Beauregard's direction. "And happy Kalontine's Day, everyone."

on kalontin's day, brynn likes to immerse herself into the world of reading and baking. from the time she wakes up until the time she lays down for bed, she is cooking brownies, cookies, and cakes. usually she reads mystery and psychology novels, but on this day she finds a bunch of romance novels to power through.

alice sat in her studio, gazing out her small window into the large world of london. she wondered what it would be like on this day with a very special someone, but she wasn't hasty to find a partner. she turned from her window, and packed up her stuff. "goodbye, mother!" she called to her mum. her mum replied with a simple side-wave, and alice frowned. she had been working in her mothers studio ever since high-school, and she's found it very nice. she made her own clothes, and she had her own little apartment. her bag gently thumping against her leg as she walked, alice headed outside. the trees looked quite lovely decorated in hearts, and pretty lights. she listened to the vague music playing a little ways away. her street was quiet and peaceful, never flooded with cars or buses like the rest of london. bunnies were enjoying a small snack, and birds were settling down for the night. she grinned as small baby birds popped out of the nest. how cute.

she turned the block. it was still calm-ish, but as she got closer to town center, it became noisy with lovers. she sat on a bench, her legs crossed as she began to sketch. she sketched a very petite kalon, wearing a beautiful gown. it had roses sewed into it, and the kalon wore a lovely vail. she finished her drawing only to realize she had sketched a bride. she chuckled at her sketch, imagining herself in the shoes of a beautiful bride, walking her way up to her husband. the sight would be stunning. it would be in a beautiful park, with birds fluttering around the arch. roses would be growing in every corner, and it would be a clear sunny day. she realized she asked for too much for her wedding, but it was fine to fantasize.

Ever heard of the pocky game? Thats probably what Yujin wants to do on Valentine's Day; play the pocky game with Joanna. He'd probably be following her around most of the day with a packet of pocky in his hand and just begs her to play with him because its cute and he loves her ;; Or Yujin's pretty content with just following her around with whatever she's doing, like a lost puppy. He's a pretty lazy boy most of the time, and especially on Valentine's Day, whatever makes Joanna happy, he probably enjoys. Its not like he can wreak havoc on the holiday of love anyways.

Quinn and Constellation

With a soft sigh, Quinn glanced at the landscape below. Her wings beat as quietly as an owls, the winds weaving through her fur and calming her nerves.
She wanted nothing more than to go visit Constellation, as Valentines day would be beginning very soon, but it had been a particularly rough day. There had been an outbreak of an unknown illness in a small town and she had to escort a mother and her kits to Styx for judgement. Her heart was heavy with grief for them. The kits had not known what was happening and danced happily around her paws, lighter than the air itself.
Below, she saw a town that was still as bright as a star. Quinn lighted down nearby, carefully approaching the town. Music was playing towards the center and she felt herself drawn forward by the scent of sweets and flowers. She watched as Kalons danced together, laughing and smiling. As much as she wanted to stay and join in, her heart pulled her away. Constellation wasn't here and it wouldn't be right to celebrate without her.
She purchased some flowers and baked goods before hurrying away. Quinn knew she wouldn't be able to stay too long to visit Constellation, but she would leave her these gifts to remind her of her love.
As she approached Constellation's home, her heart fluttered and warmed. She felt that she was needed elsewhere; someone was dying. Work was calling. Quinn left the roses and baked goods where she knew Constellation would find them and turned to leave, salty tears burning her eyes.
I love you, my star. She whispered.
