Why is their horn broken? When they were younger, much younger, they got lost. After wondering deeper into the forest, it became eerily quiet. Soon they were running from a humongous beast. they managed to get away with their life, the only tell of this experience their broken horn.

Why is their horn broken? A story.

I ran. Past the trees, past the flowers. Gone were the tame gardens, replaced by wild ivy and twisted roots of ancient oaks. I kept running. 'Come on December, don't be afraid. You would've been worse if you stayed.' A voice said inside my head. I remembered the cruel taunts, the jaunting laughs. The way people looked at me, as if I was a year-old rotten apple. I hated that look. Or the way some would smile with their mouth, while they were disgusted with their eyes. My parents hated me, said I was a disappointment. My older sister was a brilliant scientist with one gender. "Why can't you be the same?" and "Can't you make up your mind?" They would say. I saw the ground suddenly hurtle towards me. Then I realized I was falling. Darkness fell around me.

I woke up, gasping for air. And then I felt it. Sharp pain jolting through my horn. I notice it rained while I was unconscious, and there were puddles around me. I look into one, and saw myself. Except with a broken horn.
