Mortimer -traded-

Ill be using this guy's persona some place else~

He sells antique books for a living ;0c Scoff all you want, but there's money in that profession. Connoisseurs, especially too-rich upstarts looking to be classy eat this stuff up. Admittedly Mer's flubbed a few times when dealing with authenticity, but he knows a true antique when he sees it. No harm in replicating antiques to get a bit of extra cash, is there?

He's also a very manipulative and tends to swindle people- but never twice. He learned that lesson the hard way.

He's a professional pitpocket, oh yes- not much of a klepto though

The satchel was originally used to accent his look of a "book collector" to rope people in, but now he actually uses it for things. Mostly just stuffs receipts in there, and marbles that he uses for mental therapy. He twiddles them in his paws when he's trying to concentrate or calm himself. Also he uses them to do little tricks. Usually to trick more money out of people's pockets, and wow little kids. His hands always seem to be moving, honestly- a habit he doesn't really feel like shaking off. He can do many a thing with his hands...

What's the story behind the Skull?;; It was an odd antique, picked up from a simple hole-in-the-wall charms store. He tries not to frequent such places with the whole idiotic "voodoo" vibe going on, but for once he was curious enough to investigate its selection. In his defense, the store sold some pretty unique tomes. One of those shops that sold really old books, yanno? He doesn't believe in all that hogwash old age spellcasting stuff, but the books tend to sell for alotta money. Anyway-

So he walks into the shop, drawn in by the tomes advertised on the windowsill. Sucked that they weren't authentic at a closer glance, but Mer figures he could fix 'em up and fool a few idiots. So, he walks to the counter, kinda idling really, when he spots the skull, sitting amongst a bunch of trinkets. It looks chalky and a bit too non-plastic to be fake, so he picks it up. Lightweight. Huh.

He's not sure how he ended up buying it, cause next thing he knows he's walking out of the store with the skull. He's still not sure why he still has it. Or why he doesn't question the fact that the eye sockets glow sometimes.
